Been moisturizing within 3 minutes after showering since I was 12 years old, and changing to thicker moisturizers in colder months since I was 16. Along with drinking mostly water and using sunscreen since I was in my teens, my habits are paying off. In my 40’s now but have been told I have the skin of someone in her 20’s.
wow that was like in the 80s right? how did you have such exposure on skincare. although it's a small habits but does people back then have such awareness on skin health? even nowadays I only see it hype since pandemic. so it's good at least
Make it a habit to clean your face gently in the morning and at night. Use sunscreen daily to shield your skin from the sun. Keep your skin hydrated by using a quality moisturizer, like liitllextrra rice berry face moisturizer, which is great for keeping your skin soft and nourished without feeling greasy. Make sure to drink plenty of water to keep your skin radiant from the inside. Also, avoid touching your face too much to reduce breakouts and irritation.
getting many compliments after using the riceberry moisturizer and face serum. have used three tubes so far. face looks radiant and the dullness is completely gone
This was so chaotic, the intro skit, the puns, the petrolaytum, the bloopers, loved it all... and will definitely use the greasy pan analogy to convince people to stop taking scalding hot showers.. thanks Docs..
I like to watch two doctors talking about skin care .. never in any dr appointments we get more than 5 to 15 min with a provider .. thank you so much for everything you guys do ❤
Cerave is incredible. This is how I know the sponsored segments are chosen carefully. Anything sponsored in your vid’s I’ve used and they’ve been incredible so far. Cerave is top notch!
I am literally putting cream on my body as I watch your video. I do it every night especially after a shower. I also use the CeraVe cream on my face and I don't even want to know what my feet would be like without it. I am so glad I found this channel. Ya'll are fun!
These guys are so right - moisturize right after the sower and slap on some vaseline over night. Another tip for people with hand eczema/neurodermatitis: use the hydrating facial cleanser as liquid soap - changed my life. Sometimes I don't even need a moisturizer after washing my hands.
@@bin4518 we don't need antibacterial soap. In Dentistry and Medicine they are no longer mandated because they cause breakdown of the skin barrier, leading to open wounds in the epidermis. This can lead to infections, eczema, etc.. One is not allowed to work in these fields with open sores and wounds. Also, the overuse of these antibacterial products have led to more mutation in the targeted organisms, making them stronger. Instead wash for at least 30 seconds then rinse with warm to hot water.
Guys, I use the green Cera Ve cleanser. It's super gentle and gives your skin ceramides and HA. If you wash with warm - NOT HOT - water for a few minutes then you don't have to worry about bacteria.
I didn’t have much of a skincare routine before I started watching y’all. I watched other creators recommend skincare products but the products you recommend are my favorites, and my skin is so much healthier now! Thanks for creating this great content.
I think as far as using the lotion or cream, you can actually layer them also. Use the lotion first, give it a minute to absorb & then apply the cream on top of that. Especially in Winter or dryer climates.😉
Cerave cream (not the lotion) goes on my face and body. Around the eye area and on the lips it works wonderfully. I love the way it leaves the skin - softer and nourished - and the fact that it isn't heavy and gets easily aborbed. A little goes a long way.
Hi, love your videos! The correct mesurement of humidity in the environment is Relative Humidity (HR) wich is a measure of how much water vapor is in a water-air mixture compared to the maximum amount possible, not Degrees Farenheit.
Until I understood that dry skin comes with age, the skin on my lower legs would actually hurt. I started using CeraVe moisturizing cream, and it moisturized for long periods and provided relief. Thanks for the video on this topic.
You guys are so great! I'm finally feeling like I can make some real decisions about skincare instead of just blindly trying products. Also, loved the skit!
Love you guys! Your videos are so informative. I have been a Cerave user for decades and use it not only for body but use the eye cream, facial moisturizers and facial wash. Thanks for showcasing Cerave!
You can buy the CeraVe Healing Ointment in very small tubes .35 ounce. It's the only thing that I've found for my chapped lips that is emollient and doesn't have Castor Seed Oil (ricinus communis). Thanks to another one of your videos I learned that my lips are reactive to this ingredient and it it SO COMMION in lip care and lip color products. I was in fact being treated with prescription steroid ointment for my constantly peeling lips when I went cold turkey on all of my lip care products and tried CeraVe Healing Ointment instead. Within 48 hours the peeling stopped and I've never looked back.
