That story had me thinking that either the kid knew that the parents were struggling for money and was trying to steal to help out or that it was the parents doing it and trying to use the kid as a scapegoat.

Only once my younger brother stole from a shop when he was about 6 years old. (19 years ago).
And out of ALL the thing a kid could have stolen from WOOLWORTHS... he decided to shove about 14 alarm tags out of a cardboard box, from near the till, Into his coat pocket 😂 the sensors went off (obviously)
The member of staff starts pulling all these alarm tags out and they both start laughing as my mother rolled her eyes and shook her head lmao. Hes always been a good kid . Proud of the young man/father he has become ❤

Great content! Can't imagine living the 6th story, if you have to assume everything and can't communicate in a relationship, then you're not ready for a relationship.
She did well breaking up with such a childish, assumptive guy.

      Agree with everything.
Mike is so many things, none of them good. The clueless gall of him calling her a gold digger, while he initially stuck around because he thought she had money; allegedly realized she wasn't like that, but still went along with the THOT/gold digger narrative. He deserves a long, miserable childless life with Jessica, as folks like that should not be sullying the gene pool with any offspring.

I’m pretty sure “hands-off” parenting is about teaching the children to be independent and making their own choices and finding the positive and negative outcomes of things for themselves. NOT sitting there and being bone-idle and just straight up lazy and neglectful with your children. Feel free to enlighten me more on REAL hands off parenting 😊

Story 2 had an update, she ended up divorcing him. Her and her daughter are happy, the visits are supervised and no child support from him. She took the baby to hospital and they noticed signs of neglect and she pressed charges against him. A couple of months after the divorce he got a new girlfriend and is trying to make the OP jealous (it’s not working) and has now asked her to be their surrogate because he doesn’t want to ruin his new girlfriends body, the audacity of her ex husband is unreal

Hey, man, I get it. You're grieving your mother, you want to honor her, but not at your friend's wedding! The theme is already set in stone! What you did was disrespectful, and you overstepped boundaries.

"Am I the asshole for kicking my brother and his family out because his kids stole from me?"
A 9-year-old habitual klepto? Absolutely not! NTA! Actions have consequences! And part of me suspects that his brother was in on it, especially when OP mentioned that his watch was also missing, and they "couldn't find it!"
    ETA for update:
Congratulations on finding the ring, your engagement, and the bun in the oven!
And good on you for not letting your brother and his family back into your home, because once trust is broken, that's it! It's almost impossible to get it back, at least in my eyes.

For the maid in the dark purple dress. She was being completely unreasonable. A reasonable exception would have been : hey i know the colors in your wedding are _x_ but as you know im missing my mother something fierce and would love to wear a purple accessory/accent to bring her memory with me. Ex: a metallic bracelet/necklace/earrings with a purple stone/bead,(or) purple laces on the back of my dress,(or) a purple hair clip/hair band /hair elastic hell even a purple bead in my hair we can tie up so noone sees it. There were near INFINITE alternatives to a full purple dress and just showing up and trying to gaslight the bride when shes already stressed is 100% an asshole move.

While a parent is responsible sometimes it does take a village, maybe someone in the family can find a therapist for this kid bc end of the day he may be his parents problem now but he will be society’s problem in about 9 years. If I was the uncle I would have said when his brother was living with him, his son was never to be alone even escorted to the bathroom until a therapist said different

I remember hearing this story elsewhere. NTA. You also deserve better than that lazy bum you call a husband.
I was definitely going to give him the benefit of the doubt, because I know what it's like to be out of work for an extended period of time, and be unable to find a job despite your best efforts. Last story i can kinda relate to the sister. I hate fish, it makes me want to vomit even smelling it. But I'm not allergic to it. But i learned from my dad, when he was in prison, he would put on his paperwork that he was allergic to fish so that they couldd not serve it to him. So i tell evwryone I'm allergic to fish so they wont force it upon me or understand why i have to leave the room. However i dont go as far as wearing a medical bracelet or buying useless epipens that someone else needs 🤷

