“The package” and “the noose” excellent songs from a masterpiece album 💿
Yes!!! Those are the two I most want them to react to next along with Gravity! They're some of the best tracks APC has ever produced, and that's saying a lot.
While the whole album is undeniably beautifully crafted and without a single skippable track, I basically had those 3 on constant repeat in 2003 for a long time. And every time I hear them now, I'm instantly transported back to that time.
The build up on The Package is utterly exquisite, the meaning behind The Noose is utterly haunting, and the musicianship within Gravity is utterly hypnotic. Really hoping your comment gets enough likes for George and Ryan to see it!
@@nonfungiblemushroom Gravity is my favorite on that album!
@@aviatrix7774 What an ending to a great album.
I really like Noose and Blue back to back
The Package is the best APC song regardless of album. Just my opinion.
This entire album is pure gold, not a single bad song on it. My favorite song on the album is “The package”, I know you guys would love that one.
The Package is the best APC song imo
The Package is the best APC song.. period. (: Would love to see them react to that one.
The climax of the song is so good I can't get enough of it
@@Nobody-zn3yv yess!! The instrumental part before the final chorus, and the rhythm guitar during the final chorus just elevates that song above all the others for me.
@@Gnix1996 I knew I wasn't the only one who thought that; such a haunting yet mesmerizing part.
Blue is an underrated one on the album. Super mellow and subdue
My favorite. Love it
Another great song from them I think you’d love is Orestes. The live version is a banger.
Absolutely agree!
I have adored Blue and 3 Libras since I was young. The nurse who loved me is good too
I hope they tour again soon.
They should definitely do the live version at round rocks cause that shit bangs
I prefer the album version. That song has more emotion in its guitar alone than 90% of bands full catalogs. Combined with arguably MJKs best singing, and Josh Freese leaving Earth during the guitar solo.
Billy howerdel might be the most criminally underrated compositionalist of all time
Composer?
@@damonteufel haha... I'm dyin'.
Billy is much more than just the other guitarist, APC is his band. He wrote 90% of the music. Maynard obviously wrote the lyrics and the vocal melody but Billy is the mastermind of APC.
This is one of my absolute favorite songs. Thank you guy's for reacting to it.
If you want to hear more killer dirty bass, do Weak and Powerless off this same album.
I concur.....beautiful love song
This drummer is the new Foo Fighters drummer. Hes a beast. Thanks guys and good jam.
Also NIN
The Smashing Pumpkins as well.
Man, Twiggy's all over the place. Had no idea
they did a remix called "Counting Bodies Like Sheep To The Rhythm of the War Drum" its very different musically but follows the lyrics storytelling even better, worth checking out
I totally agree with this, and was gonna make the same suggestion for the next reaction too. This version is great, but that one, through my ears, is even better.
Great tune!
This is absolutely one of my favorite heartbreaking angry songs
I came here to say exactly the same thing, but you said that for me instead!
I remember they used the remix “counting” in the trailers for the remake of “taking of pelham 123”
This whole album is fire 🔥
It's definitely one of the greatest albums in my book.
Start to finish there isnt a bad track on this entire album, over 50 years of listening to a very wide range of music and this album still resides in my top 5 albums of all time, just my opinion, but its truely a great album in its entirety.
Great reaction guys, absolutely loved it!!🌀🌀
100%. It's a really great, no skip, album.
@@dertodesking. 100% agreed.
Their arrangements are very well constructed. They do well with putting vocals and lyrics with music. Storying telling with the elements of emotion.
Weak and powerless is a must. Such a banger
This whole album is incredible. The Noose is sooooo good!!!
Saw them perform this live and it was absolutely an out of body experience for me
Pet is a beast of song so glad you covered it
Jeordie White was Mansons bassist (twiggy) during the best years of that band. Had the bulk of the song writing credits for Mansons biggest hits. Dude's a beast.
APC is also Billy Howerdel's band, he's like Billy Corgan is to the pumpkins
Funny that you mention Pumpkins, the current rhythm guitarist is James Iha.
