- After many trips targeting these beautiful creatures, I have finally struck Blue Gold with my second bluefin tuna! It was also such a humbling experience to watch and capture my dad land his first Bluefin Tuna as well! 2020 is starting to look out to be a great year, even with this late start to the season!

Nice Ray and so cool for Eddie. Love that you ate the heart too! There should be an epic cooking with Eddie to follow!
There will be one in acouple weeks. Our fish is still at the fish processing place till We can pick it up.
Nice. My buddies and I got in on those bluefins this weekend as well. Keep up with the awesome video.
Lone Wolf thanks and that’s awesome! Glad you were able to get on them!
Well now i gotta book a charter! Thanks for the video i really enjoyed it
Thanks. Now is the time to go! Fishing is as good as it gets rn.
Dope trip and vid bro🤙🎣👍💪
Julio Chang thanks brotha!✊
Awesome video! I will be heading out Monday with my new camera gear and I'm so stoked 😁
How was it!? I heard there’s just foaming tuna everywhere rn!
Glad someone is getting tuna
Joel Zelda it’s been a long time coming. Been on many bluefin trips where I comeback empty handed. Stoked it finally payed off!
I was hoping this vid would drop soon!!!
Artour Martirosyan yeah I figured it’d be easy to throw together real quick since there was only a hand full of action. Glad it was enough to make a video!
great video! I always enjoy watching. my kids and I are hooked and always get supper excited watching them. how far out did you guys go? is Steve back to running the boat?
Alejandro Torres thank you I really appreciate that! We went out a total of 47 miles. Steve runs the boat on weekdays, but we were out there on Saturday, so Sean was running the boat for us that day
Nice ! I was on the Liberty 7/2 and my buddy and I caught over 60 fish! He caught his first yellowtail ever. I lost all three of my yellows, 1 snapped my line and the seals took my other two. No worries, we caught tons of calicos, cudas, whitefish... it was awesome. No yellows on the surface iron but all the cud’s you wanted. Definitely like the Mission Belle also. I gotta get me a BFT this year!
M C that’s awesome man! I’ve been dying to go cuda/calico fishing lately. I just need the game fish to stop biting for me to commit to a trip haha. If you want a bluefin, now is the time to go!
good fishing Ray!! heading out on the condor on Wednesday, just picked up a brand new AVET SXJ today, hopin to get bit!!!
Sh0gun _Brand0n hell yeah! Good luck man. Hope you get on them!
Very nice. Gratz to your dad! Gotta be stoked. They are very much fun to catch. Just went out of seafourth last week.
Thanks man! So pumped for him. And yeah they’re a blast. I already wanna go back out so bad lol
U and I both
Great video. Had great luck on the yellows last month. Gonna try my luck on the tunas on the 24th.
Ivan Vejar hell yeah! Yellowtail fishing was awesome last month! Good luck brotha hope you get on them👊
Que chingon saludos desde Tijuana Bro
Me and my three buddies were on this boat with you. It was a good time getting to meet you and your pops! Hope to run into you guys again!
Dansky adventures hell yeah what’s up Danny! It was awesome meeting you guys too. Super cool dudes! If you’re down to fish in the future I’ll make the mission out. Never fished OS before. Would be cool to get out with you guys. Got insta?
It was a good time out there with you and your pops bro. Thanks for capturing some sick footage of me! We can definitely set something up!
Congrats on the pb
Joel Zelda thanks man! Stoked!
Love your vids! I’ve never gotten a tuna, only a skipjack. I’d love to go fishing with you some time!
Follow offswitch charters on insta and maybe you can get out with us one of these times.
I rarely fish open party trips now. Mainly just chartered trips
@@Dirty.Hookers does he take PayPal? I just turned 13 so I’d need to get my parents involved if I do plan to land a spot on the fury
@@p.j.walker8196 he mainly does everything through Venmo I believe. If you DM him though, you can ask him that. Or if your dad like fishing, both of you can hop on board
@@Dirty.Hookers yeah sadly neither parents enjoy 🎣😔 they get sea sick really easily and can’t handle that much blood lol 😂
@@p.j.walker8196 ah bummer. My dad doesn’t do too well on boats either. He can handle a full day trip with motion sickness pills, but he doesn’t do well on overnight trips
Your new friend here, stay connected !
