Perfectly said. I just saw them in San Diego last weekend and Bruce told us how we are blood brothers and sisters despite coming from all different countries and areas, then they led into "Blood Brothers". One of the coolest moments of my life ever. Iron Maiden forever! 🤟

@David Terhune - true... so true. My god... so true :)
Just wait until she will hear about Bruce and his flying experience, with Ed Force One - Boening 747, and his experience being a captain of Boeing planes.
I cannot remember when he got his license, but I think he gained a proper commercial pilot's license after learning to fly in the 1990s (and he was always interested in flying). He also had quite a lot of commercial hours, under his belt - enough to be a pilot of 747 with a proper crew, and passengers. All in all... a person living his life, going all the way in every way. And this is hopefully how we all can approach the life as is - as long as we can :)
      Edit: usuall stuff: grammar/formatting

Iron Maiden is one of the few bands that you absolute MUST see live (and in person, not just a live recording). Every fan, of the sometimes 100,000+ in the crowd knows every word to every song and joins in. They have such a stage presence, you feel like you're a part of the show. It's hard to describe the energy that permeates everyone and every thing in the venue. It's incredible.

Absolutely is Bruce, this is over 15 years later so his hairs shorter, all the same members with the exception of Janiick Gers the third guitarist they added, still kicking ass, still a force to be reckoned with, showing the young bands today how it should be done!. Great job on the vid reaction Aileen, love seeing a new Maiden fan being born, i suggest Dance of Death or Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner, the bass in the latter is amazing, especially when the song slows, Up the Irons!!

This band has been around since the 80's and they still deliver. Bruce still hits all the notes and the rest of the band can play the hell out of their instruments. A lot of bands from when I was kid have stayed at the party a little bit too long, but these guys are hittin' it after all this time. Up the irons!

Highlight of songs I'd recommend are:
    From Iron Maiden------
Phantom of the Opera - A must for live version
Strange World (this one will be totally different Iron Maiden)
    From Killers ------
Murders in the Rue Morgue (Very loosely influenced by Edgar Allen Poe's short story, a story of a fugitive being sought for murder)
Genghis Khan (an instrumental - perfect for air drumming)
Innocent Exile (continues the theme of Murders in the Rue Morgue of an unjustly accused fugitive)
Killers (A journey into the twisted mind of a deranged killer)
Prodigal Son(about a repentant man reminiscent of the prodigal son parable found in Luke 15 of the bible)
Purgatory(lyrics of song read like a poem)
Drifter (focuses on the possibility of new beginnings)
From The Number of the Beast------
Invaders (It graphically depicts the violence and horror of a defense against a Viking invasion)
The Prisoner (based on the UK television series that ran briefly in the late 1960’s)
22 Acacia Avenue (The continuation of Charlotte the Harlot)
The Number of the Beast (Inspired by a dream Bassist Steve Harris had after watching the movie the Omen2)
Run to the Hills (about the European arrival in America told from the perspective of both the oppressed Cree and the invading Anglo-Saxon soldiers)
Hallowed be Thy Name (about a man who is about to be put to death and what he goes through) ***You have done
    From Piece of Mind------
Where Eagles Dare (based on an Alistair Maclean novel, (1967), and film (1968) about a WWII rescue of an American general from a Nazi stronghold in the Bavarian Alps
Revelations (Starts with the Hymnal from Oh God of Earth and Alter, the next two verses on the Hindu philosophy, the third verse in Yoga a snake called Kundalini that lives at the base of your spinal cord, during meditation a spiritual entity is created symbolizing the transcendental union with God)
Flight of Icarus (loosely based on the ancient Greek myth of Icarus)
The Trooper (based on the Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava 1854,which took place during the Crimean War)
To Tame a Land (the song relays the story of Paul Atreides, Paul Muad'Dib, from the book Dune by Frank Herbert)
    From Powerslave------
Aces High (about aircraft dog fighting between the British and German fighter pilots of WWII)
2 Minutes to Midnight - About the Doomsday clock for the End of the World
Back in The Village (The continuation of the song The Prisoner)
Powerslave (about an arrogant pharaoh in his dying hours, he can't understand why he's about to die and fights it in vain)
Rime of the Ancient Mariner - (From the poem of the same name by Samuel Taylor Coleridge (story about about an ocean voyage)
    From Somewhere in Time-------
Wasted Years (A song about the admonition to appreciate the present and not to take things for granted)
The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (based on a short story of Alan Sillitoe which was made into a 1962 film
Alexander the Great (About the story of Alexander the Great
From 7th Son of a 7th Son (a concept album)------
Infinite Dreams (Detailing someone who is tormented by paranormal dreams and nightmares)
The Evil That Men Do (Title taken from a quote in Shakespeare Julius Caesar but the song is unrelated)
The Clairvoyant (relates the reflections of the 7th Son of the 7th Son on his life and his powers)
    From Fear of the Dark------
Wasting Love (About the emptiness of relationships without love. Another Maiden ballad)
Fear of the Dark (About being afraid of the dark and the things in the dark that might be there - absolute a live performance for this one)
    From Brave New World------
The Wicker Man (about the apathy of our modern society and our egotistic disinterest of what is happening until something happens to us)
Ghost of the Navigator (The lyrics are a metaphor of life, with the ship sailing west towards the setting sun representing death)
Brave New World (Loosely based on the 1932 novel by Aldous Huxley)
Dream of Mirrors (Yet another song about reoccurring and maybe premonitory dreams)
Out of the Silent Planet (Supposedly inspired by the 1956 science -fiction film Forbidden Planet)
    From Dance of Death------
No More Lies (The lyrics deal with someone knows his time has come with the possibility of reincarnation)
Dance of Death (Orinally inspired by Ingmar Bergman's 1957 film The Seventh Seal - Another one to do as a live performance)
Paschendale (about the Battle of Passchendaele during WWI)
From A Matter of Life and Death------
Brighter than a Thousand Suns (About the dawn of the nuclear bomb age)
The Longest Day (about the WWII Normandy Invasion)
Out of the Shadows (Questioning the meaning of life)

