i WAS THERE!! 13KM AWAY FROM MY HOUSE IN RIO. I WAS 16 (now 34). THAT WAS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE! 19 JANUARY 2001 ROCK IN RIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This live version always gives me goosebumps whenever it's the part when Bruce goes "Yeah!!!!!" I can't count the amount of times I've listened to this...🤘🤘🤘
One of the best concert vids- pure energy and perfection! Everytime! They don't call singer Bruce Dickinson the Air Raid Siren for nothing! Great reaction, rock on! Much love and respect!!
Bruce is a commercial airline pilot. A few years back the band did a huge tour around the world including to places where they rarely if ever get live bands. Bruce flew a commercial jet from venue to venue with the crew, equipment and obviously the rest of the band. They would land, unload the plane set up and play. They did a documentary on it called FLIGHT 666 and is well worth watching as it has some great insight of the band.
The second biggest crowd they've ever played to: 250,000 people. I've seen Maiden twice and they were the best shows I've ever been to. I waited outside for about 5 hours just to get to the front and I did just that. If you ever get the chance to see Maiden live, do it! You'll meet people from all over the world. I met people from South America and Europe the last time I saw them in San Antonio. The experience of being at an Iron Maiden show is unreal!
@@deathmetaldungeon429 : Heavy metal primarily is British, so (although the title gets bandied around a lot) there isn't really such a thing as "new wave of british heavy metal". NWOBHM would imply either/or: #1 = There was an old wave of British heavy metal (which there wasn't) or #2 = That there was a wave of non-British heavy metal (which there also wasn't). I didn't say they were "the first", I said "pretty much helped invent heavy metal" (which is different). Apart from Sabbath, there wasn't anyone else in metal apart from Maiden and Priest. So yes, pretty much helped invent it. Thank you. [el'sda2].
That was the song I introduced Iron Maiden to my 5 year-old son... and everytime he listens to it he sings along to the guitars...Then I took him to see them live last month in Porto Alegre (Brazil)... by the time we got to the Arena, he was unbelievably struck, so amazed by the crowd and I was so proud of seeing him enjoying it all! He waited so eagerly for this song to be played but ended up sleeping in my husband’s arms two songs before they performed it... once we got home he sadly said “They didn’t play the song, mon!” that was lovely anyways 😍😍😍 Luckly we video recorded him sleeping while they were playing it and he was able to watch it the next day... He loved it!!! You're my favorite youtuber when it comes to reacting to metal bands!😂😂😂 It's really nice to watch you reacting to those bands I listen to since I was a teenager... specially Iron Maiden and Metallica best bands ever!!!
@Peace Sells, But Who's Buying? After the black album is everything so mainstream and shit. Pls never listened to metal again. I dont now if your mean it sarcastic, if you do im sorry
Iron maiden was my first and only concert (so far) during the book of souls tour and it was unbelievable. Fear of the dark had the same reaction with everyone chanting and jumping it was great. Another great part of the show is Bruce simply shouting scream for me. Another great video, Keep it up
I've been in... at least 6 Iron Maiden's concerts, here in my country Argentina. They aren't (too) expensive, and I always know it gonna blow my mind.. It's THE BEST band you could see live!! The energy, the people, the ambient... EVERYTHING it's AWESOME! You should go and see it by yourself! It worth every cent.
If you ever have 2 hours free react to the whole of Rock In Rio. SO GOOD! Edit - Fun fact, the reason for the football like chanting is because Steve Harris (bassist) had the choice when he was younger of either playing for West Ham United professionally or Iron Maiden. Steve bleeds football almost as much as Maiden and so when he writes melodies they are typically done as football chants :) (also more fun facts Steve is wearing an Iron Maiden FC kit for this show and both the kit and his bass use the West Ham colours)
Fun Fact: This song was based on Steve Harris' (Maiden's big tough bass player/founder/driving force ... without him there would be no Iron Maiden) actual fear of the dark.
It was January 19th 2001, I remember because, January 15th was the concert in Chile and THAT was the concert tha I didn't attend. After that I swear never missed one again
@Octavio Taleno, I double checked the original video link in the description, {as I should've done first} & this particular concert was in Rio in 2001. I stand corrected & a bit shamed...Peace.
