    8:37 - The lead singer/guitarist of Megadeth, Dave Mustaine, used to be the lead guitarist of Metallica when they first formed. Substance abuse by Dave led to him being fired and replaced by Kirk Hammett. Afterward, Dave formed his own band, Megadeth. As far as being friends, that's a whole other story that you'll have to look up on your own 😅

      @riffgroove Рік тому +43

      It wasn't the substance abuse that got him kicked out, as ALL of the Metallica members were raging alcoholics at the time.
      It's the fact that Dave became a really nasty drunk when he was inebriated, which was pretty much most of the time.

      That’s bullshit they all did the same drugs and drank. But Dave became violent when he was drunk Then there was the incident where James Hetfield kicked Dave’s Pitbull puppy and Dave confronted him and In the argument Dave wound up punching James in the face sending him flying backwards and landing on his back. One of those You Got Knocked The Fuck Out moments. At that point Lars and James decided to start looking for a new guitarist in secret. Then they waited until a long road trip back East to finally tell him he was kicked out the band. Like a dirty friend who never liked you they dropped him off Penny less at the bus station and left. There is more to it but it’s slanderous to state it was due to substance abuse. Dave’s drug problems began in Megadeth when the musicians he hired all were into harder drugs like Gar Samuelson who was a heroine addict.

    The whole album is classic "Thrash Metal", one of the top tier echelons of accomplishments for a band. I've heard it so many times growing up that it would be ridicules to even attempt to try and count. By the way that is the staple of Thrash Metal, lots of change ups and riff's galore.....if you like those things you will continue to enjoy your adventure into the depths of these legendary musicians.

    • @metaltildeth6783
      @metaltildeth6783 Рік тому +2

      Yes, this whole album is a Thrash Metal master piece. Every song on 'Rust in Peace' is a classic with the exception of 'Dawn Patrol', which is basically just bass and drums with Mustaine reading the lyrics. The song is not bad, it just does not incorporate the whole band. 'Take No Prisoners', 'Five Magics', 'Lucretia', 'Poison Was the Cure' and 'Rust in Peace... Polaris' are lesser played gems. 'Hangar 18', 'Tornado of Souls' along with 'Holy Wars...' are the main songs most people like off this album.

Lots of information you can find online avout what happened but that motivated him to form this band and we are all happier for it!! Hi Aileen!!
    Each day your channel likes me more and more!
    Told you liked how you appreciate all instruments, especially the "underrated" bass. Many people don't preciate bass; great error!!! So...continuing with Megadeth I highly recomend you Peace Sells But...Who's Buying? (Great bass line!!!) and Tornado Of Souls (one of the best guitar solos all time in metal)
    As always, greetings from Spain!!!!

    80s metal refers to war alot because most of the bands grew up during the cold war and Madd.
    Something about scrambling to get under under your desk for bomb drills and knowing that the whole planet was toast if MADD really kicked off.
    Kids today have to worry about school shooting but cold war kids had to worry about a flash of light that would blind them, sear their shadow into surfaces around them and turn them into a pile of ash that would be irradiated and scattered for miles by a blast wave traveling at 1200 mph. Those were the lucky kids. Those that survived the blasts would probably be slowly killed by radiation burns and sickness or starve to death in the nuclear winter that would follow even "limited" exchanges.

  • @spencerific93
    @spencerific93 Рік тому

    The first part of this song is a criticism of war fought on behalf of religion, specifically The Troubles in Northern Ireland. Megadeth was playing a concert there, and Dave kept hearing people talk about "the cause". During the concert, and not knowing what he was getting himself into, Dave shouted something like "this is for the cause!" before ripping into a cover of Anarchy In The U.K. This resulted in a riot, and the band had to be escorted out of the country.
    The second part of the song is about the Marvel character The Punisher, of whom Dave was quite a fan.