You two introduced me to CeraVe fairly recently. These products do well for me and are a lot less expensive than what I was using so thank you. Much wider range of product to choose from as well. Really able to target my specific issues. Your content here is awesome and you're both adorable. I'm a happy fan.
I use the Cerave lotion on my face. I’ve had difficulty finding a face lotion that doesn’t either break me out or make my skin look dehydrated. This one is a winner for me. I know we aren’t supposed to use body lotion on the face but it works for me. Not sure why🤷🏻♀️. Cerave psoriasis cream has helped my KP much better than the bumpy version. Again, no idea why but the samples have helped me test products out.
@Naiki Neshae You’re right! I looked at the bottle, it says body and face huh who knew lol. It’s a big bottle too which is awesome. Facial products are usually much smaller. Thank you, I wouldn’t have known.
You can rip hot showers out of my cold dead hands (but I do use cooler water on my hair and face and turn off the water when I’m shaving / scrubbing so at least it’s minimized) also taking oat baths has really helped me!

Love you guys, You crack me up AND have been invaluable in teaching about skin care regime. I'm a 68 yo male and haven't been so diligent in the past about skin care but you guys make it seem easy. Big Cerave fan here and Versed for my arms with senile purpura. I'm following it all with sunscreen, even on a rainy day. Keep it up and keep us laughing and learning. Thank you,
I literally just pulled out my small humidifier bc another dermatologist on UA-cam recommended it, but then I found this channel and I’m never leaving! Great info. Tysm. ❤❤❤❤☕️hot teas
I’ve been using CeraVe cream throughout the year on my face and body. I decided for a change because the niocinamide was burning my skin. After I shower in the morning, immediately I apply Necessaire body serum (HA), then Vanicream or La Roche-Posay lipikar Baume AP+M on my face and body. At night, just Necessaire body serum and Versed retinol body cream and sometimes I add LRP retinol mixed in for a bit extra. I also had water softener installed in my bathroom and recently, I got a humidifier. I agree that as you age, your skin does get a lot dryer. Great video!💋
A friend of mine turned me on to Cera Ve and it really does help my dry skin. I wasn't aware of all of the product line until I watched this video. I suffer from dry itchy skin so am looking forward to purchasing some specific products to address that. Thank you and Cera Ve for this video! And, you both have great skin.
Hello, for anyone with keratosis pilaris I highly recommend Amlactin. It's harder to find, but has worked better for me than the Cerave Rough & Bumpy SA products.
I’ve used the regular and the rapid relief, i think I prefer the rapid relief. Lactic acid feels really gentle on my skin, and the higher percentage in rapid relief worked faster without any negatives
Great info. I would like to add that I was plagued with itchy, very irritated skin on different areas of my body. No topical treatment really helped that much. I also saw my doctor about this. This madness had been going on for months. On my own, I stopped eating gluten. It took about 3 weeks to show improvement. My sibling has been gluten intolerant for years; I only developed this later in life. Her symptoms showed up as digestive issues. This might be something to consider when looking for causes of skin problems.
I am so glad I found you guys. I really like your knowledge on your topics & why, how, what is happening with your skin, all delivered with humor & empathy. Your chemistry, banter, the ability to laugh at yourself (& each other) is why I keep watching your videos. Thank you!!
The soak and smear method is similar to the moisturize and seal on textured hair to help prevent water loss and increase pliability and delay/prevent moisture loss.
Thank you so much for all this… I just found your channel a couple days ago and can’t believe how much I have learned and I so appreciate the fact you recommend affordable products…. Thanks again :)
I shower in like a step above tepid water. What helped me get there, was a space heater. I found I was using hotter water because I was cold. Now I warm the bathroom with the space heater for ten minutes. I also turn the water on for too hot for 30-60 seconds to get a steam started. Now I can shower in much cooler water comfortably and my skin thanks me for it. I also keep my body lotion in the shower. I pat the larger drops of water away with my towel and then put on my lotion while my skin is still super damp. The light steam in the shower helps too because it keeps moisture around my poor eczema strikes skin so I have time to moisturize before my skin can start drying out.
