Looking really good so far..nice video
👍👍👍
Your style is like English Bob Ross building an Ebike. Very relaxing, informative, and enjoyable. 👍🏻
Thanks 👍

@@baconbuttties ah! Sorry! Love the channel BTW.
@@weaponizedautism6199 no worries 👍👍👍
Brilliant video, buddy. I’ll be fitting the Stealth version this week, which I suspect won’t be to dissimilar. My key takeaway is “a bit of grease won’t hurt”, I suspect I’ll be very grateful for this advice in a few years time.
A bit of grease can never hurt 👍👍
Great job mate thanks
👍👍👍
NICE Thanks for the video
👍👍
Really cool
👍👍
i like this company , i just saw a vid for CYC Photon !! i think i might go for that ,i like the look super small and light , this tech has really come a long way in the last 3 years
Yes it does look good.
I am waiting for the same thing, to potentially replace my Bafang BBS02 if they are quiet enough. It does indeed look very good, compatible with more bottom bracket standards, lighter, with torque sensor, and probably better built quality.. for a higher price but for good reasons.. I heard it should be released in January 2023 (?). Finger crossed :)

For bb motors, you could just rotate the bike on the stand to have the bike upside down. It makes it much easier to hold the motor in position during the install...
That's a good idea 👍
A bit "fiddly" 😊 is precisely what makes it so versatile in its Universal adaptability which is the ideal trait for a conversion of any kind so embrace it and learn to love it.
You don't need black double-sided tape you just need a Sharpie
It's a great motor👍
I think you can place 1/2 of this motor into the V part of the frame. Makes it less protruding under the frame.
Yes you can put it inside the frame triangle but for me it wont work as I am thinking about putting a battery that fills the triangle.
CYC created such a great design and I can't wait to see where it goes in the future...
Only thing I don't care for is the glass window and the position of the controller where it's the first thing to hit the ground but perhaps because controllers are more affordable than Motors maybe it's not such a bad idea
So me people have mounted it inside the triangle if the battery doesn't take up too much space.
How would that look ?
It's a nicely designed piece of kit, and it sits high up as well, another bonus. Plus it will blow any fancy pants factory bike away 😂😂
Yes it does look the part and hopefully will perform great 👍
@@baconbuttties it will I watched rob rides, and he seems to test high end emtb bikes, he built a bike with that motor and it smoked the Bosch motor 👍
@@acelectricalsecurity 👍👍👍
Yeah this thing is gonna be a beast ... 72v battery that can deliver 45Amps continous is crazy levels of power ... as bruno would say POWER ... Do you really think you need that much???
I only say this because is that back wheel ready to take that much torque generated by such a huge amount of energy???? lol... I know you'll go easy on it and up through the gears so as to not generate to much POWER through the back wheel... Damn zero punctuation in this post...
Love these video's keep them coming.
I would rather have too much power than not enough 😊 I won't be using all the power though, I will go into it gradually if you know what I mean as the power is mainly there for hills. Hopefully the rear wheel will hold up to my style of riding 👍
I am sure this bike will be limited to 15mph to keep the old bill happy 😂😂, so no need to worry about all that power
If a person ever wants to know how much peak watts you should be able to get you take. amps x volts = watts
Controller x battery = motor
👍👍
looks ok
👍
Hi, great instructional video, I want to fit the photon, has anyone had any issues importing from cyc or have people bought from in the uk
I bought mine directly from CYC.
I suggest you email them to ask what the delivery timescale is and availability.
With that battery tank you have being above the frame, you may be able to mount the motor inside the frame to the seat tube for better ground clearance
Yes it would be better inside as I have plenty of room.
@@baconbuttties reason i love this motor is i seen setups with it in the frame rather than under, than again takes some battery room
Hi, this is great information. Thinking about the stealth g3 to replace my current Bafang bbs02b.
I’ve seen some of these mounted inside the triangle. Did you consider that or try that install? I’m interested to keep the bb clearance (not that I’ve bashed the bafang).
Anyway good stuff 🙂👍
I could put it inside the triangle but the battery I'm thinking of takes up the whole triangle space.
Do you have a cheat sheet on drive tuning for high throttle performance? Or know where it may be found? Fun helpful videos.
Cheers
I haven't, sorry.
X12 controller I bet is gonna be on a whole new level 72V Battery with 5000W peak controller and 280N.M. promise sounds pretty good.
If you watch my other videos the motor blew up.
@@baconbuttties hadn't yet seen that exact video must watch it I'm interested what happened 🤔
your battery is gonna be at least 45amps if you still wanna hit that 3000w power, I think you might have to buy some motorbike gear when you start hitting like 50mph down pandy lane lol ig I hear some one screaming while I am in work I know its you :D
Hahaha ... I was looking at 50 to 60 amp batteries.... I will only be going 15.5 MPH at all times 🤔😇
Hi, thanks for posting this vid, will be very useful! I’m looking at getting this kit for my Vitus hard tail. Did you buy the kit direct from CYC? If so, what was the cost of import taxes/fees once it got to the UK? I’m yet to buy something from outside the UK since brexit and was wondering how much extra it would add onto the already quite expensive kit!! Thanks
Shipping was around £100 and is an express delivery once it is sent out. I think all costs are factored in, well it was for me.
@@baconbuttties that’s good to know. Thanks. Looking forward to the next episode!

