Just cook it like I do in the video, you can remove it a little less time. But most of the time that is a result of overcooking. While you can cook a fried egg in the air fryer, like I show, I don't necessarily think it is the best way. Nothing beats the classic skillet way of cooking an egg. If I can do it you can do it said the brain surgeon to the novice nurse ..Hmm..But many thanks I’ve just bought my first air fryer and desperately in need of help .
Yes air fryers are literally small convection ovens. BUT NO they aren't exactly like other convection ovens because they are much much smaller and the heating element is much closer, so they do cook a bit differently in such a small confined space which is how it can mimic "frying" without the need for so much oil. Regardless this is how you cook an egg in one.
did not work . yolk did not cook. white part flew all over into the heating element. apartment smells and is smoky. this was less than two minutes. used a small air fryer. never again
That isn't the point, this is merely a "how to do it" in the air fryer. I never said it is better than a frying pan. But if your burners/oven aren't working or you don't happen to own one because you are in an RV, small flat, etc. Then here is how to do it.
Because this is an air fryer video, for people who want to know how to do it in their air fryer. Like literally everything done in an air fryer and be done in a skillet or in an actual oven. That is not the point.
Dorm room cooking perhaps? I have a makeshift kitchen at work with an air fryer, rice cooker and electric kettle. Fried egg on rice is a super quick tasty cheap meal.
Sorry! You really can't do this then. No biggy just use your skillet on the stovetop burner, unless it isn't working. You could try to use aluminum foil on the bottom of the basket, but I am guessing the egg will stick to it, even with a bit of oil on it. But might be worth a try. But if your hob is not going to be working for quite awhile, you may want to buy a cheap cake pan that will fit in your air fryer.
How about you just read the comments of others to find out and you will see exactly who. I guess it didn't occur to you that maybe someone's oven/stove/burner is not working right now? Or maybe they have an RV with just an air fryer. Just because you wouldn't doesn't mean other people will not.
I am one of those people I live full time in my rv and cook almost every thing between a toaster oven, microwave and yes an air fryer. So I absolutely appreciate this tutorial ❤
Madness? It's an AIR FRYER video! Just read the comment dude, there was someone in an RV that didn't have a stovetop and another one who's oven was broken. DID I say in the video to do this all the time? NOPE! And no it doesn't take 1 to 2 minutes if you have an electric stovetop burner. Gas, yes is much faster. But lots of people don't have gas.

Can this be done using an aluminium foil formed as a pan??
Any risk??
Yeah that should be fine to create a pan out of foil the egg should weight it down so it doesn't get blown around by the air fryer.
I’m using a bowl
As long as the bowl is oven-safe you should be fine.
afrying pan is best

Can we use cake pan made up of stainless steel...
Yes, if you use it in your regular oven you can use it in your air fryer.
What if i want to cook 3 or 4 eggs at the same time? Any problem?
Nope as long as you have a pan big enough to hold them.
Very easy to do.
Real butter is hands down the best thing to use when cooking eggs. Seed oils are horrible.
Then use real butter if you want they are your eggs. Or use olive oil, avocado oil, or coconut oil. Tons of options.
Use EV Olive oil … much healthier.
Is that a baking tin,??
Yep just a regular baking tin for cakes. It just needs to be small enough to fit in the air fryer of course.
Can I do popcorn using air fryer?
While you can, it isn't advisable. The kernels can pop up and get stuck in the heating element and burn, or also damage the fan.

The baked beans & the Italian tinned plum tomatoes prevent the breakfast being too dry, gives you something to mush your toast into , to wipe around your plate & Into your gob & down your neck ,before you have a good old burp . 👍
Then you didn't try hashbrowns that were made properly, cooked in butter and bacon grease seasoned with pepper, salt, and garlic powder, nothing tasteless about them. And no, black pudding is gross, haha. I know what the baked beans are for, but doesn't mean I like them for breakfast, tomatoes are fine. When you have a runny yolk the breakfast isn't dry. Agree to disagree. Have a good one!@@maskedavenger2578
If I can do it you can do it said the brain surgeon to the novice nurse ..Hmm..But many thanks I’ve just bought my first air fryer and desperately in need of help .
hahaha. I have lots of air fryer recipes here on my channel. Have fun using it, they are great!
You can't fry anything in a Air Fryer, air fryers bake food just like any convection oven
Yes air fryers are literally small convection ovens. BUT NO they aren't exactly like other convection ovens because they are much much smaller and the heating element is much closer, so they do cook a bit differently in such a small confined space which is how it can mimic "frying" without the need for so much oil. Regardless this is how you cook an egg in one.
did not work . yolk did not cook. white part flew all over into the heating element. apartment smells and is smoky. this was less than two minutes. used a small air fryer. never again
Sorry to hear that. Works perfectly fine for me in my air fryer.
@@inthekitchenwithmatt maybe because i have a smaller fryer? a lot of my foods go flying into the heating element. glad yours works
Yeah that very well could be the case. Especially if it happens a lot with other foods.@@user-tp8wm4ze6i
Surprised it didn’t burn the bowl
I didn't use a bowl, that is a metal cake pan. Which is designed to be used in cooking. :)
It takes the same amount of time as in a frying pan. Don’t get it. Don’t we use an air fryer to save time. Well I do, for sure!!!!
That isn't the point, this is merely a "how to do it" in the air fryer. I never said it is better than a frying pan. But if your burners/oven aren't working or you don't happen to own one because you are in an RV, small flat, etc. Then here is how to do it.
@@inthekitchenwithmattyes, this is my situation. Our stove broke and we can't fix it right away. Thank you for the tips!
You are welcome!!@@katiehesterly9631
Seed oils ☢
Use avocado oil or coconut oil then if you don't want to use seed oils
@@inthekitchenwithmatt No plant cholesterol baby, only animal fats
@@Joe-kt7zp Bacon grease then!
@@inthekitchenwithmatt 🥰
No! It is NOT perfect! Good perhaps but not perfect as it has brown edges.
YES perfect. For some people the brown edges are their favorite part!!
Why not just use a frying pan?😆 🍳
Because this is an air fryer video, for people who want to know how to do it in their air fryer. Like literally everything done in an air fryer and be done in a skillet or in an actual oven. That is not the point.
If you use a frying pan, it doesn't cook both sides of the egg and the top will be runny. If you flip the egg you will probably break the yoke.
It's also healthier in airfryer
Dorm room cooking perhaps?
I have a makeshift kitchen at work with an air fryer, rice cooker and electric kettle. Fried egg on rice is a super quick tasty cheap meal.
Maybe some of us are having our kitchen ripped out and don’t have the use of a cooker 😊
Got nothing that fits air fryer
Who in their right mind is going to cook an egg in airfryer??? Do me a favour, ridiculous. I'll stick to a frying pan.
@@inthekitchenwithmatt Thank you so much for this 💖 I appreciate you!

Madness, use a frying pan, takes 1-2 minutes, talk about re thinking the wheel ,this is bollocks
You taught me to quit touching eggs with my bare-fingers! Good man. 🫡
haha
thanks Matt 😊 ❤
