Top tip, do 40g of coconut flour and 10g of almond flour and freeze for 10 mins just before frying, BEST texture !!!! Family couldn’t tell the difference between these and potato fries. Thanks for the recipe x
I was thinking that they might turn out crispier if I put them in the freezer before frying them. Do you taste coconut flavor? I don't like coconut, so I'm not sure if I should use it, but I do want them to taste delicious.
No coconut flavour (I’m a huge coconut fan) just a crispy outside and fluffy interior like real potato. I leave them on a wire rack after frying to crisp them up even more
I've had at least a dozen viewers ask me over this past week if I had tried these out, so I did today. I did coconut and almond flour versions -- both shallow fried and in an air fryer. Fan, you have a winner here. I suspect that there are going to be some folks on UA-cam copying this recipe and I hope they give you the credit you deserve. My opinion is that frying is the way to go (for me 300-325F for 7-10 minutes was the sweet spot). Also, given that most of us will be consuming this with some sort of condiment or seasoning, I think almond flour is the way to go (less carbs). Anyhow, great work!
Hi, just so happened that I had been watching your resistant starch experiments the last couple of days. Very methodical and with interesting findings. I'm particularly impressed by your ability to prick your fingers and not flinching! Glad you like the fries. Many viewers have been asking wether it'd work with air fryers so your comment will help them as I don't own one. Thank you for your kind words and best luck with everything. x
Hi Vincent, I actually started off the experiment with extra fine almond flour (the one I use to make the 1carb flatbread). They came out denser and crunchier, which was really delicious too. But with coarser flours (or ground almonds) I find them to be more airy. They're fluffy in the centre and crispy on the outside. Perfect fries :)
I don't give any thumbs down, but many of the ingredients she uses in her recipes are not good for health. Keto is fantastic when it's done with natural whole foods which eliminates everything in this video. Veg/seed oils are highly processed and not fit for human consumption...thankfully she is using a fruit oil, but needs to be very careful not to overheat and oxidize the oil. Glyphosate is very common in almonds (and most other plant foods) and I never met anyone that thought it was safe to consume...almonds have a lousy fatty acid profile as well.
@KristyStone-xq7or Or maybe they realize that veganism leads to deficiencies and malnutrition. Then there is the fact that modern plant agriculture is not good for the environment. If ethics are your motivation, sorry but salad is death on a plate without the blood. Keto (ketosis) is a natural metabolic state and very useful in many situations. The problems arise if it is used exclusively without cyclic (seasonal) breaks. If your not afraid to learn something new, I'd suggest searching Darko Velcek. Wake up you silly sheep.
@@johnmartinsen963 People who try and police ingredients on the keto diet are what's wrong with the community and turns other people away. Nothing more gross than a gatekeeper. Should you try and eat the healthiest foods on any sort of diet/lifestyle change? Absolutely. But keto is staying under or around 20 (sometimes a bit more for some people) carbs a day. It is NOT eating certain, specific ingredients. Even when done with not the best ingredients, KETO IS KETO. Stop trying to police and gatekeep what people do when they're already making such a huge decision to be healthy. I lost 100 lbs in 2 years doing substitute foods like this. At my goal weight and now I maintain. Been on keto for 5.5 years now. But the weight I lost, it was basically eating keto junk at first. Still much healthier than regular stuff. I make much better decisions now, yes, but I still was much healthier than ever before. Didn't even learn about healthy fats and omega 6/3 and all that until this year. Even if I never learned, I'd still be ketogenic and healthier than ever and you and other toxic facebook-group-type ketoers who spread misinformation and turn your nose up can't take that away from me or anyone else. "Keto is fantastic when it's done with natural whole foods" also fantastic when it's not!!! STOP GATEKEEPING KETO!!!
