Amazing cover of a really tough song! You're rushing the song a little bit, but that's easy to do when playing along with a backing track. Some guys like Stewart Copeland intentionally rush the beat just a little bit. (pointing out that it's neither implicitly good nor bad). Adrenaline also pushes things a little bit. Try adding a click track to your headphones (but not the final mix, obviously!). That may help you stay in the groove when covering guys like Taylor. If you find yourself still prone to leading that little bit, trying taking on some of the Police tunes.

Hell of a cover. Curious after watching this again at low volume, I noticed a good amount of rim shots on the toms, and wanted to ask if this was part of the original recording that tried to be preserved, if it was your intentional twist on your cover, or if this was unintentional and just part of being human and getting better. Asking in the context of dabbling with picking up the drums while really being a hobbyist guitarist and am trying to pay attention to details I have been overlooking forever.
