The Photon is really on the same level as the BBS02, it's not really comparable with the BBSHD. I almost ordered a photon because of a bad prior experience with a BBS02, but the X1 gen3 stealth is only $100 more and has double the rated power of the Photon, and 50% more rated power than the BBSHD with the same torque. All the reviewers say the same thing about the noise, that it's exaggerated by the GoPro...we'll see. There is no doubt the BBSHD and the Photon are quieter. The X1 Stealth Gen3 has been ordered.

Initial response: Got this bike for my friend. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ Delivery was fast. And the friend was surprised I would order it when she had never suggested she wanted anything but the pedal bike she had. She has now ridden the bike two times and gives it a 10 and says it is very fun. We have some hills in our town that are very challenging to climb on a typical bike. But tonight she went up with the pedal assist and loved it. I was way behind on my standard bike, huffing and puffing. Now she is no longer lagging behind me. This thing is powerful enough that a person could go around town without any pedaling. She likes to get some exercise so on flat ground she hits the red button to turn off pedal assist and only uses the twist throttle when she's in a tough spot. The bike looks good. It is really a very nice bike for the friend. Now for me, when I get an electric bike, I'm twice her size and will be looking for a bigger watt motor and battery. But this one is just wonderful for my friend. I am happy with this purchase.

Right now I have a Modified Razor Mx650 that's currently 48v 2000w w/ a 30+ mph top speed but I want the 72v 6000w Electro and Co kit w/ a 60+ mph top speed but I want to get it street legal w/ headlight, brake lights and turn signals and a horn/alarm system... I'd use that to run around town so I don't have to use my car but I want a sidecar so I can do grocery shopping and I can use it to take my son on rides as well. First step is getting a welder and start practicing.... I've spent a lot of time looking for bike sidecars and I figured out I'm going to have to make my own or spend thousands on a motorcycle one and modifying it to work on a bike. LoL

CYC is doing very clever marketing by sending these motors to UA-camrs. The reality is that they’ve been doing “pre-orders” (for a couple months now) for a new product that has no definite ship date as of December 2022. Seemingly every review for people who’ve received a free test motor is glowing. And none of these “reviews” are tested in any long term or real world capacity. Taking customers money for months without shipping out a single motor seems shady at best. The CYC gen 1 motors had a number of issues.