I'm 30yo and I'm from Italy. I was at their concerts in 2003 (Firenze-IT), 2010 (Udine-IT), and now that I live in Germany, in 2017 (Oberhausen-GER). Every time is like the first one... You can't even try to stop to sing, jump, cry. They're first of all amazing persons, and then amazing artists too. And the "trybal" atmosphere that they're able to create during their live shows is simply amazing. Never seen anything like that... And when you're there it feels like all being part of the same big heart pumping blood in the veins and giving life to a fantastic show. Best band ever... Up the Irons!!!
My very first video I watched of you was you reacting to Ghost Love Score -Nightwish. Then I clicked on this one and you're wearing a Nightwish shirt. Love it!!!!
You will never and I mean never experience something like this at a hip hop concert. Bruce is the greatest showman ever, he hold the audience under his power for the two hours of the show. The band is amazing, great talent. The audience is part of the show.. Seeing Maiden live is incredible, seen them 6 times and I never get tired of it. Saw them just a few weeks ago.
No leaf clover by Metallica is a song they played only in a concert they did with the San Francisco Symphony on 2000 something. They recently played it again live but you should totally check out the first time they played, at the S&M concert (symphony and metallica)
no more fucking metallica, why must we put him through a gauntlet of 80's metal when we have modern bands like Periphery, Animals as Leaders and Born of Osiris?
Hey bro can you tell us about your tattoos if it isn't personal they look interesting been watching for around 3 months favorite channel right now keep up the good work
if you want more iron maiden's great songs , you have to try "the clansman" (from the same live - rock in rio) trust me you won't be disappointed !! (from a french guy)
If you haven't seen Iron Maiden live, do yourself a favor and go the next time they're near you. I've seen a lot of legendary metal bands live and Maiden is still the best live show I've seen. They really put on one hell of a performance and the crowd interaction is insane. Also, Bruce's energy on stage is crazy. I was only a casual fan before I saw them and after seeing them twice they've easily become one of my favorite bands.
100 % agree. My sister and I finally got to see them in 2017 for their Book Of Souls tour. Really wish I could have seen their Legacy of the Beast show when it came to my state but circumstances didn't allow me to.
I saw them come to Sydney for the 666 tour only doing 80s and 90s music. Was absolutely legendary. I was in the stands and felt that we were gonna fall due to everyone head banging
Alright, here's my story. I've seen Maiden twice, and my first time was my first real concert ever. Maiden was playing with Heaven & Hell (Sabbath with Dio). Less than a month before the show, Ronnie went into the hospital and they cancelled the rest of the shows. Saw Dream Theatre instead. That was great, but... it was no Dio. However, if you go to a Maiden show, get there early and fight to the front if you have to. It's worth it. I was at the very front of the crowd when the show started. They have this song called "The Wicker Man" that you should react to. They opened with that, the first lines being "Hand of fate is moving and the finger points to you." Well, Bruce comes running out on stage and leaps over the speakers like he does, and when he sang that line, he dead ass looked right in my eyes and pointed at me. I came and I don't remember much of the show after that.
You can't go wrong with Maiden. Every album up to and including Seventh Son was awesome. The Powerslave and Piece of Mind albums are the best in my opinion.
Went to an iron maiden concert when i was 15, shit was crazy. i was so happy to finally see then live after 6 years of listening to their music. It's something each individual in society should have on their to do list before they die, to go and experience Iron Maiden Live!
Paschendale (Studio version w/ lyricks). i'd love to see your reaction man. can't seem to get any respectable reactors to do this one... Anybody with me?
As far as I'm concerned, if you wanna react to nothing but Iron Maiden for the rest of the year, that's fine with me. I get tired of seeing a few of the other same bands all the time, but never Maiden. Since you asked about seeing them live, I have seen Maiden live 3 times. And here's the best part - each time was completely different and still absolutely amazing! The first time was when they played on Ozzfest in 2005, and they were only playing material from their first 4 albums. It was great, and I got to hear some songs I don't think they do live often (especially since two of those albums were before Bruce joined the band). The second time was in 2010 and they only did material from their most recent (at the time) four albums, meaning the stuff since Bruce rejoined the band. Also awesome, especially since the setlist leaned heavily on the amazing Brave New World and Dance of Death albums. The third time was in 2012 and I think they mostly did stuff from around Seventh Son of a Seventh Son and Fear of the Dark. Iron Maiden might possibly be the best live band in the world. They sound great, they change up their set lists every tour, and they have the energy of a band 30 years younger than them (seriously, I don't think I've EVER seen anyone else run around as much on stage as Bruce Dickinson does). If you have the opportunity to see Iron Maiden live and you do not take it, you are doing yourself a major disservice.
