Proud af of this one so the fact y'all are digging it so much makes me so happy!

REAL GOOD VIDEO MY DUDE
My son is proud of me 😇
No Houston, they are plot hole problems that need to be solved, stop lying! /s
Man, one of the most emotional scenes for me last year was in Red Dead Redemption II. Obviously not dissing film, but video games have the opportunity to do a lot emotionally too, more even if you get a god writer. All considering what Ebert thought of video games.
Hey hey HEY! The lobster scene in Venom isn't on here. Unsubscrizzled!
Though honestly all of these scenes are fantastic and I really need to play God of War.
HHAHAHA I ACTUALLY HAD A JOKE ABOUT VENOM I TOOK OUT
Fantastic. I’m very glad someone recognizes the point of the snap in Infinity War. Sure, I don’t think the movie is a masterpiece or anything, but it’s a great entertainment, and I think people forget about the consequences for the characters. It’s like, the FIRST TIME that has happened in this franchise, at least to THIS degree. It really did take some balls to leave people off on a note like that. And so MANY people as well.
Also, THANK YOU for talking about that scene in You Were Never Really Here. There has never been a moment like that in cinema before and that genuinely might be one of my favorite scenes of all time. What A fucking masterpiece.
A Star is Born is one of my faves of the year, and I’m glad you still talked about the scene “everyone talks about” because you reminded us why we love it so much. It’s legitimately great.
Roma is the best film I saw last year and has a real shot at being one of the best films I’ve ever seen and that cinema scene man. That just fucking destroyed me. Talk about a movie that’s a real EXPERIENCE, everything about it is so immersive and masterful. I haven’t had such a profound response to a film since 2001: A Space Odyssey, which is my favorite movie.
And God of War is probably one of the best games ever made, and I’m glad you brought up that scene, because I don’t see it talked about as much as the excellent final reveals. It’s such a small, intimate moment with almost no dialogue between them. It’s all in the PERFECT music and phenomenal animation and performances through mocap.
Love your vids a lot, and this might be my favorite.
And wow, the end of the video was incredible... You really just hit it out of the park. And you turned my mind around on the Infinity War ending!
Totally agree with you on why the snap is still impactful even if we know they're coming back. It reminds me of the carbonate scene in Empire Strikes Back. I know Han will be fine, but Leia and Chewie don't, and that's what makes it a heartbreaking scene.
Exactly it's about seeing the characters going through the emotions and grief and how they grow and develop from it.
so glad to see God of War on the list, that game was such a phenomenal achievement in virtually every regard. the fact they took a character as one note as Kratos and actually made us feel empathy for him was nothing short of miraculous.
Great video. Empathy, compassion, loving kindness. Definitely what the world needs more of.
My favourite scene of 2018 is the "insist" scene from rdr2. Or the "I'm afraid" scene.
Fuck it, rdr2 is amazing that's what I'm trying to say here.
Chief just called in and he's yelling, "THIS IS IT!!" Seriously dude, well done. You were never really here was my #1 of 2018, the movie I found to be the most moving, immaculately directed, and just one hell of a rollercoaster in genre filmmaking. Thank you for explaining why the scene of Joe and the assassin on the floor was so poignant.
The snap will go down as one of if not the most iconic and impactful blockbuster endings in film history.
Bailey, this is phenomenal! Love the breakdown of the scene in You Were Never Really Here - HAUNTING! And I’m still haunted a year later by the awful scene at the end when Peter Parker begs for help from Stark as he turns to ash ... the first time a comic book movie moved me to the point of real tears.
Really great job! The graphics look like they probably took FOREVER to do (unless you’re a whiz with After Effects), so shoutout to your hard work!
This was really amazing. Please make more in the future.
I think the only perfect scene in that movie was the one that started after it said "Marvel" and ended with signatures.
Wow. I'm honestly speechless. Easily my favourite video on the channel - your editing skills are really quite special and I like how much ground you cover in such a short space.
I'm calling it now, 2019 is the year of loverboymedia. :)
Great video Bailey, great editing, great content, Im'super excited for La La Land video, you just made me love You Were Never Really Here even more
I based my whole day around this video and it totally fucking payed off. Another loverboy banger
Stoked that it delivered!
Holy shit, I shed a legit tear during the God of War section. I have no idea why, but that hit me so damn hard. Great video man, I've been binging you stuff recently and I'm so happy to subscribe!!!
Only just found your account, and only just started the video, but I’ve both subscribed and liked because the aesthetic and editing of the video is so professional and well done I can’t resist.
This is such a great video!! It actually made me want to rewatch all this 5 movies. Well... 4 movies and a game. ❤❤❤
A truly inspiring video, mate! Really nailed the core reason why I love the immersive experience of cinema!
Wow! I absolutely love the editing and the new caption-driven style of this video! Must’ve taken such a long time editing and creating this video. Thank you! 🙏🏼