@johnmartinsen963. Everything you're saying is like....half truths....or truths that don't even apply to this video, so I'm not sure why you're bringing them up. 1. You openly admit she isn't even trying with unhealthy oils....not sure why you brought that up. 2. Heating healthy oils isn't automatic oxidation. Burning it to hell, or reusing the same oil left out in the air is what causes oxidation to healthy oil. Not cooking with it once. Also, she specifically talks about keeping the oil from burning the fries, which means she's not gonna have it on the highest heat level anyways. No oxidation. 3. You have no idea what kind of almonds she's using. She could easily be using organic. Anyone downvoting her for using almonds in an almond flour recipe video, is pretty dim and/or completely out of touch with their pickiness. 4. Almonds do not have a "lousy" fat profile. They have a fat profile. It's up to YOU as a person to eat the healthy ratio of fats. Almonds alone are not unhealthy just because they have higher omega 6. A diet for a persons long-term health matters over the course of weeks or months. Not with one serving of high omega 6 foods. What are these "many" foods she uses that are so "unhealthy"? She uses very basic keto ingredients with veggies, healthy fats, and nuts and seeds. The "unhealthiest" thing I've seen her use is a dash of regular soy sauce and wine. But it's a very negligible amount. Her recipes are also meant to enhance a keto diet. Not be the staple. This recipe is infinitely healthier than someone on keto getting a craving for fries and giving into it by going to McDonald's where there is actual rancid seed oil cooking inorganic potatoes.
I very hesitantly made both versions today. Hesitantly, because I'm a potato lover and in my view nothing can be substituted for potatoes - especially fried ones! The almond version is nice, but tastes like something entirely different. Doesn't even remind me of fries. The coconut fries on the other hand were such a surprise for me. So good! I have mixed half a tsp of savoury yeast flakes and a tsp of chicken-style vegan stock powder in, which did something magic to the dough. This recipe is a keeper, thank you so much!!!
Oh m’y GOD ! I’m going to cry! My husband has Parkinson’s disease and is on Keto diet to improve his condition but he loves his food and it’s so sad to see him deprived of so many foods but now he can have fries!!!! Thank you so much 💕
Back when I was taking care of my mother I learned that low B12 can cause parkinson type symptoms. The doctor prescribed the B12 injections for her and along with B complex and high doses of Coq10 the shaking lessened dramatically. I can't tell you to do that or give medical advice or I could get in trouble but that is what we did and it gave her such relief. I would use the methylcobalomin form of B12. These days you can even get the B12 with B complex injection from a naturepath or some chiropractors without a prescription. In Japan if your B12 levels are below 500 they put you on B12 supplements or injections. I prefer the injections for me because it can bypass the digestive system and get right to work.
I’ve found that if you want something resembling French fries it’s easier to roll the dough out and pop it in the freezer for a couple of hours, then you can slice it much thinner, as it’s not sticky at all.
They are amazing! I made a huge batch and froze them in single layers on parchment. Once frozen l transfered them into a freezer zip lock bag. Now when l want fries l pull out a serving and fry them up! Thank you so much!
I rarely post comments but feel like I had to... So I made the original recipe but I decided to try it as keto garlic pizza bread. So I didn't cut it to make fries. I baked for 15min and the I turned it and added some parsley and cheese (season the base with salt and garlic powder) and baked for an additional 5min... It was the best garlic pizza bread I had! I felt like I was eating something you order. With gluten... So now I'm gonna try it as a pizza base (I doubled the recipe). I normally make fathead with pork scratchings mixed with almond flour. It's great but this one really felt like the real deal! Recommend!