I've only seen them once so far at this year's legacy of the beast tour in Munich, Germany and it was the most exciting experience of probably my entire life. The amazing set list and the sheer energy they put up on stage left me speechless after the show. Having been a huge Maiden fan for many years, experiencing this performance aswell as being part of the, it feels like, always amazing crowd, especially chanting to this song was a dream come true and I am so looking forward to seeing them at least one more time, whenever that may be.
Saw Maiden in 2011 during their Final Frontier tour. It was unlike anything I have ever been to. Very intense show and a lot of fun too. 8 foot tall space Eddie playing guitar was a great highlight of the night!
This Iron Maiden Rock in Rio show is one of the best metal shows ever. Bruce Dickinson went nuts the entire show, running like mad, spuring the crowd on, singing his lungs out, it was amazing.
If you thought that them singing along to the guitar solo was weird you should check out Symphony of Destruction by Megadeth where people in Argentina sing along to the instrumental break in between the lines of the verses
the flight 666 in Argentina fotd video was definitely better even with lot less ppl imo, and crowd chanting instrumental parts born in Argentina so... that statement that Brazil has the best crowd in the world is debatable at least. Great crowd yes, but THE best? that idk...
This video is great man, I was really enjoying your reaction ! I felt the exact same way when I first heard this track from Rio in 2001 when I was about 11 years old, that passion they deliver throughout the audience, I can honestly tell it's really special. I've never seen such loyal and passionate fans, and Maiden give everything for their fans. I've seen them 20 odd times over the years around Europe and each time they get better and better and this band unites all fans together no matter what religion, color, gender, no matter if rich or poor. They really care about their fans. Hopefully live shows will return and bring joy to all the people around the world again ! Keep it up @Alex Hefner, I'll subscribe to your channel 🤘🎸
Iron Maiden live is one of life’s best experiences. I remember last time I saw them on the Book of Souls tour I got to the show 4 hours early to be first in line (held in the worse piss of my life for it), had my face painted up like Tribal Mayan Eddie from the Book of Souls cover, and got second row front and center to the stage, right behind the VIP’s that got in early. Show was electric as always, crowd singing and screaming so loud sometimes overpowered the entire band, and at the end Nicko threw his drumstick right at me and I caught it mid-air. It was like a f***ing movie moment bro I swear. People were losing their minds next to me like “YOU ARE SO LUCKY HOLY SH*T” haha overall just best lyrics, energy, riffs, and memories. Guys love them, girls love them, nothing but hype for everyone around. Great reaction video \m/
Metal is my religion, Iron Maiden is my God! The first time I went to a Maiden concert I almost lost my voice. Now, after 9 shows it is still like the first time!
If you can React to Katatonia That would be great. It’s one of the most hear bands out there in my opinion. My favorite songs are : The Racing Heart ( Dead End Kings ) Undo You ( Dead End Kings ) Gone ( Sanctitude ) Unfurl ( the Great Cold Distance )
At an Iron Maiden show in Vegas 5 years ago (Megadeth opening band), great show from both bands. Bruce stopped in mid song (band still played) to have security throw a guy out because a lady was at the front of the general admission audience and this bigger guy pushed her out of the way so he could be in front. He was doing it all on microphone, it was great. Band kept playing, and Bruce went right back into the song.
Go see them live!!! I've seen them at least 4 times, perhaps 5 . The gig is always amazing. Pick up Bruce's book, "What does this button do?", very insightful.
Might be too jumpy if he's not really well versed in Maiden lore. There's a great documentary on here with "Harry" talking about how hard it was to just get going.
I've been to an Iron Maiden concert in Montreal Qc Canada my home town, and I see how amazed you were witnessing the crowd they draw with the energy along with it. Being there is a whole different story...it is absolutely electric!!! The most awesome concert I've been to and can't wait til they come back. They've actually played here many times after releasing their albums. Phenomenal group!!! 👍👍👍
I wish i could have seen them live! I was meant to in May, they were coming to Australia but because of this whole Coronavirus thing they had to cancel. Reactions are now my emotional outlet. I was also meant to see Metallica and Slipknot last year but they cancelled. sad.

