The moment you realise they are still performing like this into their 60s
Saw them last year in Nashville and it was incredible.
And still kicking major ass!
@@chadmcdaniel9023 saw them last year in Minneapolis and my god... best show I’ve ever seen without a doubt. Legacy of the Beast tour was awesome
I was a teenager when i 1st saw them open up for FKN Judas Priest and here I am @ 52 lol.I guess Ive been lucky.
They weren't exactly spring chickens here, 21 years ago, to be fair.
Rock in Rio. 250,000+ people. Only legends can pull that off.
Bruce is a legend. Singer, pilot and Olympic standard sword fencer.
with a university degree in history
And a best selling author 😎
And also beat throat cancer!
🇧🇷🇧🇷 Up the Brazilians Irons! Brazilian crowd is dope!
Brasil!!! 💚🇧🇷
I was at this Rock in Rio show in 2001, I was 17 at the time and I remember very well that simply animal, I was one of the 250,000 people, good times I miss you so much, a hug from Brazil!🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
The entire show is so theatrical and high energy even today Bruce is so impressive at his age ...
They didn't just set the bar...THEY ARE THE BAR 🔥🎸🔥
They really are. Just about every metal band I listen to has said at one point or another that Iron Maiden was a big influence on them.
The best live band of the world. More Maiden please
if you want more maiden, you have to pay them to react to the songs that you like. go to their website for prices
@@kennethv5250 i coudn't do this. Pay them?? 😆wtf
@@dolphin8077 yeah if you go to their website youll find a link to reactions. they do reactions to songs but theyre all paid for, every reaction youve been seeing is paid for. $25 is the cheapest right now. they do this because theyre not able to do concerts right now, this is how they earn money to pay the bills. they dont do comment requests. sorry.
@@kennethv5250 ok but i 'm looking for reactors about my fav bands jyst to enjoying their reacts and no more. Anyway Thanks for that new 😉
@@dolphin8077 ive been looking for the same for over a year yet these guys are the only ones to take my requests. you can search YT for reactors doing your specific songs but some suck and some are ok, most are pretty fake. if you want to see one of my requests check out the 2cellos-the trooper overture
Iron Maiden: old men with a 7 years old child's energy... And they transmite that energy to people, that's why I love this band...
The diet plan includes tennis. Soccer. And no drugs.
The rule was and has always been: "Do what you want as long as you can give 100% on stage". They, Steve and Nicko in particular, were heavy drinkers back in the days, but not a single time they were so drunk that they couldn't play. Adrian, it has been said, smoked a lot of marijuana during their Beast on the Road tour.
@@TheEternalWayfarer Bruce probably smoked since pot too bad on his Live After Death discourse about how Queen Victoria used marijuana to cure her cramps (ps: on the video of the Long Beach Arena show, not on the album)
Maiden has always been one very professional band.
They always enjoyed but never let it get on the way if their job, while many other bands of the time were in the business for the drugs and sex.
The professionalism of the band was one of the reasons Bruce decided to leave Samson and join Maiden
N beers
Don't forget golf for Nicko and fencing for Bruce 🙂
Running around on stage for 2 hours and 30 minutes under super bright lights is a great workout.
I was on this show! One of the most epic moments of my life was singing this song with more than 200.000 people! UP THE IRONS 🤘🏻
Iron Maidens exercise routine is playing soccer. bruce also fences and has for years.
Nicto, the drummer, is an avid golfer
You forgot about all the pints they down to 😂😂🤘🏻🤘🏻
@@gustaferiksson3044 and yeah all the beer they drink
THE greatest Metal band there has ever been or ever will be!!!!!!!
UP THE IRONS!
You forgot to say heavy but your right 100% the best heavy metal band in the world 🤘
Can you imagine that back in the days...early 80ties they all were young and more energetic ... seen some brutal shows from the lads...Up the Irons!!!
I saw every tour from Killers through Powerslave in England then moved to America and kept going. Cheers.
Yep. This was 2001.