I'm not even on a keto diet. But I never found a better channel to learn the vegan and gluten-free versions of the 'Western' world's recipes. You are so important to me ❤️😂
I made these Heavenly Fries yesterday with almond flour (and have a log of the dough in the freezer to make chips) and was completely amazed. Thank you so much for the recipe! Cut these with a pizza cutter for less work!
I could not wait to try these...so made them immediately!.I tried the coconut flour fries...they are AMAZING. I have an idea that these can also be made as a sweet treat..if they are coated in powdered erythritol and cinnamon after deep frying them..they turn out like churros! Thank you for taking the time to experiment and sharing your incredible recipes!
I just made these tonight and boy what a surprise!!! I DID NOT expect these to mimic actual french fry flavor. And they did! My husband says you have just revolutionized Keto! Thank you for your "fail", goodbye jicama, hello... Well, I don't know what you call them but they're DELICIOUS!
I actually used majority almond flour but used about 2 tablespoons of coconut flour together with it. I often mix them in order to get a closer-to-all-purpose flour texture. That worked out well. I used the leftovers to make a poutine this morning. LOVELY!
Just made these. Closer to actual french fries than any ‘lower carb‘ root vegetable that I have tried before. I will be making these again. Brilliant discovery!
I usually am not into the videos with too much speaking but I learn SO much from you and your voice is very beautiful and peaceful. Thank you from Michigan!!!!
Your voice is fascinating. Never heard anything like it. At times you can hear the Asian influence in it and the British twang I love. SO awesome. Thank you for the recipe.
I made these today using half almond flour and half bamboo flour. The per serving net carbs came out to 1. The bamboo flour gives a crunchy exterior and browns well while maintaining the soft-smooth texture one wants in the center. The overall result was amazing. Whenever I get a craving for french fries, I now have a great solution. I did discover if the oil gets too hot the fries can explode (so be careful).
I'm allergic to nightshades, so I haven't had a French fry in over 15 years. I can not even tell you how excited I am to try these! I am so grateful for this recipe. Thank you ❤
I really hope this channel blows up. She does good, reliable recipes - never would have dreamed in a million years I'd be able to eat dumplings, buns, or garlic breads while on keto.
I just finished a vegan keto mushroom burger topped with guacamole and onion with the coconut flour fries dipped in BBQ sauce and feel like I just left a restaurant. This woman has given me new life! 💕💕💕😋
These are amazing! I was seriously doubtful, but they are exactly like fast-food fries! Game changer! Thank you! I did use fine almond flour, and added 1/8 tsp baking soda. Fries were fluffy inside and crunchy outside.
Just wanted to let you know that I made the coconut flour fries, and I loved them. I've made them a few times now, and they are really good,. My daughter came for tea the other day, she eats low carb, so I made her some for tea, and she loved them as well. Thank you so much the recipe. 🥰🇬🇧🐾🐾🎄☃️❄️💖
Heavenly Fan I just did my coconut flour keto fries and honey this is a game changer.. Thank you so much. My son whose 18, loves them. He said they were better than regular fries. LOL!! I did both airfryer and pan fried. I think I cooked the airfryer ones too long but they were still good a littler darker in color than the pan fried. I also used G Hughes Sugar free Hickory BBQ sauce for dipping and baaabeee let me tell you.. Ohh yes this is a game changer here.. Thank you so very much for putting fries back into my life. I can eat these guilt free. Sooo good.
Omg you guys I made fries with this dough AND pizza crust! Must try. I was sick and tired of cauliflower crust. This is a game changer. Thank you so much for this!
It's such a pleasure to see a messy, practical UA-camr instead of all the picture-perfect videos we see these days. Thank you. You help me retain some of my self-confidence when trying these.
These are absolutely delicious Fan! What I do is roll my dough into a small log and refrigerate and then once refrigerated I cut them into thin silver dollar fries I.E circles and it makes the shallow frying so much easier than trying to fry french fries on all sides!
Almond ones are crispy but a course texture with an "almondy" taste, the coconut version however I think most people would be hard pressed to know it wasn't a potato chip; smooth enough too, crispy outside and fluffy inside - excellent, many thanks for the recipe and sharing it.
I have seen quite a few keto channels this week that have been excited to share your recipe for the fries. I am so happy to see ALL of them give you and your channel credit for coming up with this recipe. So happy for your success and I believe this recipe will bring you lots more subscribers! Congratulations!!
You are a GENIUS. Just made these with almond flour. Honestly I don’t know how possibly is this. These are French fries made with potatoes 🥔 🙂. My 9 years old couldn’t taste the difference. Thank you so much for sharing
If you bake these in the air fryer or oven they make the best bread sticks. Bake them then add garlic and olive oil and bake another couple mins. Fried yep they’re good as French fries. I used coconut flour because I’m allergic to almonds.
Omg!!! Cheeseburgers & Fan fries!!!! keto life is complete. 🤗 You are Amazing. I love how someone just stumbles across something by accident and changes the game. You just sent keto life to a whole nother LEVEL!!! 💯🌟🌟