OMG BAILEY IS TALKING ABOUT MY BEST ACTOR JOAQUIN PHOENIX I'M LOSING IT AND HE EDITS IT WITH THE BEAUTIFUL JONNY GREENWOOD SOUNDTRACK OMG (and BTW, my fav You were never really here scene is the lake scene, and the video was top notch perfect, thank you for it, Bailey)
As I was editing this video I was like "damn, wish I'd just done a whole video on that movie". Seriously such a special picture that had nothing but perfect scenes start to finish
@@LoverboyMedia Sometimes less is more (or it goes like this in English I guess). And if you really dig Joaquin Phoenix, then definitely consider doing a piece on Spike Jonze's 'Her'. Or just consider watching 'Synecdoche, New York' (it doesn't starr Phoenix, but it's the best Charlie Kaufman movie ever, and it's the best movie in the whole human history). But I know how it feels when a guy from your audience tries to impose material for your channel, so don't feel obligated because you're a kind man, I'm only a fanboy (and I mean idk what it feels, but I guess I can use my empathy enough to know what it feels).
I've been trying to write a comment to express how much I liked this video for 5 minutes but it never seemed to be enough so I'll keep it simple... This is AMAZING😁
You took scenes from an indie-blockbuster, a blockbuster for Oscar people, a Lynne Ramsay movie (blockbuster in itself), a video game blockbuster and the biggest movie blockbuster of 2018. Great selection!
P.s.: If there was something like natural selection on UA-cam, I think you would be selected.
This was such a great video. Well done. I saw all those movies and definitely agree with the points you made!
I wish I could subscribe a second time because oh man I freaking loved this.
Wow what a great send off for 2018! Love that you emphasized empathy. 2019 is the year of breaking banter and lover boy media

Great video!!
My favourite scene of 2018 would probably be the beach scene but these are some great picks
And they say Infinity War was the most ambitious crossover, this comment section easily wins.
What do you mean by previous games being "Mytho shit"???
What's his main channel? I like his content on this channel and I want to see more.

Di Mi Nombre by Rosalia was playing in the background and that was the moment I realized this video was for me.

‘You were never really here’ is criminally underrated.

Mission Impossible Fallout
i don't know why i'm still shocked over and over again about how good your videos are
Phenomenal video. You Were Never Really Here is one of my favourite movies of recent years, it wrecked me. I totally disagree with you on Infinity War though. It IS about the viewer. The goal of cinema is to move the audience, not the characters. It's easy to move the characters because you can write them to feel whatever you want, but for me to empathize with what the characters are supposed to feel, I have to buy it too. At the end of the day, we subconsciously recognize that we are watching a movie, so feeling like the snap was a cheap cop out prevails over empathizing with the characters. It feels manufactured.
It especially felt manufactured to me because I KNOW the film makers realize that the MCU films are generic/predictable/shallow etc. They are smart, and they know what they are doing. So you know that they are trying to break out of that by presenting a "bold" idea. But many people see through that and say "no, that wasn't bold, we know that they are coming back" ... I guess they just didn't earn that "bold" ending because the previous 18 films have been so cookie cutter, that the audience is now one step ahead of them.
Anyways, I love the video, especially how you had something important to say and tied it in as a message to go along with the video.
