MacBook Pro 2012 13" Hard Drive Not Detected (Folder With FLASHING "?")

In this video, we have a MacBook that shows a folder with question mark on the screen. And, when accessing disk utility, it wouldn't detect the hard drive at all. Tried multiple hard drive, of which none of them were detected. So, the next stage of diagnostic was to replace the hard disk ribbon cable connecting it to the motherboard. That fix the problem and the hard drive started detecting again.

Mbp 2011. Same here. Not detected. Changed cable. It does see the hdd if I connect it to a usb adapter cable. Oh well.

How can you tell if it’s the cable or the hdd?

You didn’t show how to remove the sensor from the bracket you just replaced it with one that was ready

ive done replacing mine with a brand new and doesnt work. i have the same issue as yours, i tried another cable set from another macbook pro mid 2012 from a working unit and it doesnt work. i am guessing now it is the mother board problem. hope you help!
