Good info. Alton Brown taught me the same technique many years ago on his original cooking series "Good Eats", but no air-fryer back then (I learned a lot from that guy). I precook my taters in the microwave for a few minutes to shorten cooking time in the oven.
I fork my russets too but cook in microwave from 4-5 minuets or more depending on the size and amount of the potatoes. Much faster and still tastes great!
The skin is thee best part ! I like to save it till the last as a succulent dessert to my dinner! I love my Walmart ICONITES air fryer because is has a light button to you can watch and make sure you don’t under/over cook your food ! I used your recipe but I put Himalayan sea salt in the olive oil and the skin was amazing! Thank you for this video!😎👊🏻👍🏻
You can use a toothpick to test if the potato is cooked. Stick the toothpick into the potato, if it sticks potato is not done. If it goes in and comes out easily, potato is cooked.
I use a one-time use plastic kitchen glove to coat the potatoes with. Glove on, a small dab of EVOO, and roll them with your fingers, salt, and place in the air fryer. (Lowery's Season Salr)
I slice around the potatoes however I cook them, right around them when sitting flat! Sometimes if having with other things like cheese and beans or salad we have a half each.I use a straight skewer for testing
I will use my oven in the winter time so it will help heat up my kitchen and living room, but this would be really good to have baked potatoes in the summer and the air fryer like another comment or said 4 to 5 minutes in the microwave then 10 minutes in the air fryer
Thanks! I spray my potatoes with avacado oil. Sprimkle with kosher salt. Cover each in saran wrap. Microwave 4 minutes per potatoe. I line the bottom of the air fryer with aluminum foil, toss it to clean. Remove saran wrap. Air fry 4 minutes per potatoe. Larger potatoes add additional minutes to each step. Enjoy!
I use avocado oil and sea salt, using a thermometer for doneness at 205°. If cooking in batches, how do you keep the first batch hot and crispy while the subsequent batch gets done?
Thanks for the tip because I usually use an aluminium foil in my oven to avoid clean up and It works but, after I purchased an airfryer, waiting for so long, the potatoes didn't get soft. So I will test your tip next time without any aluminium foil.
Thanks I love the enthusiasm and energy I also appreciate the fact you are using a normal air fryer because mine is just a 50$ westbend and it smokes the competition so far 😅thanks again
I'm a single man so bear with me. Will the air fryer on my Black and Decker "big boy" convection oven do the same? . . . I'm still learning how to cook with this contraption. BTW I enjoy your videos, unlike some of the other comments I have read.
Very interesting, but should put the oil on the potatoes before you open the drawer. You are letting all the warmth out while you are doing it that way common sense ,to much chat is not required. and you should turn the potatoes Half way through the process a much better result.
Gee I wonder if you've ever heard of the wireless thermometer baked potatoes should be between 205 and 210 degrees for the inside temperature of the potato and just as baking a potato in the oven your potato should be wrapped in aluminum foil with the thermometer inserted in one potato you're making this cooking a potato in the air fryer harder than it needs to be good luck
Thanks for watching! Here is the full recipe. www.eatingonadime.com/air-fryer-baked-potatoes/
I love it when a beautiful woman teaches a bachelor how-to cook things! Thanks, Christina

Me too but I love how we are still sharing Good Eats 😅
4 Minutes microwave, 10 minutes air fryer. Done.
What temp?

@@JohannSwart_JWS Thank you.
Rub potato 🥔 with olive oil and Lowery seasoned salt. Yummy 😋

Thankyou.looks yummy
I have this same air fryer. Thank you for teaching. I’ll try them out this evening and report back here 👍🏻☺️
Yes! I did 4 potatoes. 400 degrees for 45 minutes was excellent 👍🏻 I will do it this way again.
Woohoo! So glad you loved it. Thank you for commenting!
Yum! tfs We have a air fryer and have used it once..haha I will be checking out your air fryer recipes 😊 thank you so much 💛Blessing’s
Five minutes in microwave first then finished in air fryer..Best and cheaper than full done in air fryer.
thank you!
If you have a digital thermometer, the correct temperature for baked potatoes is 211°F
It works well to microwave the Potatoes wrapped in wet paper towels for about 4 minutes, and then complete as you do?
Lot of people suggesting that, can't hurt to try it.
You can use a toothpick to test if the potato is cooked. Stick the toothpick into the potato, if it sticks potato is not done. If it goes in and comes out easily, potato is cooked.
Or stick an instant read thermometer in: 205 to 210 degrees F is done.
It's very interesting, but it seems you are the star, but we want to see the potato
Thank you ❤😊