Yeeee
Joel Zelda yeewww!
INSANE
Dylan Bennett dude! So stoked! I wish you could’ve come!
Going out this weekend.. Is that the 8'6 or 8ft okuma scti you got matched with the cavalla? Sick video brotha🤙🏿 keep them coming
Mychal Cummings I’ll try to keep them coming as long as we’re aloud to fish! Thanks. And yeah that was my SCTi 8’6
Congrats! the next best thing to being there, is to watch you video.
Michael Carter really appreciate that! Got lucky to hang one this weekend. Glad I was able to make a quick video out of it
@@Dirty.Hookers Hey check out, it about those monster east coast bluefins, the part I want you to check out, is the cooking of the bluefin tuna at the end. It's pretty cool, I'm going to try it. ua-cam.com/video/KTOQD4bfKLM/v-deo.html
Michael Carter I’ve actually seen that video. I love deermeatfordinners catch and cooks! It was cool the way he cooked it ended up looking like tri tip
@@Dirty.Hookers Thx, I got my last quarter cut piece, to try that from last year, meat's a little old. Can't wait for my trip in Sept., I heard they're getting limits of WSB right now up out of Oxnard.
Yeah that’s my local area. the boats are killing it out here. I have a trip on the seabiscut next weekend. Really hope the seabass keep biting
Where does that boat launch from?
Nice work on those fish!! What rod n reel you using? I’m headed down there next week! Thanks
Wingshooter 831 okuma cavalla 5ll narrow paired with a Okuma SCTi XH. And a tranx 500 paired with a California tri-helix
Awesome! Really tryin' to get on my first bluefin this year! Love the content! What setups were you using?
Victor Clark rn is the best time to go! I was using an Okuma cavalla 5ll narrow paired with a Okuma SCTi XH. And a tranx 500 paired with a California tri-helix
@@Dirty.Hookers Awesome! Yea I'm going to try to convince my dad to get us out for them! Thanks for the info!
Victor Clark hope you can get on them! If you do, good luck man!
Way to get em bro!! What reel are you using at 4;14 silver 2 speed
SoCal-FISHING-760 thanks! Okuma cavalla 5ll narrow
Awesome video man! How is that Cavalla performing?
Can’t complain! Really like it so far. Best reel I’ve ever free spooled before! It’s a great reel!
Had too much fun calico fishing and lost my mini beater Walmart rod wit the lucky swimbait. That yt rod loss video was a flashback when I lost it. It went woop out behind the skiff.... im pissed now and learned a lesson to never leave rods on the rail
Matthew_Aviation daaammnnnn sorry to hear that man! No never leave rods leaned on the rail. Especially if you have something dangling on the out side of the boat
Sick! Just did my first Catalina trip and unfortunately did not land any yellows
SmokedOutHemi 2 thanks man! Don’t stress, Catalina is tough fishing when it comes to yellowtail. Every once in awhile it goes off, but otherwise it’s slim pickings
Bro your editing has gotten sick! Good job! Planning my next trip now, lets get on a boat together!
Getting Bent With Bo thanks man! I’ve been wanting to take editing a little more seriously, but everyone seems to want raw footage. So I guess I’ll just make short teaser edits for now lol
@@Dirty.Hookers do both, awesomely edited short clips
Hey man do you think a Penn Jigmaster 500 on a Ugly Stik Tiger 30-60lb would hold up well against those tuna?
As long as your jigmaster is still in pretty good shape, that set up should definitely get the job done. Make sure there’s fresh line on the reel and you’ll be set
i went out and the boat got 3 yellow fin thats it. The day was terrible. They should be coming back in from deep this week
vSaucyGod yeah Saturday was super tough fishing. We only got 4 bluefin total for the boat. I was very very fortunate to be one of the lucky ones to strike blue gold. But that’s tuna fishing at its finest. 1 day is on fire, the next day it’s a wasteland
How long did it take to land it with the tranx?
Ian White that bonito only took like 2 minutes
Glad you got fish, we're doing the Liberty full day 7/24, you down?
Dr. Harry Paratesties I would be down, but I have a charter on the Belle on the 25th. Really appreciate the invite though thank you! And good luck to you!
How are you liking that Okuma reel?
