I've honestly given up on trying to get rid of my k.p, I've had it for ever literally Edit: 2 years on from this comment I’ve had one last stab at trying to get rid of my KP after my friend told me about the Cerave smoothing SA cream, it works miracles!! Apply twice a day and exfoliate.
Winters are so rough on my skin. We were just talking about bringing the humidifier back into service for breathing purposes but know it's coming back for multiple reasons. Thanks Dr Dray!
By your tips, it was a process of 4 months. I have used Eurecin UreaRepair 5% soap everyday in the shower and my arms, now are like a cloud! Just if I stop, it comes slowly back again. SA Cerave lotion didn’t work for me. I have spent a lot of money with all kind of creams, soaps in all these years, but satisfied with your advice! Thank you!

I’m crying right now because I just starting to notice it badly on my arms, why is being a girl so hard, I just hate having to be insecure and every pretty girl around me feeling like I have to compete but I already do so much to look presentable every day, life sucks
Things that helped me: Olive oil and sugar scrub Nair (Moroccan oil) not often like 2 times a month Crushed aspirin with a little water to make a paste Using basic soaps A clean towel and washcloth each time i bathe
Alexis Coleman I think maybe because it’s anti-inflammitory? It could help reduce or inhibit an inflammatory response to an overeager scrub session? That’s my guess, at least.
Omg I love this!! I’ve been watching for years, but never saw this. I’m actually watching after googling KP after being diagnosed with it and didn’t know it, but you’re right, it’s related to eczema.
Yeah when I clear up my hair from my kp it tends to look cleaner and isn’t as noticeable. I don’t hve the chicken skin kind I get the strawberry looking kind of kp
I scrub and moisturize it right after I clear up my hair and it helps. Ive been planning on lazer hair removal so I won’t have to spend so much money on all these hair removal products 😪
Melissa Darling I have the same issue, my problem is the black/dark dots all over. I don’t have the raised bumps, yet the only info I can find is how to manage the bumps, not how to get rid of the dots. I don’t think “strawberry” skin and kp are the same. @Drdray can you address this please and thanks in advance!
You look adorable with your Bob hair cut, que cute! If you ever decide to do layers, I had a Bob and a Shag combo haircut, and loved it with long layers. I have wavy and curly hair, so I didn't want layers on the back of my hair, just the sides and bangs.
Love your videos! I'm a FNP student, and love your opinions on drug store/OTC products. I live in a very poor area, and my patients can't afford expensive skin care products. Love that you're not a product snob! Ha! I recommended Differin gel to a patient this week, thanks to you! Re: KP: How do you feel about dry brushing as a means of exfoliation. Or possibly microfiber cloths. Thanks so much! Love your videos!
A few weeks ago I started using The Ordinary Glycolic Toner on my legs and the back of my arms (where I've had KP my whole life). I have seen a significant improvement on my legs but my arms are completely transformed! I pour the toner directly into my hand and rub it in then follow up with either Eucerin or Cerave moisturizer after 10-15 minutes (I do this once a day, sometimes twice). It's so cost effective too! The toner is less than $10 and lasts a long time. Please give it a try if you are like me and have tried everything else with only minimal results.
@@brgd9681 You need to use an ice cap since the skin is either high in temperature or irritated. It could also be a reaction with an acid the first days but if it keeps in getting red then use another toner.
Thanks Dr Dray for another precious video!! I would like to share my experience: I used to have KP on my arms. After laser hair removal, I noticed a huge difference. I have to mention that I didn't choose to laser my arms for KP, I chose to do it to get rid of the hair but ... happy surprise :) Have a nice evening y'all
I have had this my entire life but I was told by my dr it was eczema an given a large tub of basic cream an left to it . I can finally use the right products for my skin thank you.
Amlactin defo works but you have to be consistent with application. Twice a day (morning and night) has massively reduced the bumps on my arms but when I stop caring and get lazy it does come back! Best thing I’ve found to properly smooth out the skin for me has always been sunlight! Every summer it almost entirely goes away.