I keep my body moisturizer and face serum (my 1st layer) in the shower so I can apply after toweling off, but before I open the shower door. This has really changed my winter skin dryness….Oh, and humidifiers‼️ I have a large one in our open plan living area, smaller ones in my office (1/3 of my day), and next to the bed in our bedroom (1/3 of my day) 😊
My dermatologist actually recommended the CeraVe moisturizing facial cleanser as my hand wash because my hands are sooo dry. I've been using that for the past 15 years now. And also, the bloopers at the end lol
Make sure there are no parabens, i know some of CerVe products have them. Since I have given up sugar and eating whole foods I have found that my skin and hair are so much better. You know the old saying...you are what you eat. When I feel i want lotion i use home make tallow balm, cant get cleaner or healthier than that. Look at the list of ingredients that your body is absorbing when you choose. That's just my preference.
hahahaha love the skit- you guys have great personality and chemistry and sometimes that doesn't always come through on just the information presenting videos!
perfect video I have to show my 10 year old. She is freaking out about dry patches under her eyes and she is eczema prone and winter months don't help! I tell her all the time --- "drink water and moisturize your whole body! Not just when you feel itchy and dry! Moisturize everyday girl!"
I was using Vaseline as under eye cream as a 9 year old bc the folds under my eyes would actually crack open in the winter. Been fighting eczema since I was a kid....I feel your daughter's pain. At least there are really great products and information that is readily available now for her to use!
Get her a moisturizer she can rub on right after the shower, the moisture locks in and helps the lotion spread smoother, I have dry skin patches and doing that alone saves most of my headaches
LOVE the skit! You guys always bring a smile to my well moisturized face🎉. So I am a 60 year old woman and I suspect that a lot of your viewers/fans are in my demographic. I really appreciate it when you talk about aging skin and anti aging products and routines. Keep on keeping on …… you both are wonderful❤
I like CeraVe, but I'm a huge fan of Aveeno and Jergens, too. I don't have trouble with fragrance, thankfully, so some of the scented Jergens body butters are just marvelous for me.
Cerave, Neutrogena, Cetaphil, Laroche-Posey. I live by them. Mechanical sunscreen. I burn just looking at the sun so I’ve been using sunscreen for decades. Glad to know my treatments are now prescribed.
I’ve been using the Cerave SA Cream for Rough and Bumpy skin on my face and it has done wonders!! My face is smooth, clear and feels plum-pier and youthful. Definitely recommend it. 💯
I have combo to oily skin and have been loving the Cerave SA cleanser and moisturizer. Even though I am in my forties, I still have "young skin". The product states its for dry skin but it works wonders for me, especially during the colder months. This is the first time I am using a moisturizer regularly. The product is also affordable. Thank you Cerave.
I think dry feet is the biggest problem I have. You guys didn't get much into that. For anyone this might help, I've found that the O'Keefe Exfoliating Foot Cream is the only thing that ever softened my feet. I'm curious now if the Cerave products would work too. I'll have to try it out.
This was so much needed video as winter is coming.. I have dry skin since my childhood.. though it became better by time.. I use glycerin and emollient based products.. 😊
I have been using CeraVe products for years. When my son was in high school he worked for a Dermatologist, and brought me many samples to try. Last year I found a product that works great for my Diabetic husband's skin. It is the CeraVe Diabetics' Dry Skin Relief Moisturizing Cream. You know how the drying heat can dry your shins to the point you want to scratch them raw?? OK maybe you don't. This cream is thick but blends well and takes away the dryness and itch! Love it. I love watching you two too!!! ❤️
I’ve tried Cerave lotion before and it broke me out real bad. I use Klairs, it’s a Korean skincare brand and I LOVE it. Works great on my combination skin.
At a diabetes clinic, a doctor recently recommended Aquaphor for me, as I've had chronic and extremely dry feet for years and still do at age 58 yo, which the doctor said was not the norm as in my extreme case. In addition, I can't get a good sleep when my dry feet rub against the sheets - I need some moisturizer as a soothing agent. With Aquaphor, I was amazed at the transformation in a short time, where many other creams (Vaseline, Eucerin, Lubriderm, etc.) have never made a difference for me. The dryness and callouses on my feet started to break and flake off, with nice soft skin underneath. So amazing!