So I've seen Maiden about 18 times since 1981, and not for ONE minute in any of these shows did I feel they weren't giving 110%. That includes the Powerslave show in January 1985 in Hartford, CT that was wedged right in between their 1st ever show in South America (Rock In Rio, warmed up for headliner Queen) and 7 sold-out shows at Radio City Music Hall. Completely understandable reason to take the foot off the gas for one night, yet I saw everything but that night. They completely killed it with an energy level I couldn't believe. Amazing testament to the attitude they've maintained since day one. Amazing testament to Steve Harris who has insisted on it.
Standing in a crowd at a maiden concert during the intro to this song is magical.
do sign of the cross from the same concert please.
The performance of Sign of The Cross from the Legacy of The Beast live album is fairly incredible as well.
if you want more maiden, you have to pay them to react to the songs that you like. go to their website for prices
You guys def need react to *Empire of The Clouds* song, I don't think they do this one live anywhere but is a trully masterpiece
Yes! A beautiful, absolutely epic song.
They never did. Bruce already said it’s too difficult to play it live in a proper way, bringing an orchestra to the stage to play with the band during an entire tour
@@Loxas1973 oh yea I heard something like that, I wish they would did that in a special concert, but I think will never happen 😅
@@Shurororu Me too!! Maybe a "hybrid" concert with some acoustic tunes in the set list (EOTC, Journeyman and versions of some other songs). It would be spectacular
You won't believe this one. I saw Maiden in concert in Jackson MS in 1983. They opened for 38 Special. Oh yeah.
the camera track Bruce Dickinson was on is called a camera dolly I believe
😂 I love the way Janicks guitar antics always makes you laugh 🤘🤘 Try and check out The red & the black live its 13 mins of pure musical joy.
4 decades in phenomenal musicianship and songwriter abilities....staying true to their style....and you get to be Gods....few get there....these guys did.
Brazil has the best heavy metal crowd ever. Period.
Have seen them many times, and was the last concert I went to before the lock down. They are all in their 60s now, the drummer is close to 70... and they still bring all that energy.
they have been doing this from the early 1975 and still going 2020
I've seen them five times. they never fail to amaze. and if you get to see them once... you're lucky. Up the Irons !!!
They are full of energy and the fact that they are all in their 60's makes it even more impressive!
I've seen The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Kiss, Alice Cooper and a bunch of other great bands, but Iron Maiden is THE best concert I've ever seen! It was 2008's "Somewhere Back in Time" tour. On that day it was the drummer Nicko Mcbrain's 56th birthday and the whole crowd sung Happy Birthday to him, it was awesome.
The passion for their work is the best diet for them for what they say ! Anyway brilliant comment . For sure the Bassist is a good soccer player and an healthy person as well as the singer
The tightness and speed Nicko plays that single drum pedal is ungodly. Love that bloke.
Great reaction, I love Iron Maiden !!!
They just don’t do drugs and they actually love to have fun on stage ,we are a big family (including fans )
I was on this show. 1/19/2001. I've been to 8 Iron shows, but this one was the best. It was Bruce's return. Last day of the festival. Magic!
Stephen Percy (born 12 March 1956) is an musician who is the bassist, keyboardist, backing vocalist, primary songwriter and founder/leader of heavy metal band Iron Maiden
“It’s Magical “ indeed it is
Thanks for bringing up the drummer cause no one ever brings him up cause his drumming is fantastic 😎
The McBrain damage. \m/-
The greatest live band of all time guys bar none I've seen them 15 times 🤘🤘🤘
My first ever patch on a Jacket and Metal Shirt was a Iron Maiden one. 35 Years ago.
Live rock in Rio ❤❤🇧🇷🇧🇷
The best show ❤❤❤👌
Iron Maiden! 1981 Jr high man! It was great, and even to this day, they are awesome.
Best concert i ever went to when they played in Sydney a few years back.
Bruce always said in interviews if something reachable from stage it's a part of the stage and free to use 😂
I was um 2001 and nevermore go forget the biggest rock show
Nicko is who got me into huge drum kits, bc of him he brought me to a whole new world of drumming, his single pedal skills are out of this world! UP THE IRON!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🙌🏻
And the reason why Nicko is such an impeccable drummer is he was tutored by James Marshall, the James Marshall who started Marshall Amplification
THE INTERNET NEEDS MORE IRON MAIDEN REACTIONS!