    Megadeth always give the bass a proper position in the mix.
    This was my favorite band in the 80’s… the soundtracks of my coming of age.
    The entire Album’s of “Peace Sells”
    “So far, so good, so what”
    And
    “Rust in Peace”
    Are masterpieces. It started fading after that but you can find plenty of gems in their later albums too. Their last two albums have been surprisingly good.

    Yeah. Great choice for a reaction video. This song came out in 1990 great metal song to start the decade. Especially at a time of the onset of the Grunge coming into its own. Megadeth and Pantera who were keeping metal alive in the 90's along with many other bands. Megadeth is defiantly an 80's band for sure, but still going strong today.

    Also she-wolf and Hangar 18 are good ones to listen to as well it's hard to put one or two songs to listen to by Megadeth so I'd rather suggest you listen to the whole albums or reaction video but I can understand that that might be a little too much but you'll be amazed Symphony of Destruction is the regular go to for a reaction video It's a real good one too and on the radio it's kind of overplayed where I'm from so but it's still a good song it never gets old when you hear it and I thank you you play a lot of stuff that keeps going and happy and helps keep me from going crazy from my anxiety so thank you and keep up the good work and videos music is the gateway to soul and it is what ties everyone together and can make the world more peaceful ✌ ❤

Yeah, I know there are bands out there tuning down 3000 octaves, but riff-wise, this is the gold standard of HEAVY!

    Megadeth was born from a resentment Dave Mustane (lead singer and shredder for Megadeth) had against Metallica for kicking him out of the band (due to his drinking problem). There are many similarities between the two. As a matter of fact, if you listen to Mechanix by Mega and The Four Horsemen by Metallica, it's basically the same song.

    oh boy. what a history. To help look up the VH1 special Behind the music with Megadeth. The tag line was " Prepare to take a journey to the molten core of speed metal!" Released while they were producing their next album Countdown to extinction." 1991. It reached #2 on the billboard charts. right behind Metallica's black album, the self titled 5th one. Dave Mustaine has read the 17th, 18th & 19th century Enlightenment philosophers that inspired much of the policies of the USA up to the early 20th century when society moved away from voulentary self improvement and more forced improvement. So understand in the broad sense his music is often political but not partisan.
    His real pain and anger are in the music. He has battled cancer recently. fought back from nerve damage and at one point been resuscitated after OD'ing on drugs. In his own words at the time he had about 6 different things on him and several more IN him. Describes it as being on a mission to violate all the laws of god and man.
    In 2012 they did a live concert celebrating the 20th anniversary of Countdown to Extinction. Starting with medley of classic hits and current songs, they proceeded to play the entire album front to back without a break. Deep lyrics from a deep man and music to peel the paint off the walls.

  • @sirianfelixbrightonesquire3247

    I've been playing guitar for 23 years. Here's a tip I've given people I've taught to help make your learning and progress a more pleasant experience. Use your pinky as much as possible. It's a finger that gets overlooked a lot. If you ignore it in the beginning, by the time you get comfortable taking on songs like Holy Wars, Master of Puppets, Lucretia, Rust in Peace, Tornado of Souls, or Jump in the Fire, you're gonna have a bad time. Hell, I still catch myself tucking my pinky from time to time. (Positioning it beneath the fretboard, often times under the neck as well.) It's not a good thing to do at all. It's bad form. So is anchoring your pinky on your strumming hand to the body/pick guard/bridge pickup. It can be difficult learning to float your strumming hand over the strings while accurately hitting the strings you're aiming for, but it's an important technique which will allow you to have an easier time learning more advanced strumming hand playing techniques. Like finger-picking and being able to go from picking to tapping and back fluidly. It's impossible to use either of those techniques while anchoring your pinky.
    I hope that helps you on your path to becoming a great guitarist! And don't worry, you don't have to be a radio-played household name in one of the biggest bands on the planet to be a great guitarist. So don't kick yourself too hard for not being able to play the Crazy Train solo by your tenth attempt at full speed. You'll get there. Trust me.
    Also: Looking forward to your first cover! 😉