Hello, new subscriber here. Am having a very terrible dry, itchy and bumpy skin, it's so uncomfortable. Am glad I came across your video. Please I would like a product recommendation. Body wash and cream. Any one please????
Hi Dr. Dray! Thanks for the tips. Years ago, my dermatologist suggested sleeping on the softest sheets I could find (she did mention the expensive silk ones) since I tend to move a lot a night.
Thanks again for all the great info you share Dr. Dray! I have been trying to get the word out there (on other you tube channels) about how great your channel is.
Hi Dr Dray. Thanks for another great video. Love how you included the links. So helpful. Love seeing your number of subscribers increasing. Well deserved. I look forward to your videos more so then any others.
I cannot thank you enough Dr. Dray, my son would get these awful flare ups on his body with this and I just now figured out what it is with a little research. At the moment he is having it bad, it has spread to his neck and all over his belly. I will take your professional advice :)
Thank you so much! I have prom in just over a month and I'm so glad I stumbled across this video! Now perhaps I won't be as self conscious of my KP as I am usually! Thank you so much
To anyone out there needing body lotion that isn't 20 bucks a bottle that work for this stuff: CoCo butter, THICK CoCo butter. The one without a pump that you gotta scoop out by hand. I prefer it over CeraVe mainly because I can feel no shame about using extra when I need it. 👍👍👍 (Dont use it on your face, too thick)
And just an FYI, Eucerin is changing up some of their packaging (using red pumps) with a possible name change. For example, the smoothing repair lotion is going to be updated to "Advanced Repair". Thankfully, Eucerin's website shows the previous and new packaging to help ease the confusion.
Hi Dr. Dray what hair removal is the best option?, I have tried almost everything and nothing seems to work well for my skin. Thanks for your videos, you’re the best🎉💕
Alpha Skin Care has a 12% AHA body lotion that is very affordable. It also has no fragrance or botanicals. I don't have KP, but perhaps it could help for that. 🙂

Hi Doc, you are so sweet for doing these videos for our benefit, I have a mix of KP and Cutaneous Lichen amyloidosis. Do you know of any treatments for Cutaneous Lichen amyloidosis?
I know this is an old video -- but I was wondering... I have the bumpiness under control, but I can't seem to affect the color of the spots. They blanch when pressed and are all over my entire arms and entire legs, pretty bright red in color. Is there anything you recommend specifically for the color of the spots now that the texture is pretty smooth?
thank you dr dray!! i've tried all the acids you mentioned and out of desperation i've been trying the differin gel over the past two weeks and my arms have never been softer!
I’m Asian. I’m 28 years old now and I’ve been having KP ever since I was little. I have it on both back forearms to my upper arms, leg and thigh, and a little on my buttocks... it’s very ugly and I used to be very embarrassed of showing my arms and legs wherever I go out. Now, I don’t mind as much. I can say that all my siblings have it too, but on their upper arms only. I’m the only one that has the most. 😞

I have very bad KP and prone to hyperkeratin production leaving my skin super crusty and hard. I have a regimen sort of like my facial routine (not everything) , I have an exfoliating wash with exfoliating gloves(not on my face though 😅) 🧤 super gentle scrubbing, afterwards I follow (out the shower but in the bathroom humidity) hyaluronic serum all over the body and then a Shea moisture no fragrance body cream on the day but use an exfoliating alpha lotion at night with an exfoliating foot cream at night. Do creams like Veet would work without making it worse? because everybody says epilators but you said no. I wanna know for of us that are concer about the hair removal without harming the already existing condition. Thank very much for your videos ;)
Would the Cerave Resurfacing Retinol Serum help with KP? After watching your videos, ingredients found in that product seem to all be beneficial for KP -- retinol, niacinamide and licorice root (which you said could help with PIH, inflammation, lightening, etc). Would you recommend this for KP?

My 3 and half year old daughter has KP since she was probably 6-9 months on her cheeks and chin. 😥 I am trying the CERAVE SA RENEWAL on her face and arms, I'm hoping it works!
You said not to use drying cleansers, but my cleanser has salicylic acid in it... isnt that drying for the skin? I also have a soap-free bar but im not sure which one to use :/
Hello! I'm not sure if I have KP. I have bumps on my outer arms however it's more of an acne to where I can actually pop them. They are tiny! Almost like a black head sometimes! If you could shine some light on what I may have! THANKS!

Dr. Draycan you do a video of underarm pimples I've been getting them lately the last year they come and go what could it be I stopped shaving and let all the hair grow back and I just trim it with a scissor now I've been to the dermatologist he just put me on azithromycin can you get back to me thank you dr. Dray I love your videos I watched them a lot I've been using the CeraVe under my armpits .

Very informative. How about an eczema video?
Thank you! So glad you found it helpful. Great video idea. Make sure and check out my dry skin care tips video because the tips would really be very similar, so I think it would be helpful to you: ua-cam.com/video/qVoNUlArAoc/v-deo.html

My 3 and half year old daughter has KP since she was probably 6-9 months on her cheeks and chin. 😥 I am trying the CERAVE SA RENEWAL on her face and arms, I'm hoping it works!
Alex, did it work for her?
I’ve found personally cold showers help reduce the look of it but constantly need to monitor it it’s such a pain 😫
Dr. Dray would you recommend any Gold Bond products for KP?
You said not to use drying cleansers, but my cleanser has salicylic acid in it... isnt that drying for the skin? I also have a soap-free bar but im not sure which one to use :/