The Rock in Rio performance of Revaltions. It highlights Bruce, and it is a love song of sorts. It is a feature if most of their tours. The 85 Rock in Rio concert features Bruce injuring himself in an interesting way, and he doesn't miss a beat.

My first fave song ever 🤘😎🤘 Piece of Mind was my first record ever. I got to buy it as a birthday present for myself when I turned 9 years old (1984, yep I'm still alive and kicking). It came out in May and my birthday is in June. Revelation became my favorite song right away and it was the first Maiden song that I learned on drums so it's close to my heart and will always be one of my fave. Then I love the drums on Where Eagles Dare on the same record especially the intro. Actually, the whole album is too good not to listen through the entire album 🤘😎🤘 Cheers from Sweden 🇸🇪

@@jonaslindberg5482 Great memories! Live After Death was my first album, and I got it shortly after it came out. Within a month I had bought both Powerslave and Piece of Mind. The Trooper was my first Maiden song that I heard. Half way through the song, I thought that my life will never be the same again. This music will always be a part of my life. Revaltions was my favorite song for about 25 years. Rime has been my favorite for the past 10. (The Trooper for the rest.) Maiden has contributed to a life well lived. Up The Irons!

      @jeffwolfgang6955 Рік тому

@@scope81 I agree that Bruce's voice is better on other live versions of Revalations. In the early versions Maiden played with a greater hunger that shows through, and the blood trickle on his face is a cool visual for a first time viewer. I think the version of Revalations to play for a first time viewer comes down to a gut feeling about the viewer's personality and preferences. For other reactors, I would pick the cleaner vocals. I thought she would appreciate the more emotional power packed version. Either way, the theater of the mind for her will show through. You really can't go wrong with either one.

Bruce had left the Band in the 90s and had become a commercial airline pilot. For that, he had to cut his hair. This show is from their reunion tour. So the hair is still short. That is why you did not recognize him. In later years, he flew the band and crew in their tour plane around the world. Song recommendations: There are just too many. Some of my personal favorites: "The Clansman" from the same show in 2001 is ridiculously awesome. Or "Dance of Death", which came out a few albums later. That's incredible, too.