i WAS THERE!! 13KM AWAY FROM MY HOUSE IN RIO. I WAS 16 (now 34). THAT WAS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE! 19 JANUARY 2001 ROCK IN RIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like me in the late 80's. I was a hip-hop head, til I heard Ratt and motley crue on the radio!💙
No shame or worries, there was a time I used to listen to other genres of music. Suddenly Metal came into my life. It was my destiny 😄
I was in this concert, Rock in Rio 2001. Amazing. Greetings from Brazil, Alex

You lucky bastard
I en envy you brother. Maiden - Rock In Rio is one of the best live performances by any band ever!!
Their recent tours with Bruce fully embracing his Old Man voice show just how great he is :)
Why the hell no one said Polyphia? They're a rock band with hip-hop/trap elements
@@lightyagami8377 you just did!
The sad thing is my dad singing this to me was the only way to get me to sleep as a child, and I still listen to it on repeat if I can't sleep
Blind Guardian - Valhalla or Bards Song WACKEN. BRING IT \m/

ITS ABOUT TIME
Fuck yeah, that one is pure badass
A wise man once told me:
"Everyone is a metalhead kid, they just haven't realized it yet"
Is heavy metal a tribute to Iron Maiden?
I think it's the other way around. Iron Maiden is a tribute to metal.
well Iron maiden pretty much helped invent metal... [el'sda2].
lemsdarkapprentice 2 Metal was around long before Maiden, they were pioneers of the NWOBHM movement 👍🏻
Thank you. [el'sda2].
lol thanks peeps, it was rhetorical, in jest.
Merry Christmas. \m/
That's Rock in Rio 2001 in Brazil, I was there at the crowd. Got goosebumps rewatching it.
I just got goosebumps too
That was the song I introduced Iron Maiden to my 5 year-old son... and everytime he listens to it he sings along to the guitars...Then I took him to see them live last month in Porto Alegre (Brazil)... by the time we got to the Arena, he was unbelievably struck, so amazed by the crowd and I was so proud of seeing him enjoying it all! He waited so eagerly for this song to be played but ended up sleeping in my husband’s arms two songs before they performed it... once we got home he sadly said “They didn’t play the song, mon!” that was lovely anyways 😍😍😍
Luckly we video recorded him sleeping while they were playing it and he was able to watch it the next day... He loved it!!!
You're my favorite youtuber when it comes to reacting to metal bands!😂😂😂 It's really nice to watch you reacting to those bands I listen to since I was a teenager... specially Iron Maiden and Metallica best bands ever!!!
Awesome!!!
Another great video, Keep it up
Ive went to Marilyn Manson w/ Rob Zombie!
Damn literaly was bored then I saw this. Up the Irons 🤘
I have seen Iron Maiden 17 times and i always have goosebumps when "doctor, Doctor" starts. Clansman Live is my request

Steve bleeds football almost as much as Maiden and so when he writes melodies they are typically done as football chants :) (also more fun facts Steve is wearing an Iron Maiden FC kit for this show and both the kit and his bass use the West Ham colours)
is this Chris Wilson From Grinding Gear Games?
Nope, Very common name though :)

Amber Smith the Pop Sound 😂
You will never and I mean never experience something like this at a hip hop concert. Bruce is the greatest showman ever, he hold the audience under his power for the two hours of the show. The band is amazing, great talent. The audience is part of the show.. Seeing Maiden live is incredible, seen them 6 times and I never get tired of it. Saw them just a few weeks ago.

That's a great call. I'll second it. The Clansman.
Should have seen them in june but you know corona
Hopefully I can pull some strings and see Legacy of the Beast next year. I REALLY hope I have enough money for it. Up the Irons! 🤟🏻
Dude, you should just watch Rock In Rio 2001 in it's entirety. You wouldn't be disappointed.
I: singing "fear of the daark..."
He: Cuts the song
WTF NOOO
You can't go wrong with Maiden. Every album up to and including Seventh Son was awesome. The Powerslave and Piece of Mind albums are the best in my opinion.
When 7th Son came out, I hated it. Now, it's one of my favorite Maiden albums.
The beat Iron Maiden concerts are from Rock in Rio, PERIOD.
I prefer the Flight 666 DVD personally, it has better performances, video and sound quality, and the crowds are louder.
Download deserves a shout out too XD badass show
I just love how much fun it looks these guys are always having on stage! Absolutely the best band I’ve seen live.

He already did in another Maiden reaction 😉
Watching Iron Maiden in live it's such an AMAZING LIFE MEMORY!!
IT'S DOPE
Nah
I was there!! Rio de Janeiro, 2001!! Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please do Powerslave full album!!!
Fear of The Dark is EASILY my favorite song live just because of the crowd participation 🙌🏼
This is the BRAZILIAN crowd !!! Best in the world in the shows and soccer matches too 💚🎵
the flight 666 in Argentina fotd video was definitely better even with lot less ppl imo, and crowd chanting instrumental parts born in Argentina so... that statement that Brazil has the best crowd in the world is debatable at least. Great crowd yes, but THE best? that idk...
UP THE IRONS!
For sure
