I got myself a Ninja fryer a few months back and must say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. You can cook anything and it’s delicious. Plus…the electrical bill is lower not having to pre-heat an oven for 30 minutes. Great posting.👍🏾
This did not work well with my ninja foodi pressure cooker pro. The bread would burn, and no matter how long I add to the time, it would not cook the egg white all the way. Also, around the edge where the egg meets the bacon, the egg was no where near cooked.
@@rghig23 I definitely haven't tried it with every kind of air fryer. My air fryer is just an air fryer it isn't a combo machine. Maybe try lowering the temp?? Glad you tried it!

Egg on toast is so yummy. I have dipped my buttered toast into the yolk a number of times & it tastes amazing. So either that way or fried egg on toast would sound delicious. You can never regret egg on toast. It’s so good.
Yeah! You can totally do that. And depending on your air will depend on how well the bottom gets toasted. I have a different air fryer now than show in the video and it does a better job toasting underneath, which is awesome. Let me know how it goes and you are welcome!
Looks good seen someone else make tost with just the egg on it but she used a cup and used it to press a circle in the bread which the egg fit in and did not run off worked great.
You are very welcome! So glad you tried this and liked it. Have fun with that air fryer! I have several other air fryer recipes just search "Air fryer In the kitchen with matt" and you will find them. :)
Wow. I will try this. But being British I will cover it with microwaved baked beans in tomato sauce and it will be the ultimate British 'beans on toast' which is a very popular snack in the UK. Grated Parmesan cheese on top of that will make it even better.
Thank you for your recipe. I like crispy bacon so doing the bacon pieces for a reasonable period before arranging the bread, egg and bacon works a treat. The pre-bacon is also easier to manipulate to creat the circle.
You are welcome!! Yeah if you cook the bacon in the air fryer first for 3 to 4 minutes, it should still be pliable enough to shape into a "nest" to hold the egg. But it will also let the bacon get crispier.
Matt that is so simple and looks very tasty and delicious and very handy for a quick snack. I'm going to try that today but I will add an extra 2 minutes to allow the egg to cook a little more and it is ideal for a breakfast too. Thanks
Hey Billy thanks!! Try it like this first especially if you only try cooking 1. Whenever I do only 1 10 minutes cooks the yolk all the way through without it being runny (I generally like a runny yolk), but you will probably need to experiment with the timing in your air fryer anyway. Good luck and let me know how it turns out and if you like it or not!
I made it this morning and it turned ok. I just need to adjust my timing down to 11 minutes instead of 12 and I think because it is a new frier I need to get used to it as when I was setting the time It kept going between 12 minutes and and the heat setting so the time kept going to lesser time and by the time I finally got the time back to 12 minutes it would have got 13 minutes instead of 12 so I will start it at 11 minutes tomorrow morning. Hi Matt. I saw this on you tube and am trying it now. I had trouble getting the egg to stay on the bread and think it would be better to put a dent in the bread before we put it into the fryer.
Hi! Yes if you have trouble keeping the egg on between your bacon, use a glass and press it down in the center of the bread and that will created a dent for it. Did you try thin or thick bacon?
Ok yeah, try the class method to create a divot in the bread for the egg. Then wrap the bacon into a round shape around the divot and pour the egg in. That should do the trick. @@russdavis614
I just found your recipe, anything involving bacon and eggs gets my instant attention! I'm going to try this in the morning. I use thick cut bacon so I'll let it cook a few minutes first. Can't wait to give it a go. Cheers!
Matt I worked with engineers who repaired microwaves when they first came out many years ago sadly until the digital timer started to come in they found the common fault with the old clockwork timers grease from the cooking process got into the mechanism causing it to stick it is very rare these days to find mechanical timers unless on cheap models. Thanks for the bacon and eggs recipe in an air fryer I will have to try and work out the temperature and time on my Ninja model.
Wow, thank you so much. Been craving this every day, but I can’t be bothered to grill each thing individually so I wondered if there was a more efficient strategy.
Thank you! Let me know how it turns out. Remember if your bacon is thicker you may want to cook it in the air fryer first for 3 to 4 minutes. But thin bacon like I used in the video tends to work great. If you want the bacon more crispy then definitely cook it a few minutes on its own first. :)
I'm having trouble believing this works in spite of all the approving comments. I cook my husband's bacon every morning in the air fryer -- two slices of bacon, 350 for 6 minutes -- or 7 minutes, depending on how thick the bacon is. I would think the egg would be cooked as hard as a rock and the toast would be rubbery. I will try this, and let you know if it works for me!