What your describing at 6:20 is the sound of a heavy rhythm guitar and a distorted bass playing the same heavy riff that’s syncopated. Then you hear Billy Howerdale play the lead guitar over it while singing the harmonies. Also you asked what it’s called when they bring it down quiet. That’s called Dynamics. So you go from super heavy loud angry Maynard to a very tiny subtle pretty sound. That’s just dynamics. The solo section does the same thing. Heavy distorted bass and rhythm guitar playing the identical heavy riff and the lead doing its own thing over it. I’m such a nerd I just realized. So when you hear that BASS forward sound, it is in fact mixed really loud and the doubling rhythm guitar is mixed lower compared to the bass. I love this sound too
This is a great song. Their entire Mer de Noms album is great. Magdalena and Orestes are my favorites from that album, but really you could pick any song of theirs and find something great about it. Good pick here. Also, Thomas, Breña, Rose, 3 libras, and the hallow.
It's a concept album, listen in order for context on everything. Masterpiece album plain and simple!
The Package is incredibly good. The climax especially.
This song is all about the heaviness and the lyrics! The LYRICS!
Saw APC in 2003 at Lollapolooza. We all waited patiently for them to start and suddenly we hear “go back to sleep”, and nothing. Hear it again and the curtain drops, goes straight into this song. It was awesome. What a great song to start your set.
They need todo this whole album its a masterpiece
I've been following you guys since your start. You guys always put a smile on my face. Even when you do not like a song you guys critique it in a non-negative way. Kudos to Ryan on his articulate insight on the song! Much love and appreciation to you two. PEACE
One of my favorite songs
The band you showcased in the beginning is really awesome. I listened to that entire album and every song is a banger
Thanks for the kind words! New music coming VERY soon
A lot of gems in their catalog, one of my favorite bands. Thanks for the reaction
The band in the intro is awesome! This whole song it’s great and I love their other stuff
You died is the band name! Would love more of them!
This song is a prime example of the bassist being the most important part of a band in a lot of cases.
One of my all time favorite song from one of my all time favorite album.
I've been waiting for someone to do this that I enjoy watching on YT and you guys are one of favorite channels so I'm pumped for this one, I love this song!
You guys always bring the laughs and I just love how you know what you're talking about. Super cool.
God I love how eerie this is
Judith, The Outsider, and Pet are all some of their absolute best songs. For my money though, I can't say enough good things about The Hollow.
Agreed ! Three of my favorites from this album. The whole album flows so great.
I slept on APC for the longest time, i'm now pissed off at myself
ORESTES!!! You guys HAVE to do it! You wanna see PEAK Maynard check out the red rocks version!! Vocally masterful!!!
Putting my vote in for that, too!
You guys are more than just a reaction channel. You guys are accessible music critics. I liked Ryan’s point about the lead vs rhythm guitar - very astute.
ive been waiting on this yesss. so excited to watch ❤️❤️
Maynard can do no wrong on any song or any of his bands!
Pet is probably my most listened to song even this song is probably the definition of a perfect song
I love them. After many years of listening to them.... I love Maynard but I really feel like Billy is the one that makes this group sound so amazing. I may be wrong but damn.... His influence as well as his harmonies are super
This was the 1st song that really grabbed me and introduced me to MJK and the music he's made thru his variety of bands (2 decades ago!?)...always good to see the appreciation continued via others and their perspectives.
When you reacted to The Outsider, I was hoping you would hit this one. I was so glad to see this pop up on my feed. Another top-notch reaction....thank you for the countless hours of enjoyment.
The Hollow, Magdalena, The Noose, The Package and Talk Talk are all great choices next
Magdalena is probably my favorite APC song ever.
Magdalena live is amazing
Why does nobody mention Vanishing. It's such a good chill song to drive at night to. So many memories...
I think we should just forget that last album even happened
@@HiddenHandMedia I think it’s a good album. There’s good songs on there
So glad I saw them live on this albums release tour. Damn, they were good.
This is one of my absolute favorite albums and they play a hell of a live show! One of the best concerts Ive ever been to next to Tool! Great reaction!
I love this song SO much. It's cathartic
One of my favorite songs, especially as a father. The lyrics are so damn good.
