Water ABSOLUTELY improves skin, glow, wrinkles. It will make you look and feel younger. I am living proof that this is true. The industry that sells products will fund "studies" that say water is not that important. Also UA-camrs that sell products will say it's not going to make a difference but that is a lie. Water also supports the joints and can improve pain and arthritis. This is a fact. Removing Alcohol will also help because that drys out skin. 3 liters a day is a good amount. If you athletic you need a gallon a day ( about 4 liters) You can also do coconut water for electrolytes. The proof is in testing it out yourself and seeing the results.

UTIs in older adults are often related to lower hydration. Many people restrict their water intake on purpose, for fear of incontinence, but it is counterproductive when the urine becomes too concentrated and irritates the bladder walls. I hear you- clean mineral water is totally different from what most people have access too and it can be incredibly healing. I also don't think Dr. Dray is denying that. I think she's trying to help educate for people like me who have been told again and again that if they just drink more it will solve a skin issue. I switched to only clean spring water in glass years ago and I drink a ton of it and still struggle with acne and eczema. Good water is a good place to start but it isn't the perfect solution for many of us. Water alone likely isn't the solution- is what I think she's pointing out here.
I feel better about my water intake after this video 😂 I tend to drink everything except water and sometimes drinking water makes me nauseous, but I would feel guilty about not drinking more water, so I would force myself to drink and it’d feel like a chore
It doesn’t have to be water specifically, but I only treat my UTI with drinking a lot of plain water or herbal tea : any liquid that doesn’t have caffeine in it. My UTIs are rare so 🤷🏼♀️ It’s not an old wives tale& logistically it makes perfect sense. You can get rid of the bacteria buildup that’s causing the infection in your lower urinary tract using antibiotics or you can drink as much liquid as possible, as fast as possible to dilute the bacteria & eliminate the bacteria by peeing it out. Generally, making sure you drink a lot of water doesn’t prevent a UTI. But once you have one, I highly recommend using water to get rid of it. I don’t know why the doctor has such a problem with that idea. Seems like avoiding antibiotics when possible is a good idea
I used to get a lot of utis. Now I know it was thong underwear and energy drinks. Chamomile tea helps, very soothing. Pound a bottle of real cranberry juice, then drink as much water and chamomile tea nonstop as you can for a couple days. You're right if you're quick enough you can flush it out.
As a teacher of middle schoolers, I wish it was more like when I grew up before the habits of bringing water bottles everywhere all the time. The sound when a Hydroflask falls off a desk to the hard ground nearly sends my students and myself into cardiac arrest.

Water alone likely isn't the solution- is what I think she's pointing out here.
watching this while drinking nice lightly sparkling mineral water
I feel better about my water intake after this video 😂 I tend to drink everything except water and sometimes drinking water makes me nauseous, but I would feel guilty about not drinking more water, so I would force myself to drink and it’d feel like a chore
It doesn’t have to be water specifically, but I only treat my UTI with drinking a lot of plain water or herbal tea : any liquid that doesn’t have caffeine in it. My UTIs are rare so 🤷🏼♀️
It’s not an old wives tale& logistically it makes perfect sense.
The obsession with electrolytes and amino acids is also off the rails. My moderate water intake and one Diet Coke a day hasn’t failed me yet.
Thanks a lot for this Dr Dray!

I have an ADHD and I drink water or tea all the time during the day, because it helps me to feel entertained and not bored by everyday tasks… Several years ago I would smoke instead of drinking water, so I consider this habit as an upgrade. Sometimes I worry if I drink too much, but it definitely less than 20 liters a day 😂