They are already confirmed for RiR 2021 - if there is no longer the "onga" - and I really want to be able to be there! Not to mention that here in Brazil, Bruce always does that on cameras. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Greetings from Brazil 💪🏻😎
Jesus seeing this in perspective, I can say this was bruce's prime, the deliver is so versatile, calmed and controled!! Those present there whitnessed def a wonder and we're lucky this was captured fr
This is exactly why I thank GOD i was raised in the 80’s
You know you have a hit song when the fans sing along with the guitars. ✌🤘
Sign Of The Cross; Run To The Hills; Iron Maiden (the song!) Wicker Man from this awesome show!!!!! Cheers from France!
Iron Maiden is an experience. Glad to have seen them live in Bengaluru. Love the reaction, guys. Cheers. :) :)
Suzie and Travis are becoming big Maiden fans IMO. Cool beyond words. Enjoy metalheads and those still learning.
Hallowed Be Thy Name from this show is amazing, too. My favorite version of that song. This entire show was incredible (not that they ever have an off night).
Once you've seen Maiden live, you can start judging other bands. They are the bar.
Bruce Dickinson was an Olympic caliber fencer. The others are into golf & tennis, stuff like that. The drummer owns a restaurant in Florida btw.
It's super high energy and these lads are in their 60s
Saw these guys in 2000 with Queensryche and Rob Halford and .......oh my how it changed me. So sick!
One of favorites. I think this concert was close to 100,000 fans. Imagine all those people singing your songs back to you. Awesome, just incredible!!!🤘🤘🤘
More like 250.000 fans actually ;-)
My mistake. I knew it was an outrageous number.
Yes, 250,000 plus people there. I was one of them. It was INSANE!! Only time I've seen them out of the U.S. Glad I was there but doubt I'll ever do another Rock in Rio. It was just WAY INSANE! Rob Halford played the same night Iron Maiden did when he had his band "Halford". He was quite awesome as well. UP THE IRONS!! 🤘🤘
250000 thousand...and still.not the biggest crowd they've played to!
Best band on this or any other planet!! I've loved them since I was 14 and heard the Killers album in '81.
So often, when I've felt down, all I've needed to do is crank some Maiden for a bit and presto!!, feeling better!
I'm 54 now, and listening to their latest live album (Nights of The Dead, Legacy of The Beast: Live in Mexico City) the other day, I felt so overwhelmed that my eyes began to water, and the dopamine was so strong that I had to yank off my headphones halfway through Sign of The Cross. :)
I'll love this band until I take my final breath, and longer hopefully.
UP THE IRONS!!!!
And you know what the most beautiful thing is...yall didnt even scratch the surface of what this band actually has to offer! God I wish I could experience it all over again for the first time! But then again,..I've seen them live now already 6 times...and they are my fondest experiences
It's now 2022 and this year Iron Maiden will be headlining the Download festival in the United Kingdom, Also in 2022 the drummer Nico McBrain will be celebrating his 70th birthday, let that thought just sink in for a minute ! :-)
Dream of Mirrors from the same concert...shows Bruce's vocal chops. And the only time that gem has ever been played live I think 🤔
Ive been listening to Maiden loads recently
In the pantheon of rock Gods simple fact!
Phenomenal group! One of the greatest of all time! Awesome!
Are they that awesome? Why yes.... Yes they are!!!!
Love Iron Maiden!!
Fun fact, Iron Maiden members were like in their late 50's late 60' when this was filmed. Yes they are this cool live. If you ever get the chance, you two should definitely see them live. It's an awesome show.
They were in their early 40s
I knew you guys would love this. Great job. Watch the history of iron maiden on you tube then you will know what it took to become the band they are now. Takes you back to the mid 70,s when they started.
Iron Maiden is the greatest. Up the Irons!
iron maiden are one best live acts ive seen live along with 30 secounds to mars
What I love most about Maiden (apart from the music) is how even after all these years, you can see how much they love what they do on stage. It's just wonderful to see that!
My daughter and I saw them live, in August of 2019, awesome show, up the irons.