This is THE BEST keto fry out there! Thank you so much! I wish you all the best and hope endorsements will start pouring in for you, as you have saved many keto lives! 😍 Keep the experiments coming!
I made two batches of these almond flour ones. We put one batch into cinnamon and erythritol and one batch with pink salt. Hubby, who normally turns his nose up at most keto treat attempts was like... hey these are like churros!! Next time I am going to make some keto caramel sauce as a dip as well. Well done Heavenly Fan!
So many people are posting videos on this without crediting you in the video. I’m upset for you! It doesn’t matter if they credit in the description box. They need to say it in the video.
We should start gently or loudly calling them out in the comment section. This will get their attention, so they'll remember in the future or edit their videos to give the original creators credit. 😉
We are very protective of our creators. I saw one and she didn't mention Fan at all except in the description. She probably only did it cuz people called her out on it. I won't watch her channel because of it.

An absolute game-changer!!! Last year, I spent a week in the kitchen with loads of different vegetables, trying to recreate the potato french-fry... Whilst all were edible, NONE were true french-fries like yours! A HUGE thank you from the UK... John xx
I just tried making this with the coconut flour. Not nearly as smooth as your dough but they tasted sooooo good! I mistakenly cut them a little too thick and they puffed up a little bit and tasted exactly like a mall pretzel 🥨 my daughter and I tried it with cheese dip and fell in love. I will be using this dough for many things. Thank you!
You are the best!!! My daughter recently started a keto diet and was becoming disheartened with her lack of food choices. You have saved the day!! Great recipes and I LOVE your style! So relaxing to watch your videos!! THANK YOU SO MICH!!!
We've spent so much time trying to find another veggie to make fries out of that we didn't even think of these. So great! Made them this morning, turned out awesome
Just made these for the first time. I have seen multiple people rave about the almond flour version so I was going to make those but I ran out of almond flour. I used coconut flour but put beef bouillon in the water and added salt to the dough. I can not believe how good these are! My husband loved them and my son said they are better than regular fries! YUMTASTIC! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for sharing this with us. So easy and I can't wait to try it for my son who is on a very restricted low carb diet. He is always craving french fries and we always have to say "no". Not anymore!! 🥳 Many blessings to you!

I am so thrilled! What a wonderful recipe and thank you for working so hard to make low carb/keto sustainable!
I substituted tapioca flour for the xanthan gum and they still came out delish- I imagine keeping the oil in the saute range does not let it morph to something less than healthy. Thank You 💙
I made the coconut flour version and my non-keto husband and daughter fell in love with them. They are great I had to make a second batch because my daughter couldn’t stop eating them. 😋 Thanks for sharing.

