I almost caused an international incident while in Morocco a few years ago. I was out to lunch with some of my students who because of religious reasons didn't eat pork. One of them asked me if I ate pork? I told him there was nothing like smelling bacon frying in the morning. Yes I loved pork. Needless to say I wasn't well accepted with the class.

I love regular cut bacon cooked crispy. BTW, after oven roasting, microwaving, grilling, or pan frying, the latter is my preferred method for eating bacon. The down side is all the splatter on the stove. The more hot grease in the pan, the better. So I tried my air fryer and it was a very close second. Delicious! The up side is that there isn't grease splatter! Awesome!

It's been so long since I had a new fun toy. I don't enjoy cooking anymore. It's become a chore, not something "life-affirming." The nuke and I go way back, but it makes lousy fried chicken. LOL. This air fryer keeps me amused, guessing, experimenting, like the early days with a microwave oven. I buy that nuke-bacon, 30 seconds till ready, but it's a decadent experience, a pricey one, just too easy to prepare the entire package at once. What we won't do for a bacon fix. So, maybe now I can bring home the bacon, for real.

It's really easy - just throw away the entire unit (please recycle) and use a new one....
Probably the best answer is to clean/wipe out immediately after each use, but who has time for that
What works best for me is - if it's going to have fats/oils/cheese I'll pull the basket out completely and line the bottom with aluminum foil to catch most of the drippings - or just line the inside of the basket with Foil/Parchment paper.
Bonus tip. Use heavy duty alum foil - the fan won't blow it around - you can fold small 'V's into the foil so air can still circulate underneath (like a folding fan) or if you're feeling lazy, just wrinkle up the foil in hand to make a bunch of ridges.

Everyone in my family likes their bacon extra crispy, almost burnt. I, on the other hand, like my bacon to be about medium done. Slightly crispy by still pliable, and even chewy in some spots.

I had THICK cut bacon and did 400F for about 13-14 mins and came out golden brown perfect. I think people really need to test adjust depending on bacon used and machine used. Start off with the 400F 4-5 min range and then go up as needed.

I know this is very basic but I cannot successfully cook bacon in my apt. It gets smokey, the bacon doesn't cook evenly and sometimes it almost burns. Loved this tutorial and your energy.

I’m so glad my method of cooking bacon in the air fryer is helpful for you. I have also struggled with some “easy” things in the past so I know how you feel. I hope you give this method a try. If you do let me know how it works for you. Thanks again!

You're trying to rush it. If the pan is smoking, your heat is too high. Try frying your bacon at a lower temperature. Medium is hot enough.

Air fryer is my favorite way to cook bacon. It cooks evenly over the entire strip. Sometimes pans can heat unevenly. Plus the cleanup is a breeze and for those of us who save our bacon grease, it drains easily into my repurposed pickle jar full of grease.

My wife is exactly the same way as to the extra, extra, crispy, fatty bacon as her favorite way to eat it. That, and almost burn to a crisp. In fact, when we eat breakfast at our local hole in the wall, trucker's cafe, the staff there get a kick out of telling her what she wants even before she can open her mouth to order it. They repeat that exact quote and always laugh at her when they do it like that. She had gastric surgery years back, and somehow this texture of bacon just satisfies her completely. Me, I am like you and enjoy a softer texture, too. Thanks for posting. I was thinking you may have the time incorrect for the extra crispy bacon, but glad you adjusted it and explained before you ended your video. I made the error of not going with the extra time on the very first time I mad this for my wife. She was not happy with just 7 minutes and then an additional 2 minutes. ;-)

What the heck is with those women? My wife also like crispy almost burnt out foods while I like more meaty, more tender and flavorful food. I make delicious sourdough bread and she wants it toasted killing all its flavor. I like my steaks medium and juicy, she wants it well, well done. So on and so on.

I have a toaster oven air fryer that has baskets and a grill plate accessory. Do I put the bacon in the basket or on the grill plate? Quick Tip: The appliance trips the breaker consistently when I plug it into wall plugs. Luckily, I have a plug on my stove that is rated for 20 Amps and uses the 30AMP stove line for power. So I love the air fryer over to on top of my stove whenever I use it so I can use that plug. I live in an apartment building built in the 1970s as a senior housing unit. the plugs are only rated for 15 amps (It's a safety measure since we have many seniors and people with mental health and addiction issues leading to an extremely high fire risk in the building. We have at least one minor fire in the building every month and had a major fire that destroyed two apartments in March of last year)

I agree also. It has way more flavor not being over cooked IMO. Just like any other meat. Gotta use the thick cut also if you want it softer. I just cooked a pound that my son had bought. It was thin bacon and it came out too crispy for me. So I'm going to save that for him. Cooking my thick bacon now so I can cook it like I like it.

Ya'll, please remember to clean the burner coils just above the basket. Apparently, it can catch fire. Also can cause the smoking of fryer and odor.
