    I have made these paleo version, used a tortilla press, used less scallions so dough doesn’t tear, smash it flat and fry.... delish

      Yes you can make them flatter as well. X

      I never thought about a tortilla press. That could be useful just to add to the home collections.

    Hi Heavenly! After seeing this video 2 years ago .. I decided to take the challenge. I made them exactly the way you showed on your video. My husband and I were very pleased with the results. They came out excellent. We made 4 and only had 2 of them freshly made. Put 2 in the fridge.. but next time we will eat all of them fresh. Another keeper to my vegan recipes. Can’t wait for your cookbook!

    Absolutely delicious! I made this using 5T of psyllium husk since I didn’t have xanthan gum and I omitted the yeast. I also flattened in my hand and closed it like you would a pot sticker. When in the pan I flattened a little more. Great recipe!

    So I just made your recipe..... DELISH! I was very impatient, so I put parchment paper (big piece to cover top and bottom of press)on my tortilla press, a small bunch of scallions,then dough ball, then smashed it, added a few more scallions, then smashed again, brushes with toasted sesame oil and salt, then fried.....OMG! Definitely have to order some white pepper... 😢 I didn’t have any. Super fast, so tasty. Many thanks, Fan

    • @seshadrisrinath
      @seshadrisrinath 3 роки тому +1

      @@HeavenlyFan There's 2 kinds that grow wild, they're actually considered a weed. The Oct through feb variety is a round stalk which is juicy but not super strong tasting. There's Jan-april may which is Triangular body and filled with a gel and it fruits into perl top with tiny onion bulbs. Those pearls are stronger tasting. In fact a week ago I harvested a mix of both. They're much smaller than commercial spring onions and I also suspect it grows all over North america just at different times. I am in SC and my season is fall winter for 1 winter spring for the other.

Since i am on a no grains and no lentils diet to reduce my sugsr levels and normalise my fatty liver i am sticking to other two flours. I will sure will try this pan cake. Love your channel ❤ I wish you could make more videos with breakfast and dinner ideas or full day of eating. Now, personally I am not vegan (I've been for 2 years in the past) but sometimes I am just fed up with the all the meat and cheese. Looking at other youtubers, there is just too much cheese and cream cheese involved which I completely avoid. Would love to see some recipes with lots of veggies that I can part myself with a little piece of meat or egg for my protein. Keto is all right but at the end of the day calories still matter to me, most of the "keto foods" are really high in calories so I personally think that low carb nutrient dense foods instead of high calorie foods would be much better to consume when trying to lose weight, even on keto 🙂 just a thought

    Clarify: is that course psyllium husk that has not been ground into a fine powder. I am trying to come up with a keto version of daikon turnip cakes. Do you think this flour mixture could be a substitute for rice flour. Love your recipes. Thank you.

    • @HeavenlyFan

      Daikon cakes (which I love too) are rice based so less elastic. The texture of these pancakes are closer to wheat flour pancakes. But I think by using daikon it would still turn out really delicious.

    Delicious. Mine turned purple brown. Maybe my psyllium was a different type. I noticed it was a lot darker than the one you used in the video. The only problem I had was that the dough was very brittle. I couldn't even roll it out without it cracking and falling apart. It seemed like I'd added enough water but maybe I didn't.

    • @frankstonsafranek4454
      @frankstonsafranek4454 3 роки тому +1

      It turns purple when you use baking powder with aluminium substance. The psyllium husk is reacting to it that way. If you use aluminium free baking powder, it won’t turn purple! :)

    New subscriber. Thinking of trying to convert into vegan keto. Having a hard time losing weight 😫 I've never had onion pancake but Iove the korean kimchi pancake. Thank for sharing.

      Welcome to the channel. I love kimchi too, but you've got to try these pancakes!