Was wondering the same, I just picked up a new Cavalla 5 for my Terez. My older Avet Jx got smoked last year. I haven’t used mine yet.
How was your live bait reel spooled up?
Anotherflores91 half spool of 50lb braid. Honestly would be ok with 40 lb. and the top shot I’ve been running about a 100 yards of 30 lb mono. Short 6ft leader of 25-30 flouro
@@Dirty.Hookers if your thinking about 40lb main braid line. I'm guessing that reel will hardly ever see 40lb leader .
What rod do you have paired up with the tranx?
Garrett Lambert California tri-helix 9’
What reel and rod combo you using?
Shadi Bader okuma cavalla 5ll narrow paired with a Okuma SCTi XH. And a tranx 500 paired with a California tri-helix
where did you get the fish hub hat?
jbettss that one I bought 4 years ago at Fred hall when the company first started. Been a big supporter ever since! You can message Drew on Instagram to buy one. @FishHub
Dirty Hookers nice. Thanks man.
Was thinking bout a reel in the 100-150 range for yellowtail, what would you recommend. What model and what kind baitcaster or conventional?
Evan Huang for that price range, your best bet will be conventional. either the pen fathom 25n star drag or the daiwa saltist 35 black gold
@@Dirty.Hookers Thanks for the quick reply!
What knot do you use fishing blues?
Gpettooh Florentini fly line, palomar.
Artificial, double San Diego jam
What kind of gear did you use for catching the blue fins
Joaquin Rosales 25lb mono to a 25 lb flouro leader. 1/0 circle hook
@@Dirty.Hookers thank you
Dirty Hookers = Great equipment recommendations,
Great target fishing choices, and best of all a "fun laid
back attitude/approach" to fishing. Keep'm rolling!!! (uTube videos)...
TheJwhollis thanks! Always gotta be out there with a good attitude in order to have a good day
The only tuna we get is the albacore run.
We haven’t hade that sense 2007
Joel Zelda you up north? I’ve never fished for albacore. Always wanted to though
Dirty Hookers I’m in the Bay Area. I come to SoCal a phew times a year.
Joel Zelda worth the mission for sure. What months of the year are best for albacore? And what boats would you recommend?
Dirty Hookers the best time is to go in November December. But they haven’t been around in good numbers in years.
Joel Zelda damn. I’ve always wanted to fish albacore! I’ve heard a lot of stories about albacore fishing when they were down in this area, but I wasn’t in the offshore scene back then
You like the mission belle alot i c
Matthew_Aviation they were the first boat and crew that got me into game fishing, and I will always be loyal to them! Don’t get me wrong, I love fishing the liberty, but I feel more at home fishing with the crew on the Belle
@@Dirty.Hookers The knowledge capt Steve has is amazing! Always puts me on the fish
zr1tech 1 100%! I’ve learned so much from Capt Steve. Would not be the fisherman I am today if I hadn’t shared the rail with him as much as I have
first
Alex Lin ☝️
@@Dirty.Hookers you should come to paloes verdes we have got calicos and barracudas everywhere and if your lucky u could get a few boneto but love your vids
Alex Lin that would be sick! I’ve always wanted to calico fish Palos verdes! And I’ve been dying for a calico/cuda trip lately, I just need the game fish to slow down so I can commit lol. Do you PV by foot or by boat?
@@Dirty.Hookers I wanna go on a trip or charter boat wit you so when is your next trip and we have a boat in palos vereds so we can get near the kelp and the break stones
My next trip is next Saturday, the 25th, on the mission Belle, but it’s a chartered trip. And I’ll be out the following weekend 31st overnight on the seabiscut our of Channel Islands sportfishing, hoping for seabass. You have Instagram?
You should plan a trip for your subscribers. We can probably fill the boat?
PACOLOCO559 ive been thinking about it for the past 2 years. It’s just tough to commit to it. I’ve seen a handful of charter masters get totally burned by flakes, and end up paying a lot out of pocket
@@Dirty.Hookers I'm in Central Cali. I prefer overnight trips. Maybe You can just book a date and who ever wants to join can make it gets on ?
PACOLOCO559 that’s pretty much what I’ve been doing over the last year. I don’t fish open party often, but when I do, I put it on my insta story so if anyone wants to join they’re welcome to