I have fallen in love with Heavenly Fan and her channel! So wonderfully explained without any shortcuts.. I have tried two recipes from this channel and both came out very well.. I tried the coconut fries today and it tasted awesome!
Made these. Wonderful! Made them a couple times. The second time I added a lot more water. Probably around 1/2 cup more water. The dough was very soft. Wet, but not watery. Too sticky to roll, so I plopped it on a cutting board and used a butter knife , flat side, to mash out. I did it pretty thin, may be 1/4" thick, and used same butter knife to cut them really thin. They still held together. I dropped each one, off the knife, into hot oil. They puffed up more than the first version did. I made them thin like this because my husband used to love McDonald's fries. Anyway, they turned out beautiful! He came in the door, and I already had 2 dipped in ketchup, ready for him. He thought they were McDonald's. They also reheat great in the air fryer. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Almost forgot, I made a batch, using original coconut recipe, and cut into random fried potato shapes and had them for home fries with onions and peppers. Kind of a cross between tater tot and potato. Also good! Also, only made the coconut flour version. Thanks again!
I see some of my favorite keto youtubers here, saying that these are a winner, and wanting to give you credit, so I think you need to name these ‘Heavenly Keto Fries’!😇🤩🥳
@Joe Bloggs First of all, quantities; you use so little, as you saw in the recipe. Secondly, the carbs are all fiber. They are not absorbed in your intestines as a nutrient, but they do feed your gut biome. Also, remember there are the two 'schools' of keto, where one, the more purists, don't distinguish between carbs whether sugars or fibers, and then there's the other, where it's all about 'net carbs', ie. the amount of carbs you actually absorb (total carbs minus fibers and some sugar alcohols, specifically erithytol and xylitol). Most importantly is to find out how your body react to these values, we're all different. Measure your blood sugar levels, eat a serving of this, wait 60 mins, measure again, three times 30 mins apart, and then conclude whether they are 'keto' for you or not.
Absolutely wonderful. And thank you for including many fine details ie, the textures of the 2 flours; the uneven edge of the coconut as you roll it out. I’ll be making these at my next opportunity, and you patient manner of presenting the material will definitely have me exploring more of your channel!
I just want to let you know that these just changed my life! They were delicious! And very fry-like! I've tried a ton of low carb fry recipes in the last 12 years and these are the only ones that really did it for me!! Thank you so much for your creation!
Oh my god I made the almond flour fries today and they were amazing. Even my hubby enjoyed them and he's not keen on low carb stuff. Thank you so much, you're a angel 😍

I’ve used the “Heavenly Fan dough” to make tortillas and they came out amazingly! Tasted very similar corn tortilla and remained pliable. I believe that this is a staple for me now as tortillas that bought an electric tortilla maker. I added 1/2 tsp salt to the dough and lightly greased the pan with lard.

Okay so.. I think this is the very first time I've ever watched a video and then feel like I must go try this RIGHT NOW. And wow... No other Keto "french fry" even comes remotely close to this. This is by far the closest to an actual french fry that I've tasted. I also overcooked mine by accident so they are on the crunchy side and fairly dense but even this is way better than expected. Brilliant recipe! I’m so impressed by these. I saw your recipe being tested over on Wes’s channel, Highfalutin Low-carb, and started making them right away. I happen to have a container of konjac root powder in my cupboard, which I use as a thickener, so I went ahead and used that. They turned out perfectly. I did add a bit of salt and garlic powder to the dough, and I recommend this as an addition. Dipping them in sugar free ketchup. Will try sprinkling the next batch with my Pork King Good salt and vinegar seasoning. Thank you so much for this recipe. I have been keto for the last four years, and although I really enjoy eating meat, I am always very interested to find the few recipes where keto and vegan meet.
Thanks Fan! I tried making it and it turns out great. I add a little bit of salt and thyme in the dough and fried it, sprinkle with bbq flav seasoning.. tastes just like french fries 😍
Saw your video and made them immediately ... texture is definitely on point !!! Any sauce u put with them overpowers any coconut or almond flavors that exist ... is it like a trip to McDonald's... of course not because its keto... but these are by FAR the best keto fries I have ever tried and I have tried them ALL 🤣 ... SO GLAD I FOUND THIS VIDEO AS THESE ARE A GREAT SUBSTITUTE TO THE REAL THING and will be side dish at many cookouts I have from now on 🥰
Amazing! My head is buzzing with ideas of flavours i can add to these. Make them cheesy, herby, garlicky…endless ..i will definitely be making them soon. Thank you!
As soon as I watched this a ran to my kitchen and made them! I split the Almond flour recipe in 2 and made 1/2 with Xanthan and 1/2 with Konjac. The konjac was dryer and denser, more like a potato stick or plain cracker. The Xanthan puffed up and was lighter and looked like a fry! They both taste a little plain, but with salt & SF ketchup they were GOOD! I think some potato flavoring added would be smashing. Or other spices to change them up.. The churro idea posted by Linda, would be fantastic too. I may try that tomorrow.
Update**** I did these today using half quantities of everything because it was only for me. I replaced half the almond flour with Lupin flour and shallow fried half and baked the other half. Fantastic. The fried were crisper maybe and cooked up very quick but the baked were denser but crisp too. With added salt and relish. Perfection. Thank you. Bx