Give it a try! I have done it many times and it works great. The time will vary depending on the air fryer. If 6 or 7 works well for your bacon, start with that amount of time.
@@MXB1973 Of course he can, but as the division of labor ended up in our house I do breakfast. On the other hand, he makes salads. Why do you care how we have arranged our lives?
How hard is it to clean the basket? I run hot water and Dawn in mine after I take the food out and it easy peasy after that. The sides if the basket get splattered too. I have a Ninja and it cleans as easy as a dish
Hey Matt I make two of these every morning since I seen this a couple weeks ago... I also add cooper sharp cheese after its done cooking and put it back in the fryer(don't turn it on as it is still hot inside) for about 15 seconds to melt the cheese.... but sometimes after cooking when I pull the basket out the ingredients are all over the place I mean the bacon is stuck on the sides the bread had flipped upside down and the egg completely drips through and cooks on the bottom of the container pan... very weird do you think it is because I use Petridge Farm thin wheat bread just strange that sometimes it works perfect and others I am scared to see... LOL... thanks!
You definitely want to experiment. I find butter the toast keeps the bread from getting too hard. I also break the yolk halfway through so it gets fully cooked.
Thanks Matt for this one. Recently widowed and bought an air fryer for smaller meals. Neighbourhood said this would be the way to go. You did the pep and popped it in and then started it. Mine heats to what ever temp you set it at and then it says “Add Food”. So guessing ten minutes at a full 350 would be way to long and I’d better be checking. I’ve used mine quite a bit already but haven’t put anything fatty in it like bacon. Worried about the smoke or setting the place on fire :) And getting the fryer clean again. Thanks though.
So sorry to hear you are recently widowed. Yeah it will definitely depend on your air fryer whether you preheat it or not. Don't be afraid to try bacon, but maybe the first time you try just try cooking 1 or 2 slices by themselves. Hot soapy water works great with air fryers, but again, mine is easy to clean because the basket comes right out and you can fully immerse it in hot soapy water, and it is nonstick so it cleans up super easy. In general though, once you get the hang of the air fryer, I think you will love it. Especially if you just want to reheat a slice of leftover pizza or maybe French fries from the day before, it works wonders for that kind of stuff.
Hello Morton, you can also buy small baskets out of heat-proof paper or aluminium for air fryers, and put the food in the basket, for some foods it really helps to minimize the cleaning. and always just try things out, as long as you stay next to it on first tries nothing can go wrong that you can;t fix immediately by turning it off and checking what is going on.
Hi Matt, I have a Breville combi 3 in 1 , which is a Microwave, Air Fryer & Oven. Tried the eggs & bread and failed miserably. The air fryer temp does not go below 400. Is that too hot?
Yeah that is too hot, it should be 350. So what you can try is cooking the bacon for 3 to 4 minutes first. Then put the bread in and form the bacon, then add the egg in the middle. That way you can just cook it for less time for an additional 4 or 5 minutes. 10 minutes at 400F is probably too long which is what you experienced.
You are welcome! Let me know how it turns out. Remember if you use really thick bacon you will want to cook that in the air fryer by itself for 3 to 4 minutes and then assemble it, otherwise the bacon may not get done entirely. And definitely if you like really crispy bacon then cook it a few minutes first. :)
@@susanfabian1521 Have fun playing around with it! Cook the bacon first in the air fryer for 3 to 4 minutes, it will still be pliable and you can still form it into a nest on top of the bread for the egg. Also, did you watch til the end? The egg yolk is still pretty runny :)

@@geraldinemcleod456 Just until the bread turns golden brown. 7 to 10 minutes is probably long enough.

Thank you! Let me know how it turns out. Remember if your bacon is thicker you may want to cook it in the air fryer first for 3 to 4 minutes. But thin bacon like I used in the video tends to work great. If you want the bacon more crispy then definitely cook it a few minutes on its own first. :)
Defently tring this. I have been addicted to BLTs for lunch or late night so this will be perfect. Thanks for staring
You are welcome!! BLTS are amazing one of my favorite if not my favorite sandwiches.
Can’t he cook his own?
@@MXB1973 Of course he can, but as the division of labor ended up in our house I do breakfast. On the other hand, he makes salads. Why do you care how we have arranged our lives?