You guys should watch the ENTIRE CD/VHS of their Somewhere Back in Time Tour (around 2008ish), it's called Flight 666. Not only is it a concert video, but it goes into great detail interviewing not only band members but the crew that actually puts all this together for them..
I swear you won't be disappointed. Definitely gives a more inside/personal knowledge of the band.....
They are in my humble little opinion the best band to have ever existed. I feel fortunate to have lived the same time. And I’ve seen them many times starting with Piece of mind. Great review
this song is placed in a particular period, the maidens look to the 90s and release a record like "Fear Of The Dark", perhaps not their best work, but this song probably represents one of the high points of their career, at I was 14 years old and I remember that everyone, absolutely everyone loved this song, even those who listened to different genres from classic metal .... every time it was performed live there was always a particular atmosphere, almost surreal and full of emotions .... still it is always played in their concerts and the choirs that are created are always magical ....
Hail from Italy 🤟🏻
PS:
hey guys congratulations for all your videos, I watch them all, they are really well done and full of passion and sympathy, congratulations and I renew my greeting from Italy!
I love the dark always....
Are we not going to recognize the energy of the audience, the band feeds on them as much as they feed on the band
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Almost 200k people at Rock in Rio!
one of my favorite iron maiden videos!!! - i'm the man that walks alone............
check out bruce dickinson dive dive live his solo tour, near end of show guitarist who later went to maide, jannick gers is playing away while climbing up on the amps, while since they are at an instrumental part bruce goes back and starts playing the drums.
The first great live version for this song was on Real Live One album, also released as a single, recorded in Helsinki, Finland in 1992.
I was there!!! Jan 19th, 2001
It was amazing!
I cried there and every time I watched it.
Good video
Love your reactions guys.
Truly awesome concert
Rock in Rio.
Another legendary performance! For something a little lighter, try Blood Brothers from the same concert. It gives me chills every time. The thing about Maiden performances is, EVERY song is performed with the same energy and enthusiasm, whether it's new or old. The best live shows ever, bar none. 🔥🔥🔥
Best the best Iron maiden.
The ultimate crowd-connection singalong from the pioneers of hard rock. The smile on your faces tell it all. A fine example of respecting skill, passion, and an effing live atmosphere. Up with Irons!
Me : So Bruce ( lead singer) how do you rest up for the next show after all that running around.
Bruce: I think I'll fly the plane to the next show!
The man is a machine!!
Actually Bruce doesn't fly the plane the next morning. There are certain rules Bruce has to follow including a certain amount of hours of rest prior to flying. You have to understand that Bruce is just one of 3 pilots, I think but not sure, that tours around with them. He flies on off days when there's a 2 day window between gigs so if they land in Rio on a Monday, due a show on Tuesday and leave on Wednesday for Sao Paulo then Bruce won't fly the plane. But if they play a gig on Wednesday and don't leave Sao Paulo until Friday then Bruce will fly. Bruce said in an interview that regulations state that pilots need 12 hours of straight rest between flights. Performing at a show doesn't count as rest.
Greatest band of all time. Discuss....
Ok, thanks for all the input. Terrific to know we all agree 😉
I absolutely love watching Maiden live in Latin American venues. Always looks like a crazy party! Would love to be there!!
Suzie Q mentioned the drummer's quality. Interesting fact about the drummer, Nikko McBrain, plays barefooted.
Weird, eh? Love that guy!!
Iron Maiden is just... Rockstars. All the way through.
Not by smashing hotellrooms or eating bats. But just delivering rock.
bruce is a qualied commerial pilot and flies the plane, he also has massive vocaal range - the bassist writes the songs.
125000 in the amazing brazilian crowd
ohhh Yesss i love this Song! And I love to see you 2 getting so deep into the songs you are reacting.
loved the reaction, tnx guys. just love u guys reacting to amazing songs together...
I say out of all the commenters,i love the Wolf HunterZ too,i would say the most but i give credit to everyone as well.
One of my Favorite Songs from Iron Maiden. The Evil That Men Do was My First Iron Maiden Song. Greetings from Germany
Great job with your reaction to Fear of the Dark from Iron Maiden live from Rocking RIO 2001 .
I was there and the concert was amazing. Always nice to watch those videos again!