As far as the girl with the fake allergy, if she started telling people this in college, why would she lie..you’re an adult if you don’t like a certain food, you don’t have to eat it…she must’ve liked the attention she got by saying that she was allergic.. that’s the only thing that would make it make sense 🤷‍♀️

i have A LOT of genuine food allergies. peanuts, tree nuts, soy, flax, shrimp, poppy seeds, and i’m lactose intolerant. i also outgrew a mushroom allergy. a lot of people still don’t take my allergies seriously, and when people pull stuff like this, it makes it harder for the rest of us with real allergies 🙄 it sounds like they’re in canada, so she’s lucky that our neighbors to the north would just *give* her an epipen which helped her keep up the lie 🤦‍♀️

For story 5, OP is NTA. Her friend needs to be less narcissistic. She could have worn a purple accessory and followed the dress code, it’s one day and it’s not her wedding. To then try to gaslight the bride is disgusting behavior from a “friend”. Absolutely not. I would have kicked her out too. A bride doesn’t need that kind of stress or negative energy on her wedding day.
And for story 6, her dating past is none of new boyfriend’s business especially not his friend’s business. In my opinion dating past may only need to be brought up in explanations or discussions related to health issues, trauma or boundaries. And what’s the big deal? She accidentally dated friends. It’s not like she cheated or slept with all of her ex’s friends. And even so, either let it go or don’t date her? If he is so “over it” then why is he bringing it up and telling his friends about it like it’s a joke. He clearly sees her as lesser, and that’s not okay. You should respect your boyfriend/girlfriend/partner and he clearly is ok with making jokes about her. Gross. She shouldn’t give him a nice present or continue dating someone like that. 🚩🚩🚩

The allergen want to find kind of interesting because there's definitely a difference between deathly allergic, allergic and intolerance
I definitely grew either an allergy or an intelligence to a couple of things that either I used to absolutely love or other people absolutely loved and people just don't understand cuz if you tell them you're allergic they expect you to break out in hives. Or typically the only time we call it an intolerance or think of that word is when it comes to dairy products. So I probably have more so an intolerance to some things but I tell people I'm allergic It's just not deathly and because it wasn't deadly and basically had all through middle school people trying to poison me because they wanted to see if I would break out and hives and no I don't have that type of reaction I either get sick or have bathroom issues and it's just a pain in the butt and it's so mean like why are you trying to get people sick because you think getting some kind of rash or something is funny!? And I've never been officially diagnosed or gone to the doctor's about it so I either had family members or my friends when they got older and weren't trying to hurt me Just say oh you're not allergic you just don't like it and it's like no because a couple of those things I used to love as a kid and it sucks that I can't have them anymore

I am allergic to latex, the symptoms change depending on how it comes into contact with me. Because I am allergic to latex I am allergic to some well-known fruits and vegetables lime passion fruit, papaya, cantaloupe, celery, chestnuts, etc. (the same enzyme in latex is in the fruits and veggies). The reaction is different for each fruit and veggie ranging from mild pot severe and a lot of them are not noticeable right away. A lot of people do not understand this and tell me I am making up things just so I don't have to eat the offending fruit or veggie.

@@shadowkissed2370 I can definitely say I've never heard a correlation between those before but I get it. My best friend has a couple BAD airborne allergies that seem odd. Like she can't shop at Michaels (can't use or be around certain scents)or she can eat oranges but she can't peel them herself.. what gets me tho is even tho me and my other friends can't remember all her allergies we at least remember she has a bunch and remember to double check with her .. her family I'm pretty sure doesn't care/understand

I am just curious how the sister even got epi pens without an allergy diagnosis???
Me and my kids have allergies and have to get prescription renewals every year to get them from the pharmacy.
They don't just hand them out. They're regulated. And they're expensive.
I'd imagine that even in a foreign country a prescription would be necessary since they're literally epinephrine-- that has to be regulated. Injected unnecessarily it can create serious, emergent, heart issues. Even if injected because of anaphylaxis- the medics have to be called. Because it's epinephrine!!
I'm not buying the non-allergic sister's whole story. My guess is she was trying to stir up issues for whatever reason. It's not super plausible to me.
She does seem petty by the wording of her post.
