  • If you're tired of dealing with painful muscle cramps, watch this video to discover preventative acupressure points that can naturally reduce cramp intensity and frequency. Regularly stimulating these points can help improve muscle tone and alleviate various types of muscle cramps.
Don't wait until a cramp strikes - these acupressure techniques can also provide instant relief when you're in the midst of a cramp. Pair them with deep breathing exercises for even better results: inhale through your nose for 4 seconds, hold, and let your lungs expand for 4 seconds, then exhale through pursed lips for another 4 seconds.
    1. GV 26 - Located two-thirds up above the upper lip towards the nose, use your knuckle to apply gentle pressure to this point for 1 minute. It may feel slightly tender. Combine this acupressure with deep breathing exercises for quick cramp relief. GV 26 is also effective for reviving someone who has fainted or for alleviating dizziness.
    2. Liver 3 - Found on the top of the foot, between the 1st and 2nd toe, in a hollow space as you move your fingers from the toes toward the ankle. This point, known as the "great rushing," can help relieve not only muscle cramps but also headaches, eye tension, hangovers, allergies, and arthritis. Apply pressure by holding this point on both sides of the foot for 1 minute. You can use your fingers, knuckles, or even the ends of chopsticks for stimulation.
In addition to acupressure, be mindful of your salt intake and meat consumption to reduce the frequency of cramps and spasms.
