Here is a guide on how to troubleshoot when your Mac to diagnose the problem to see if its just a simple cable or if your hard drive is fried.This is my easy solution that worked for me and most people Ive helped repair to fix that annoying Blinking question mark folder.

I've been without my 2009 MBP for the last 9 months or so and tried every sort of troubleshooting and CMD + all letters of the alphabet to no avail. I watched way too many videos and guides to remember but for whatever reason I dug it out of my closet and decided to crack it open to clean it out and I came across your video as a last ditch attempt before I took it to a repair shop and low and behold ....it's fucking working man. It was the hard drive cable all along. Update, it didn’t work :( I think something in my motherboard got fried or something…
I replaced my hard drive cable, my hard drive, and now i tried this adapter and nothing worked. What’s funny is before I bought anything, it was working fine and I had it in recovery mode redownloading the OS