I hate to be the one to break it to you, but this song is not about fatherhood!
Underappreciated group. Judith, by far my favorite.
My favorite song by A Perfect Circle.
The progressive nature of A Perfect Circle/Tool pulls me in everytime. Their sounds keep me plugged in. Nice reaction Fellas. 3 Libras as a request. Peace!
FINALLY! It's probably my favorite from them.
Awesome choice for a reaction. Also glad to discover a new band through your intro. They’re good!
Counting bodies like sheep’s to the rhythm of the war drum is a remix. Should definitely check it out
"Counting bodies like sheep..."
An interesting all star band, at the time of this album release:
The guitarist Billy Howerdel played with Nine Inch Nails
The Bassist Jeordie White played with Marilyn Manson
The Drummer Josh Freese (Freeze) played with pop punk band The Vandals
Other notable members have been:
Tim “herb” Alexander of Primus
James Iha of Smashing Pumpkins
I requested this over four years ago, lol.
This is my favourite bass of any album. There's so much love given, and emphasis on the basslines across all tracks.
omg i can't believe you guys reacted to a perfect circle!! i haven't heard them in ages lol. you guys are digging DEEP!!!
edit: btw i'm still in the middle of the video so idk if they mention it but james iha from smashing pumpkins is one of the guitarists i'm pretty sure!
Yas! I love this song 🙌
This album is a 'must listen from start to finish' for me.
Many songs will hit the playlist from these guys!! Whole album is fantastic!
A Perfect Circle - The Noose.
Such a brilliant song. And it is again very different to what you have heard already from them.
Follow this with Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums!
That whole album is fire! 🔥
Orestes is my favorite song by them, is beautiful
The Package!!
One of my fave apc songs
Friggin love this song!!.. This cranked up in the car is FIRE!!!
This song took a while to grow on me when I first heard it years ago. Then I left it for a while and when I went back to it.... My god what a banger..!!!
ORBIT CULTURE!!!! "North Star of Nija"
I saw them play this whole album live in Atlanta a week before the album came out
Josh Freese... the new drummer for Foo Fighters.
Dude has been one of the best drummers of the last 20+ years.
A Perfect Circle style is to have the bass and drums up front and the guitar just adds color in the background. That’s Billy Howeredell style as a guitarist
@LostInVegas Perfect Circle's singer is Maynard Keenan. The singer for Tool and Puscifer.
SO glad you did this one! I'd suggest The Noose or Gravity from the same album. Not quite as heavy but both gorgeous tracks.
Great song! Everything on this record ins fire!
Incredible song and lyricism 🤘
Killer Mike scientists & engineers
This is dope ..this album is 🔥🔥
Awesome video!!!!!
Def one of my favs
Y’all HAVE to do “The Noose” and “The Package”!!!!
The entire album bangs ..... dont sleep ......
Used to listen to this album back and forth. A masterpiece IMO.
This whole album is fire ! 🔥 I love this song.
Slick 🔥
The remix of this song is Counting Bodies Like Sheep is amazing as is the accompanying animated video
I've been waiting for years for you guys to do "3 Libras" of A perfect circle.
Off this Album 'vanishing' the Crown Jewel - so much 'The Cure' influence (the bass)
Vanishing*
@@nuhsing oh yeah thanks, that chorus imprinted itself
I recommended the same song. I have such fond memories driving with friends at night with that song setting the tone. Maynards' vocals are perfect.
Good job guys
Sleeping Beauty from Mer d’ Noms is a banger as well as the song Passive which was in the movie Constantine. You’ll like both
Love both versions of this song 🤘
Just fyi- there was definitely some sarcasm that got lost in Maynard’s delivery when he told y’all “here is the link between reality and the beyond” or whatever he said. He is not that pretentious AT ALL. He is a proud person I would say, rightly so, but not at all egotistical and certainly does not take himself that seriously. Much love to you guys 💚
I love this album
Ohh I’ve been waiting for this one ❤
Y’all
Would
Love
“The Package”
Gangster ass bass line
the drummer is the new drummer for foo fighter such a sick drummer.