I wish people would do non sponsored videos when talking about what products work best because otherwise it just feels biased. Cerave doesn’t personally help me and actually gives me a burning sensation when I apply it to my dry skin.
You guys are so funny. I love the cera ve ointment and when I worked in dermatology I used those little tubs for my cuticles since as a nurse I did a lot of hand washing. The samples are awesome, we had those too.
Thank you doctors you two are great! I have been dealing with dry itchy skin on my lower legs. Cerave is a great moistureizer that I hae been using on my face for years. Just recently I've been using the CeraVe cream on my legs and it works great.
There’s another dermatologist on UA-cam that I’ve watched for longer, but your banter is way more entertaining and you dissemination of facts is easier to understand for us pedestrians. You SLAY!!! 😅
I've recently just got the cerave sa moisturiser and when I checked the ingredients it also has 10% urea which is great for strawberry skin as well ❤️ I've purchased the vaseline cocoa radiance oil as well to occlude it over top ❤️
Could you do a video on good body washes for dry skin/eczema prone skin? I haven’t found a soap I like and it is hard to find a “gentle” or “moisturizing” body wash that is also fragrance free. I love your videos! They are so helpful!
☝️☝️🎁☝️Thanks for being an active subscriber💕💕, you have been selected among my giveaway winners kindly send me a direct dm on telegram to the info above ☝️☝️to claim your prize 🎁.
Love your videos! Very informative and entertaining, enjoyed the intro! From someone who has battled eczema for most of her life I completely can attest to the NO hot showers and moisturizing within minutes after showering, really makes a difference.
I’ve been a fanatic about moisturizing since I was a kid - black, fear of being ashy. So many dermatologists have raved about CeraVe, but I can’t stand the texture. It doesn’t soak in unless I’m dripping wet - just feels like a coat of rubber sitting on top of my skin. I much prefer a generous mixture of st Ives and vitamin e oil.
I have never taken a really hot shower only because I never really like it! Because of my genes, I have always been “greasy” all over but Found that I am now passed Menopause, I have started to become dryer. It was a huge learning curve for me but I have snow switched to using “actives” and lotion on my face and the cream on my body everyday as religion.
Love both the cream and the daily lotion. They’ve become a staple. Not sure why it took me to my late 30s to get onboard with skin care but better later than never
And, as soon as CeraVe is cruelty-free, I will consider their products! Until then, your CeraVe product recommendations will fall on deaf ears!!! 🐾 Will mot use products that are NOT cruelty-free 😬💗
Try the Nakery. It is cruelty free. It has niacinamide, tri--hyaluronic, Shea butter, and squalene. It does have fragrance but it's natural. It's vegan clean beauty. I got it as HSN Shopping channel. There is also a body wash.
Patients routinely took supplies from my dad's medical office. Weird stuff too, like pins whose only function is to poke a body part and test for neuropathy. The end bloopers were quite real scenarios.
Creeping up on my 50th birthday in February, I've had a lifelong battle with oily skin. Dermatology and skincare has come A LONG WAY in that time and I've done my part to stop sunbathing (at 29)(yes, I know, but my teens were spent in the 80s when you laid out in the sun FOR 8 HOURS on a Saturday), stopped smoking, moisturized, exfoliated (physical before we learned about chemical), and now use retinol. Perhaps my naturally oily skin has helped keep some of the ageing process at bay, but that combined with some basic routine has SERVED ME WELL. I get estimated in my early to mid 30s often. That being said, your channel has brought an INCREDIBLE insight to the knowledge I have about my current routine, and why things I've been doing have assisted me in the last few decades. Thanks soooo much!!!!
in my late 30s, i m always looking for good moisturizer. have tried many different brands, nothing works. finally at 40, after watching UA-cam video, i gave cerave a shot. now i can't live without cerave. thank you, doctors.

perfect video I have to show my 10 year old.
I sincerely loved the intro. Just in time for the colder months. Thanks
This was so timely! I was just saying to my hubs yesterday that I was going to try a body oil bc my skin is suddenly so dry and itchy.
Cerave, Neutrogena, Cetaphil, Laroche-Posey. I live by them. Mechanical sunscreen. I burn just looking at the sun so I’ve been using sunscreen for decades. Glad to know my treatments are now prescribed.
