Hi Ryan, nice to see your video. The pedal assist can be troubleshoot and fixed with the following steps: 1. Use CYC MOTOR App to increase the zero voltage threshold to 1000mV or 1100mV. (In settings -> sensors -> advanced settings-> throtte) The pedal assist should work right afterwards. This is because the throttle voltage at 0% level is higher than the zero throttle threshold and the controller registers that the throttle is engaged and thus disabling the torque sensor. 2. If it still does not work, please check while you are pedaling to see if there is human power on the app. If yes the torque sensor is connected and working properly. 3. Restore everything to default using the app.
"still easy to pedal". Thank you guy from 3 years ago, I've spent the last week wondering if I could use this kit as a regular bike still, it was literally the last thing holding me back on it.
Love the partial grip 1/4 twist throttle. Left rear right front 203mm discs. With a fast click Shimano shifter. Once you get used to it, you'll prob never want a thumb throttle or a full grip throttle. Best setup ever for riding wheelies. Especially left rear brake.
Just got mine installed. Waiting on the battery; should be receiving this week... Nice install The ASI controller should give you higer RPMs which will equate to higher top speed...
Hi there i got mine a week ago and i encountered the same problems like you, Speed and Torque Sensor are not working right. The speed sensor is working when i spin the wheel back and forth 2mm in front of the magnet but not if the wheel is spinning free. And the Torque sensor is ratling a little bit when i drive 0-3 kmh on PAS 5 but thats it. And sometimes when Stop the ESC or whatever it is (maybe my half twist throttle) is still putting some amps to the motor and its like a cruise control without touching anything, its confusing. But a side from that it putting a smile on my face every ride. Im looking forward to your next Video, keep up the good work.
I couldn’t get the speed sensor working on mine either. Eventually gave up. Works when I hold it close to the magnet (led on sensor lights up), but doesn’t register on odometer. PAS works great though. Especially in A mode. Zoom and it takes off.
Thanks mate really appreciate the effort U putting in to the videos and your trickedout build. What a shame about the Pas I would be pissed!! Hi man.. nice bike you built, can I ask you some basics ? I want to put this motor on my hard tail and i have no idea what im doing... What is the right gearing system to buy? I was looking at Shimano XT (1/12 speed) will that fit with motor smoothly?
There is a lot of variables but best to just try what you have now and you can always put a different cassette on later if you need to change the speed range

I just started looking into this. My idea is to use an older down-hill bike like this guy did, Beefy frames, big suspension, big brakes. I have a 2013 Kona operator that I’m looking to set up. If you go to the CYC web site they have templates you can print and pretty specific dimensions so you can do a mock-up. I did this for the Kona Operator and the X1 Pro easily fits in the frame triangle.
I have 6 batteries total. You can think of it this way, I have 2 18s lipos (66v) connected in parallel. Each 18s pack consists of 3 6s lipos in series.

bbshd is prob gnna overheat at 2500w. also on the bbshd, the motor mounts aren't long enough to have much clearance on trails especially with modern day full suspension frames. this is the most powerful mid drive you can get without looking like a dirt bike. meaning you can get away with riding it on the streets. no way you're getting a bbshd and controller under $500.
it doesnt have torque sensor which to people who are not completely lazy and dont just want a little motorbike makes the bbshd undesirable. its pretty strange bafang ommitted this essential feature seeing as torque sensor makes an ebike much more fun. there is a gap in the market for a reasonably powerful (ie 35 mph capable) ebike motor which this one doesnt as its too expensive. you've got to pedal properly when going fast to fool the pigs when bombing up a hill at 25mph. they are not all thick as shit carwankrs - some are actually bike literate. sadly the cyc is too expensive for my budget. hopefully the competition will inspire bafang to pull their finger out

For a bike to commute great distances, and be able to shift gears, a bafang 610 or bbs02 with a 48v 30ah battery (high ah cells like Samsung 50t) will combine efficiency of power usage with great range. There are more powerful designs than that but I think for what you asked, that may be the best choice.