Iron Maiden were here in Bulgaria 10 days ago ... and i had the pleasure to watch them live for second time 15 years after i watched them for the first time ... they are old now (Bruce 63 and younger of them all). Rock In Rio 2001 was more than 20 years ago and i think that this was like their best time .. It's not strange that this is one of their most iconic concerts. They still have the power, Bruce still have the stamina to run all over the stage all the time and keep his long tones. It was sad for me to realise, when i saw them again the other day, that this days are gone. I mean, the man is 63, still have the inner power and, damn, this man ages like wine, but .... well .... he is not running the same mileage as before and that specific loving long vibration high tones are becoming more and more short .... somehow cut and ... like spitted. Somehow more yelled than sung. Still, one of the best bands ever. Great musicians! I was caught by your reaction to the changes in this song specificly and i just want to put the things like that ... On this stage, there are Bruce and 5 other man, playing 3 guitars, a base and drums and all this man are achieving this kind of sync, so all of this changes are just flawless! Of course, the many years on stage are contributing, but it's not only that. Adrian Smith and Dave Murray are well known for playing so good together, that when doing the same riff, you must listen very carefully to understand that there are two guitars "singing" at this moment! Steve's bass lines ... Oh, ... i can write so much about that. Iconic bass lines, that are recognizeble all over the world of heavy metal. He has this technique - "The gallop", that is so iconic for him. I'm stopping right here. Have a nice evening and sorry for the long comment. I get a bit disctracted, when talking for favorite musicians.

Iron Maiden has been around (starting with the release of their first album) for 42 years. When you start diving into Maiden you are going to see major time jumps. Bruce will be young with long hair in one video, short hair in next, then grey hair in another. There is also one major vocal point in Bruce's career: Pre-Throat Cancer and Post-Throat Cancer around 2014-2015. But the Iron Maiden energy remains the same.

This is such an amazing piece. It's one of the first songs I heard from them when my parents introduced me to them in my mid to late teens. This live version specifically is one of the few metal pieces that makes me shed a few tears when the crowd sings along to the guitar parts at the start and end, it's just so beautiful hearing that. Back in 2007/2008, I was in a bad place mentally and I got commited to the local mental hospital because of severe social anxiety and depression. The initial 3 weeks became 15 weeks, but when I was well enough to leave, one of the first things I did was to attend the Iron Maiden concert at Valle Hovin, Norway, july 2008.
From not being able to interact with even family to singing and headbanging with 45.000 other people, was a great victory for me. Iron Maiden means everything and they are timeless. One of my best concert experiences. 🫀👍

Glad to have you as a new Maiden family member!! 😂
Also glad to finally hear someone talking about Steve Harris's bass line/sound lol. As a bassist, we tend to get overlooked haha.
One song I don't see mentioned a lot for reactions is The Talisman on the En Vivo live dvd.
    Keep rocking 🤟

Nice reaction since you appreciate specific details. From vocals, instruments to performance. Though I've noticed that this is more common among metal/rock fans (and musicians of course). Seeing this also reminded me of something. I recognize the guy at 8:21, singing along with his arms in the air. He flew in from Europe for this concert and played (don't know if he's active now) in a heavy metal band. Me and my band (black metal) did several gigs together with his many years ago.

That was in 1999 in Reo and they sold almost 300,000 tickets to the Soccer stadium where it was held...But some say it was larger than the original Woodstock concert.. I saw Iron Maiden many times in the mid to late 80's..I have photos and autographs from all but Adrian Smith....

Been lucky enough to see these gentlemen live and can only describe the event as pure demonstration showmanship and a masterclass of how to put on a show. The band give so much to the crowd and they don't stop or slow down while they are on stage. They just did a headline set at Download Festival in the UK this weekend just gone and stole the show.

Maiden was my 1st concert at 13yrs, that was in 84. Still follow them all these years later. Steve is a God on bass. Bruce is still going strong even after his battle with cancer and never knew if he'd sing again. They just keep getting better and better.
