The last of us part II is such a special game. There’s even something special about how much people hate it. It caused us to feel raw and genuine emotions to the extent that it went too far in some people’s eyes. Powerful shit.

That “just breathe” part really hit hard for me. I’ve been riddled with anxiety so much this past year and a half, a lot of it coming from pressure to accomplish things or reach goals in life. So seeing you talk about having a similar experience with that makes me feel less alone in that struggle with myself.

Its definitely not underrated, most awarded game of all time and sold incredibly well. It just gets alot of hate.
@@tlouphoric9916 The hate is always louder than the love. People that hate stuff talk about it for years on end, whereas people that love stuff usually move on after gushing about it.
@@kevinwendellcrumb1802 Thats true but I don't think thats the case for part 2. A lot of the hate came from people who didnt even play it and just did whats trending, and a bunch of the fans say theyre having a hard time moving on from it.

There is just so much to comment on... thank you Bailey. This video was absolutely great. It feels like we had a very similar journey with Hamilton and Midnight Gospel, and im so greatful to hear someone shower those things with love in a similar way I would. There are things I love more than Midnight Gospel but that show just changed how I thought about things, the impact of that show is just tremendous.

Completely agree on The Last of Us Part 2. I remember when I finished it for the first time and the credits were rolling an I just thought to myself "I think that's the greatest work of art I've ever experienced" and I couldn't stop thinking about it. Still can't. Flawless masterpiece and I never say that.

The GOAT is back! Idk what it is about this channel that I love so much, your personality, the editing, the writing, I keep coming back to it.
I feel the same way about 2020, I had lots of free time and somehow managed to watch less movies than past years. I also tried to listen to as many albums as I could even if they weren't the usual stuff I listen to.
I'm not sure if I have a 2020 top 5 but these are some of the stuff that I loved during that year:
• Better Call Saul Season 5
• Lost in Translation
• Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend podcast
• Future Nostalgia I agree so much, great album, I got into Taylor Swift as well, Evermore and Folklore are amazing.
• Red Dead Redemption 2, this game right here made my 2020 sooo much better, I couldn't believe the emotional rollercoaster that this game took me to. Great experience.

Great Video Bailey! Taylor Swift is a fantastic storyteller, glad you discovered her talent.
I don’t usually comment on videos like this but your video really stood out to me personally. As a struggling film student, I could relate a lot. I’m always self doubting myself and contemplating, whether it be working on something I have no confidence in or just getting out of my house every morning. It meant a lot to hear those words. Just breathe and take out the time for yourself and a little change isn’t always a bad thing. Never was a radio person either growing up but Taylor Swift does have some banger stuff ngl. Always love the videos your putting out man, keep on creating because your making some powerful stuff ❤️

Anyway, this video was amazing Bailey, congratulations on this great great comeback. You've made me appreciate more things I already liked and want to start loving things I have yet to watch/play/listen to.
Well worth the wait. Going to return to this video whenever I need the reminder. "I believe in you. You got this. Everything is gonna be OK."
Every now and then, I'll watch a vid essay that both inspires and hits me on a level that transcends entire feature films - and this was one of those times. Transformative stuff and well worth the titanic hype.
So many of these picks resonated too. I LOVED BoP, got obsessed with "exile" and a number of other TS songs, and finally got to see why my friends loved Hamilton so dang much. And while I'm still struggling to put my thoughts on Part II into something cohesive... hearing creators like you bring so much empathy to talking about it just. Rules.
I don't know what my personal Top 5 of 2020 is, honestly. But I think FF7 Remake encapsulates so much of the hope I felt in an otherwise tough year: music, story, themes and all.