I tried this recipe...and it came out great! I realized that I need to cut my fries a bit thinner, as they seem to bloat while cooking (almost doubling in size). I used the same recipe to make some breadsticks. I used some chick broth instead of water. And I seasoned the dough with some dried herbs. I cut them about 2” wide by 1/4” thick. They were great with my keto spaghetti....and my keto chili.

My opinion is that frying is the way to go (for me 300-325F for 7-10 minutes was the sweet spot). Also, given that most of us will be consuming this with some sort of condiment or seasoning, I think almond flour is the way to go (less carbs). Anyhow, great work!

I have a question for both of you. How important is it that you use "coarsely" ground almond flour as opposed to finely ground
@@vinrando62 I used finely ground. I also sifted mine together with the xanthan gum to distribute it evenly.

Thanks so much for this comment!
@@icecreamladydriver1606 thank you
@@ninacrochet9648 You are welcome.
Fantastic idea!💡
I wanted to know if you could freeze them!! Perfect THANKYOU
Can you please teach me how frozen it?
I like the idea of freezing them and taking out the amount you want
This is a great idea! Now we can enjoy fries whenever we want!
Recommend!
Thank you for sharing this 'pizza' idea. Fried dough is always a winner!

Coconut flour 50 g = 3 TB plus 1 ts

It's so nice of you to put up these conversions. Thank you very much.
50g does not equal 50mls, unless you're measuring water or melted butter. That's only a fifth of a cup. For these flours, it's AT LEAST half a cup.
I could not wait to try these...so made them immediately!.I tried the coconut flour fries...they are AMAZING. I have an idea that these can also be made as a sweet treat..if they are coated in powdered erythritol and cinnamon after deep frying them..they turn out like churros! Which one did you try? Coconut or almond?
I actually used majority almond flour but used about 2 tablespoons of coconut flour together with it. I often mix them in order to get a closer-to-all-purpose flour texture. That worked out well. I used the leftovers to make a poutine this morning. LOVELY!

Your recipe is turning the keto world upside down. Just saw Pinche Nancy doing it in Spanish. She gave you a huge shout out.
Looks good, if you pop them in the freezer for a few minutes they will slice easier
I'm allergic to nightshades, so I haven't had a French fry in over 15 years. I can not even tell you how excited I am to try these! I am so grateful for this recipe. Thank you ❤
My brother surprised me with these and I didn't even know they weren't real potatoes, they are that good!
I am eating this everyday for my keto diet for the past few weeks. Not getting bored of it!

Sooo good.

If you bake these in the air fryer or oven they make the best bread sticks. Bake them then add garlic and olive oil and bake another couple mins. Fried yep they’re good as French fries. I used coconut flour because I’m allergic to almonds.
Good to hear that. I was wondering about airfrying

I tried the coconut fries today and it tasted awesome!
I absolutely ADORE your channel for soooooo many reasons. One big reason is that you are so concise, to the point. Thanks for being you. ❤
Made these.
Ditto, the tiny details helped a lot. So much better for our health to eat real food than factory food. Garlic mayo... Mmmmmmm

I made these today and the were amazing. I’m one month into keto and these gave me all the fries/chips satisfaction I needed.