You could spray the olive oil too. I have to have sour cream too.
This just prove anyone can make their own videos 😂. This one had me laughing throughout!
I just bought some russet potatoes today so I look forward to trying this, maybe even tomorrow
Thanks I love the enthusiasm and energy
I also appreciate the fact you are using a normal air fryer because mine is just a 50$ westbend and it smokes the competition so far 😅thanks again
Too much chat
I always watch these videos on 1.5 times speed (or faster sometimes).
Yes it is most aggravating!
Fast forward it.
I enjoyed her shares and tips. Thanks for making the baking of a potato an interesting tutorial 😀 Happy Holidays!
This vid could have been done in two minutes
I prebake them in the microwave on the potato setting.
I love you ❤❤❤❤
If you were only going to do one potato, how long would you do it still around 45 minutes?
Yes.
Kristen jones ❤❤❤
such a temptation for me to eat things that i do not need/are not good for me, do not have an air fryer
Rustic potatoes? If you're confused, I think she meant to say RUSSET potatoes. Russets are commonly known as Idaho potatoes in North America.
Yes it does ‘ On the front our your air fryer BEFORE turning it on, it has a label PREHEAT ‼️ 11/22/24 🇺🇸🌹
Ok sherelock 😅😅😅
Love my ninja insta pot best baked potato
Like we don’t know that 😢😢😢
Everyone shows the new style air fryer. But no one shows or is using the original one .
I don't think there are many left around from the 40's. There were no home videos back then either. Oh, and no UA-cam or even Internet.
What time for a single potato??
Time should be the same, as long as you don't crowd the basket.
Great video. I subscribed.
So if you don’t want it as fluffy inside, cook less of a time?
so this is how to cook something that takes four minutes and turn it into a 45 minute cook? You must be kidding me!
I'm a single man so bear with me. Will the air fryer on my Black and Decker "big boy" convection oven do the same? . . . I'm still learning how to cook with this contraption. BTW I enjoy your videos, unlike some of the other comments I have read.
They look great but let's be honest, those skins are not crispy. A regular oven at 425° for 60 mins gets you crispy spud skins.
I microwave them for 5 minutes first and that cuts the cooking time in half
😮
A hour almost to cook them 😢 the hunger would be long gone off me by then 😢
a potato that large would take at least an hour, prpob like an hour and 15 min
Far too long. Better way us to trick the potatoes, microwave 7 mins on high, then add oil ans salt and cook for 200 deg C for 25 mins
Very interesting, but should put the oil on the potatoes before you open the drawer. You are letting all the warmth out while you are doing it that way common sense ,to much chat is not required. and you should turn the potatoes Half way through the process a much better result.
5 -10 minutes in a microwave before using the Airfryer shortens the cooking time.
Microwave your potato. 5 MINUTES! Maybe 7 if you have a low powered microwave..
You look like you could be related to Giada De Laurentis
Video waaaaaaaaaaay too long.
Takes 5 min per potato in microwave.
Eat the potatoe already, talk, talk, talk !!!!!!!!
Why is it called a Bake potato? It's not baked in a oven
Not the brightest lightbulb....
Mucho habla 🧐
Sorry got bored
Haha when she said Drew Nevermore! Clicked off!!
Don't keep repeating yourself, get to the point
I tried this and they turned out awful. I cooked it the same way and it took over an hour and it still was raw in the middle.
Love them tater skins 😍
Why do people take so long to just give a recipe?
Drew barrymore? Time to block the channel.
Cheers 🥂🥂🥂
Oh lord😂 potato looks awesome
Talk to much
Don't watch then.
Rude too much.
40 mins long time
Blar blar blar blar, just get on with it. Stop with the waffling !
Too much electricity, better in oven I think
Thank you for showing me how to use a air fryer. I still hate the darn thing.