What is the battery's run time using full throttle, thanks fella great channel btw.
I have to say that I haven't tested the range but with the battery I'm using (20ah) maybe 25 to 30 miles using throttle only.
@@baconbuttties Thanks for your speedy reply, one last question, does it have instant throttle response, great funny videos btw , better than 'rob rides', lol,
proper boring he is.
my controller just smoked lol. after its first test ride it would only go full speed for a few hundred yards then cut out. was told the wheel wiring was wrong, so with a cheat sheet for all combinations i was working through them when it failed and shorted out. fortunately i have fuse, and a good bms that spotted the short and cut power.
now awaiting spare parts, but i think i was maybe robbed on the controller it took over a month to get the wiring from the seller
It's not nice when things go wrong, hope you get it sorted soon.
@@baconbuttties still witing for spares. on the upside i have just fixed one of a pair of controllers that where the first we ever bought. only a 250w thing but i am going to build a legal bike from it for myself, but with a huge battery for range. i need about 30-40 mile unassisted for a delivery bike
Can I use a battery from my super 73 ?
It says it is compatible with 36 to 72 volt on the website
What is the difference between X1 Pro Gen3 5000W Mid-Drive and X1 Pro Gen2 5000W Mid-Drive?
Quite a few changes like 'X-SERIES CONTROLLERS' and ' ISIS SPLINED CRANKSET' but you are better of looking at the website or you can look here www.electrifybike.com/blogs/news/cyc-gen-3-upgrade-feature-summary
@ 1:24 it looks like there is a crack in the transparent window bolt on the motor !?
Yes it was, they sent me a new one when I told them.
@@baconbuttties glad to hear that CYC warranty is working so well. Nice job.

How do I reset to factory settings?
There should be a factory reset in the menu somewhere.
Which display are you using?
Mine has option for factory settings then factory reset click yes
@@baconbutttiesds102. I figured it out. Thx! I'm starting to question my 7mm and 3mm spacer placement for my 73mm bottom bracket bike. Cyc written manual says to put both 7 and 3 spacers on the non drive side but in the cyc UA-cam video, the guy puts them on each side of the bb
@@VietPho does yours not fit well then?
Mine fit good when I installed the spacers per the manual
@@VietPho 👍👍
Ordered one of these motors 3 months ago Said 10 day delivery, Still waiting,,,,? hopefully get it this year So far not very reliable
Have you contacted them to ask why it's so long?
@@baconbuttties They've contacted me twice saying it's on it's way? the reason why is they don't have the controllers yet, but it's been 3 months..!
@@monkeyhaters9258 Hope you have some luck and it get sorted soon.
@@baconbuttties Still waiting🤷♂️🤷♂️🤦♂️
@@monkeyhaters9258 that is a long wait.
Have they given you any further updates?
I think you should leave some room for yourself to move around the bike while building.just saying
It's by there for filming purposes.
It's the quietest place to do it
