Ever since Sigil came out, shooting a Sigil eye in a custom map has turned into a gamble. It will either do what it did in Sigil or trigger an E4M1-esque trap. Take that chance at your own peril.

The fact that Romero consistently made Doom veterans sweat and question their skills in Sigil 1 & 2 makes me gitty and worried for what he will throw at us with Doom 2's enemies. The evil that this man will cook up with Revenants, Chaingunners, Hell Knights and Archviles is gonna be hell on earth.

9:40 Romero was a lead executive producer and game designer on Heretic and Hexen. He was heavily involved in them. Granted, he didn’t actually work on most levels but he liked them enough to help out and oversee them.
One thing I adore about Romero's maps is that he does not go by others rule than his own.
He focuses less on powerplay and more on survival.
He makes Ultra Violence the high bar rather than the default.

Sigil feels like what Episode 3 had been like if he designed all the Doom episodes.
"Belt sander against the face" is a good way of describing Black metal.
Sigil taught me that you have to shoot 16 to 17 shotgun slugs for defeating barron of the hell.

It's around that, yes. 16 shots, makes you do some internal math before engaging an encounter.
That was one of the great Sigil hallmarks, making you pick between shells and rockets for Barons and doing the maths.

While Sigil and Sigil 2 are neat as Doom 1 wads, I'm pretty excited to see what Romero does with the Doom 2 bestiary. Partly because Doom 2's expanded roster makes for more intricate encounters, and partly because too many cacodemons can overtomato the sauce.
Don't get me wrong, I like tomatoes in stuff, but even someone like ME can get tired of punching da angy tomato.

What's the name of the song used at the very start of the video? I tried looking for it through an ost playlist since I'm assuming it's from the sigil soundtrack but unless it's from like the middle or very end of one of the songs, I can't seem to find it. (Edit:I'm going to assume it's part of adrenaline in the blood considering the part you played of that song later on in the vid has a similar melody, just faster and more upbeat)

I actually learned the word sigil from Strife. I can't remember the original release but a kind of remaster is on Steam. In that you collect pieces of a weapon called the sigil so yeah that's where I got it.
I found the videos on the ancient gods and tnt evilution a bit boring wt times, but this video takes the cake in the set of doom videos. I'm glad you're back full swing trav
