I have the gen 2 with the BAC855 and it’s been flawless for me. The torque sensor is excellent, it’s smooth and powerful. Very little lag, and it’s never cutout ever. I run it on 20s. So far I’m very pleased
Ryan thst build is sweet bro ive just ordered the eggridder V2 so I can program both of my bafang bikes the fat tire is 1000w and my mountain bike is 750w,
@@HighVoltageKits I don't have a BMS. Straight 18s lipo. I see you purchased the developer kit for the BAC. How has that compared to the bug fixes and issues coming directly from CYC?
I noticed ebike on ebay with this motor already installed. I think the noise would do my head in though lol. I have built a 1000w rear hub bike and it is virtually silent so probably build another for my wife. I do like the idea of a mid drive though.
Thanks so much for this! I am patiently waiting for your review using the ASI BAC855 with this motor. I think that is going to be me, but I can't order until I hear your review.
I took the ASI 855 out for a test ride yesterday. it's AMAZING. The amount of options for tuning are very in depth and a little overwhelming at first but CYC provides a good tune from the factory. The reason for no review video is that I ran into a reoccurring error that I want to get rid of before a full review. Don't hesitate to buy the ASI tho, you will not be disappointed!
My stock controller works great. Don’t have any issues like you have. I can’t get the speed sensor working. Tried it close like 4mm like you suggest, but still no speed.
Hey Ryan, I am thinking about getting this kit for my new MTB build. Do you still recommend it for someone looking for lots of torque/power? The CYC company battery line products are also pretty decent as far as cost vs the competition. Or would you recommend a different setup available now? Thanks!
When it quits on you, is it just the voltage protection popping it? Maybe you need an on/off switch on the positive terminal or even better, a kill button for quicker reset....?
Hi Ryan, I have this motor with 72v bac855 controller running 72v pack. I have new harness and have used the cyc app to bluetooth the latest firmware. I am constantly getting a 21H phase over current fault. Under heavy acceleration it just cuts out. Super annoying. Do you have any experience with this problem?
Anthony Steele Agree. Totally off-putting. Would never buy because of this. My geared rear hub motor is silent compared to this. Completely ruins the serene biking experience and one may as well get a proper dirt bike instead.
Cheers bro Can U do the same ride with new controller and pedal assist working or a similar type of hard off road trail at some point please. Good to see the bike getting ridden off road. Kudos PS. Outside temperature that day please?
Unfortunately most bike shops won't convert bikes as it is a big liability for them. I'm thinking about selling once I get a second one built. Really only have room for 1 bike and its fun to build them
Definitely better but still not perfect. Worth the extra $ tho. I have since sold the bike in favor of a custom built. 10k watts and a 4 speed transmission ;)
Just built my system... no PAS modes, and the same issue with the bike powering up with no load.. scary, real scary. I have decided to just disconnect the PAS altogether, for safety. I have to admit, I like the power, what I do not like is how power hungry this motor is, and in efficient at low V. I have been using a 18s 5Ah lipo battery, on the old v2 GNG belt drive, and on a new gng planetary "cyclone" motor... with the X1 motor, I need 4 times the capacity ,and 2 more cells for 20s to get the most efficiency. As for ASI, no, I don't think so, for me, I don't need a programming headache, and to be honest, I would be perfectly happy with a well tuned, simple 5000w controller with decent throttle modulation and high slew rate. If anything, I will just install a basic self learning controller, with throttle and manual cruise control as I have always done, and wait till the newer controllers are tested and in gen 2.... no way I am spending $500 bucks or whatever, for a programming nightmare, and more functions that I really need.
This video was with the stock CYC controller. I have the asi 855 now and it is far superior. No lag and very smooth. I think CYC is still troubleshooting the "phase current over load" error though. This happens when you smack the rear wheel down while on the throttle. Update should be out soon.
i also had the chain going against the bolt on the tensioners as well, even before the inital stretch, here was my solution, hope it helps ua-cam.com/video/zoFYRtdZi1A/v-deo.html

Where did you purchase the BAC855 is it on their site ?

From CYC
@@rickdavid1795 what batteries are you using ? I just see that cyc offers the battery as well. What do you think about that battery ?

5 in series for 72 volts

Great video's! Waiting on mine but with the BAC 2000. Can't wait. My bike is alot heavier see we'll see.
you can turn off the cruise controll feature in the app
Looking forward to you getting that BAC855 on!
If you are getting cutouts it is maybe the BMS on your battery tripping that the motor. Wide open on a steep hill pulls big amps even on 72 volts.

Go for the bbshd, its pretty well silent and if you watch my latest vid you can see it climbing the same steepness with ease on stock.
Stunning bike you need to make more videos

Ok bad ass Soo I should follow through with ordering the bac855 and the cyc long mount for my intense m9
Yep! Unless you have some extra $$ the BAC 2000 would be sweet and more robust.
Ryan V I don’t think the 2000 mounts inside the brackets like the 855 does. At least a that’s what cyc said on fb messenger

Cool stuff! did the BAC855 also fix your throttle lag?
Do you think it would be significantly quieter if you changed both chains for belt drives?
It would definitely be quieter but still not going to be as quiet as a hub drive. The gear reduction on the motor makes the most noise I think
I would like to order the motor but that lag on trails is very bad. Ho can set it to get instant power with throttle?
The stock cyc controller will always have the lag but with the bac855 controller I have instant throttle response
It sounds like a fricken remote control car though :D

About 25 miles heavy throttle. Maybe 40 if just street cruising