@@dorothywillis1 I couldn’t care less Dot….was just a flippant comment. Crack on 👍🏻
Only two slices of bacon , I eat a full packet two eggs half a tin of plum tomatoes & 4 toast at least . 2 slices of bacon wouldn’t feed a sparrow .
WOW....I am impressed! Thank you!
Thank you, Jean! You are welcome!
fyi - parchment paper is a god send, amazon has a variety of precut styles ... haven't had the need to clean the fryer out in weeks
Yes! Parchment paper is amazing, I love using it.
How hard is it to clean the basket? I run hot water and Dawn in mine after I take the food out and it easy peasy after that. The sides if the basket get splattered too. I have a Ninja and it cleans as easy as a dish
I use it too 🤣
@@psdesert7907 Mine cleans super easy as well. Just hot water and dish soap.
Fun idea and so simple. Thanks. I would suggest including Celsius temperature since most of the world uses it.
Thanks! I normally do, but forgot to in this video. With that said the majority of my viewers are in the States. :)
I do it all the time for 12 minutes, perfect 👌 👍
Awesome!
Nice one mate! Thx fir sharing
Thanks!! You are welcome!!
Super Awesome!! I will definitely try this!!!!! Thanks!
Thank you!! You are welcome! Let me know how it turns out after trying it.
Tried it. Love it.
Awesome! Glad you gave it a try and loved it!
Hi from Australia Matt ~ fabulous vid on the bacon and eggs. Definitely going to try that. Cheers
Thanks for watching in Australia! :) Let me know how it turns out once you try it. :)
That looks yum. I think I might try that
Thanks! Please do try it sometime!
Looks so yummy ❤
Thanks!
LOL... thanks!
hi Dave!! Glad you like it and keep making it. Yes it could be your bread, I never have that problem. Maybe try it with some other bread to compare.
You definitely want to experiment. I find butter the toast keeps the bread from getting too hard. I also break the yolk halfway through so it gets fully cooked.
Yes! Depending on how you like your bread, bacon, and egg cooked, you will need to experiment with your particular air fryer.
Trying this in the morning, with my new air fryer)
Greetings from the UK. 177c
How easy and quick and no mess. Can you use airfryer liners
Thanks! I don't see why not :)
This looks very tasty for a quick breakfast. I got an air fryer for Christmas. Mine is different
It is a quick fun tasty breakfast for sure. There are lots of varieties of air fryers. The one I have is the classic or original style.
@@inthekitchenwithmatt I have tried making this recipe and I love it! I made a again about a week later
@@kendallsnell6106 Awesome!! Glad you tried it and loved it!
Thank you for your The Best Air Fryer recipe !!
Wish I knew before.
Thank you Matt.
You are welcome!! :)
I love his enthusiasm!
Thank you! :)
Awesome…will try it this morning ….thanks 😉🚍⚓️🇬🇧👍
Welcome! Let me know how it turns out!
Great recipe, Matt. Thank you.
Thank you! You are welcome!
Awesome. I'm gonna try that later. Thanks!
You are welcome! :)
I want to know is what setting you put the air fryer at. I have a bake setting on my unit besides air fry.
Use the air fry setting. Mine doesn't have a separate setting. Or try both, it is an extremely easy recipe to experiment.
Looks nice. Looking at your fridge makes me want to travel to wherever you are and spend 10 minutes flipping the handle over to the other side.
Thanks! haha
Great recipe
Thank you!!
I tried this in my air fryer and it was delicious, thanks matt from vinnie uk
Awesome!! You are welcome! :)
Very nice, thanks!
Welcome!! And thank you!
eagerly waiting for my air fryer just ordered online, this will be the first thing i will cook 😋😋
Awesome!! I also just released something similar for the skillet, check it out. ua-cam.com/video/xxph-59ipQg/v-deo.html
"Wow" tryen this. Thank for sharing!
You are very welcome!! :)
Looking yummy food for breakfast
Thanks!
Gonna try this tomorrow...thanks for sharing 🇬🇧🇺🇸❤️
You are welcome! Let me know how it turns out. Remember if you use really thick bacon you will want to cook that in the air fryer by itself for 3 to 4 minutes and then assemble it, otherwise the bacon may not get done entirely. And definitely if you like really crispy bacon then cook it a few minutes first. :)
Thanks for sharing an air fryer recipe!
You are very welcome! :)
@@inthekitchenwithmatt I'm going to do this to my liking. I like my bacon a whole lot more cooked and my egg yolk more liquidy.