The skit was awesome!! You guys rock!!
I’ve been using the Cerave SA Cream for Rough and Bumpy skin on my face and it has done wonders!! My face is smooth, clear and feels plum-pier and youthful. Definitely recommend it. 💯
@@Haryanvigirlishu I would say normal to dry.
Love you guys, but you're always best when you're together! I have learned so much from all your videos. Please keep up the good work. 👏🏻👏🏻
Gonna have to try the Okeefe for the feet.
@@BuffyNoir140 It works! Softest my feet have ever been. The "Exfoliating" seems to work the best.
also you need a cream with a very hight percentage of urea on your feet
Just got it and can't find any expiry date, don't think I'm gonna use it.
Before bed, wrap your feet up and use coconut oil on them and then make sure you exfoliate the next day.
The cream has been a holy grail since finding it. Anytime I wear it, my skin just feels way better.
Everyone is different you do you 👍
@@msk-qp6fn Uhhh, thanks? hah.
So amazing!
I had just started using the Cerave skin ointment and am loving it for my hands! ❤️
Yeees 😂 the bro-ey energy is what I imagined you two are like in real life. But never skimping on the facts, love it. More please.
I wish people would do non sponsored videos when talking about what products work best because otherwise it just feels biased. Cerave doesn’t personally help me and actually gives me a burning sensation when I apply it to my dry skin.
Loved everything about this video! Please continue to film TOGETHER!
You guys are so funny. I love the cera ve ointment and when I worked in dermatology I used those little tubs for my cuticles since as a nurse I did a lot of hand washing. The samples are awesome, we had those too.
These guys are so good. They bring great information in an entertaining and informative manner. Thank you both!
As soon as I start to follow your recommendations - my skin become much better! Thank you so much! ☀️
Loved your skit - you guys are crazy! Please do those all the time😁
i cant unsee Dr. Shah in the Colosseum bit. Now everytime I use my moisturising cream this picture comes to mind
we're here for the education...and the fanservice, giving the people what they need~
99% of my skin care routine right now is CeraVe because it's effective and relatively affordable. I've used the moisturizing cream for years!
Could you do a video on good body washes for dry skin/eczema prone skin? I haven’t found a soap I like and it is hard to find a “gentle” or “moisturizing” body wash that is also fragrance free. I love your videos! They are so helpful!
I look forward to your videos all the time! Funny, great chemistry but most importantly- great information!
What has worked for me for the past few years is The Ordinary’s hyaluronic acid followed immediately with Cerave body lotion.
good tip!!! ima try the good molecules hyaluronic acid toner with the cerave moisturizing cream right after!!!
Love CeraVe’s moisturizing cream - use it year round. It’s never greasy. Slather it on after a shower & have been refraining from super hot showers ❤

The skit lol! TYSM for this episode on body care 🙏🏼
Not sure why it took me to my late 30s to get onboard with skin care but better later than never
Love the intro! 😂& love your videos, they’re always so helpful!
I love cerave products, I keep the healing ointment in my fridge and mostly use it on my lips everyday.
I love this video! Thanks for always keeping things fresh. Cerave healing ointment and moisturizing cream are two of my HG products
I was LOLing at the intro. Love it!! Thank you as always
Your info about dry skin on my lips was great! I am using Vaseline lip balm and it has worked! Thank you!
Omg you two are the best lol. The intro had me dead ☠️😂
That skit was cute af, you 2 are so damn wholesome, I can't! Keep 'em coming
I loved the skit!😂😂😂
And thanks for the tips💕
This is perfect timing. I needed this! Thank you for all you do Dr. Shah & Dr. Maxfield!
Patients routinely took supplies from my dad's medical office. Weird stuff too, like pins whose only function is to poke a body part and test for neuropathy. The end bloopers were quite real scenarios.
I look at the eye drs (artificial tears)
That skit, and especially those bloopers made my day! 😭😭😭
I also have such bad oily skin, good to know it has some benefits! Is there any product recommendations you have?
Oily skin will be your friend!
in my late 30s, i m always looking for good moisturizer. have tried many different brands, nothing works. finally at 40, after watching UA-cam video, i gave cerave a shot.
now i can't live without cerave. thank you, doctors.
