Story 1 - it wasn't even him "teaching her a lesson" it was him punishing her. If she stays with him the punishment will get worse when he doesn't get what he wants.

Wtf is that behavior. College classes cost a lot of money. Her one hour costs a hell of a lot more than his one our if she gets a zero on the exam.

You're right. I hope the "lesson" she learns is to divorce his abusive ass. I would think this IS an escalation and cannot be the first time he has sabotaged or punished her for not complying to his demands. He won't change for the better, no use sticking around to become a Dateline episode.

Story one. This was clear retaliation, and this is not someone that you should stay with because they shown that their wants are bigger than what is needed or important to OP. If he does it once he will do it again. I would make sure on the next exam if i was OP I would have stayed someplace else so they could not sabotage me again.

The dive bar story. In my country, the legal drinking age is 18. I went to some drinks at a bar after work with some colleagues. Some were already there because they had finished earlier, and so already had drinks. It wasn’t until I went to get my drink that the bar staff told us that they were an over 21s bar. These are not common in my country given the legal age. I was only 19 at the time, and my colleagues complained that they didn’t tell us beforehand and had to down their drinks and leave as I couldn’t even just be in the bar not drinking because of their “over 21s” rule. There was no-one on the door checking IDs which is pretty common practice if they are an age restricted venue. I totally get where OP was coming from, and I still haven’t been back to that bar and I’m now 28.

In story 5 if it was me, I'd go absolutely nuclear on the parents. I'd send emails/letters/texts to every single family member, every single one of their friends, all of their coworkers, all the members of their churches (if any), etc. telling all of them that they only got together out of spite to try to force their kids to break up. And then I'd go no contact.

  • @alarmedregret
    @alarmedregret 10 місяців тому +7

Story 5 is vile. Parents get immediate no contact. I'd move much further than an hour away. If they started blowing up phones or going the social media route, I'd get an attorney to send a cease and desist.

Story 4- idk if it’s a cultural thing but I couldn’t imagine feeling entitled for more than what I gave my partner. If I gave him $100 I’m only entitled to my $100 back. I also wouldn’t accept if he tried splitting it with me, my first thought was “ it’s your money not mine. I can’t accept it”. If you’re married than it’s 100% different but if you’re dating you’re not entitled to anything.

That last Story, OP is so strong and has way more control than I would, because if he is old and set we would have handle it that way with my fist in his face, but OP handled it perfect. Hope OP will find better employer.

Story 4: He forced her to play when she didn't want to. She gave him what he put in without her consent. $7,000 isn't half either. $7,500 is geezer. (To him)😂😂😂😂 He deserved every bit of what she gave him.

    25. If you ever have to "guess" a woman's age, always say 25. Younger women will think they look older and more mature, older women will feel young and beautiful.

The story with the dog, I feel like OP could be Ascon 3/4 (but somewhat justified) because screaming at someone at their place of work is not okay. Yes, the bartender should have alerted OP sooner about the dog policy, but OP should have asked IMO. Anywhere with food, whether it be a grocery store or a restaurant, should be assumed not pet-friendly unless explicitly said. So it's best to always ask, and the whole situation could've been avoided. And there were other options available. Ask for the manager to either make an exception since they already have their food, or clarify the policy and see if it really extends to the patio. Or just leave without causing a commotion. To me it's absolutely an ESH story, including the Husband cause if you know your wife wants to bring the dog, he should've asked when ordering or better yet go to one of the pet friendly places OP recommended.

Story dive bar. The dog could have a cone of shame on and stayed home. If anything its probably safer for the dog to stay home

Story 2 Dive Bar: NTA, would've just gotten up, and left - no food, no pay. Bartender lady is sweet on hubby, and he is at least flirty back. Has nothing to do with cheap food. Taco Bell has cheap food, don't see him taking the crew there. Wonder what that dive bar has that he can't get at a fast food joint or food truck.
Story 3 Age on Cake: Why do women make such a big deal about age? We live in a youth-obsessed culture; where females are frowned upon for aging naturally. Has he never seen a single add for beauty products that stress looking younger, or giving a woman a "youthful glow?" It's an entire industry - no, it bridges industries. Ask any actress over 35 if a woman's age is a big deal. When's the last time you saw a man have a midlife crisis and trade his same age wife in for one twice his age?
Story 4 Jackpot: She didn't want to gamble, was happy not gambling. He nagged her until he jammed the money in the machine and left her. He got all he deserved.
Story 5: Mom did not "call out" the kids regarding "incest," she slandered them. I would have brought up how odd it was that she & my BF's dad were getting it on. After the 2nd time she made incest comment, I would've gone No Contact. Attending the wedding would not have been an option. All of that *before* finding out how & why the two scumbag parents got together. Advice for OP: get Mommie Weirdest on record(voice, video, screenshots of text/msgs) a bout The Evil Plan, share it with both families, go No Contact. Preferably move away, change your damn name/socials/phone and put that trash behind you. BTW, isn't maintaining a fake relationship & going through with an actual marriage more trouble than possibly having to drive 2 hours round trip on the (I'm thinking rare, as how selfish they are) days they want to visit their imaginary grandchildren?

Seriously OP? Your man goes to a place with shitty food multiple times a week, the female bartender is aggressive with you and bans you for having a dog on the patio, and there's no red flags appearing? 😑

*Story 4/ Ex-Gambler -* _OF COURSE_ OP’s GF should hv given him half the money. He *staked* her, he put her there, he talked her into it! Yes he took a risk with her losing his money. If she had most it he wouldn’t hv told her she OWED him half of it. She’s a SOZO !!! (Sis(ter) Bozo). She’s a terrible person. Same scenario, I was Bally to watch but he gave me $50, left, I turned it into $700 and OFC I gave him half. How could u justify not. He’s well rid of her.

Story 7- the paci thing to "help break thumbsucking" is dumb logic and doesnt make sense.
Its not breaking any habit, its the same thing. Thats enabling the sucking. If she wants it, ok, but to say it "helps break a habit" is not logical. 🤔

I disagree about the cake thing cause honestly I feel like he was a 100% on his own age (which was his honest mistake) and thus would have no reason to doubt his own math according to that. I have a cousin who I know is exactly ten years my senior so I use it when I need to calculate her age. I've misremembered my own age quite a few times this year so I would be liable to get her age wrong if asked because in that moment I would genuinely believe that I had my own age and by extension her age, right.

Story 4: He all but made her play. She didn’t ASK for the $100. If she asked, it would be entirely different in my opinion. Now, that said, if my partner and I went and he won that much, I would hope he would want to share some.
