I’ve seen worse but it’s still good to watch you guys show remedies instead of just pointing out the mistakes. I watch every one of these diary installs and I learn something new in each video. One of my favorite channels to watch and refer people to constantly.
A lot of problems with some people who do installations is that they think they can do it fast and make short cuts (I'm guilty of this myself in the early days) not realizing how time consuming it is to do it the right way. It doesn't just happen, it takes time to learn the speed and techniques and no vehicle is exactly the same. I see most of the beginners mistakes in these videos and the beginners can learn so much just by doing the right research. Honestly the series should be called Learning Curve because you explain every detail that you use to correct the mistakes.
@@ljmike1204 ive never worked in a install bay.. I wonder if it has to do with time and money needed to do it correct. If they charge by the hour plus materials to make the harnesses and speaker mounts and amp mounts. Or if they charge a flat rate and can only keep the care so long that doesn't allow them to do the install correctly... I don't know though... 5 star does amazing work from the 100's of videos I have watched. , compared to the videos of people trying to do it them shelves watching some high-school kid or whoever install there own speakers ,cutting up the speaker bracket ,tapping into the factory wire-harness ,and not properly insulating the fuse wires is cringe worthy.
Would it have been better to have disconnected the tweeters on the coaxes in the door? would having two different point sources for the highs not cause imaging issues?
So many so called "Professional installers" but not really when they get exposed like this. How would you suggest locating an actual pro installer and not scammed. Totally bringing on your vids, Great stuff, just wished I wasn't 2500 mile away so I can drop off my A7 to get all master level expertise and performance. thanks again
Where did you guys bring the power wire through the firewall on this car? I have a 2017 Corolla and I can’t find a spot, except maybe behind the glove box.
I took a car in to get the speakers in the front warrantied. The shop that had installed /sold then had installed equipment that was half the price of what I had paid for including the speakers, Focals. I had to make then install the right speakers front and rear and the sound processor. The shop then broke the sound processor and refused to finish setting the stuff up. I took it to another shop and got the processor warrantied. The manufacturer said don’t go back to that shop/dealer that broke it or the won’t warranty it again. Lol the speakers were broke during an oil change at a dealership. Techs playing with things they shouldn’t. I took the car to a dealer in a town about 150 miles away ( live in a western state) to get them warrantied and since it’s a drive I decided to have them replace them with a new set and would have tunes while I waited for the old set to be fixed. The India law there decided to replace the entire wiring that was warrantied and do his own stuff. He also took out part of the cars factory wiring and “ put the amp on the bench to test it” and broke it. It also needed to be fixed now!!! He also broke the sound processor somehow!! Took the car back to the shop that fixed the previous mess and got the wiring fixed and had to have the vehicles wiring fixed also. This is on a brand new Camaro. I sent in the amp and got the same response of they will fix it but do not return to the shop that broke it. Same with the processor. The two shops were the same name and were the only ones that had a dealership with the two brands. They decided to warranty the stuff there as they didn’t need stuff broken. I may not have been the first victim Lol. These were big name shops that did that. They could use an few instructors like the two of you to go in and teach them They unfortunately have to big of heads to be able to learn I would guess. I learned that even the big name doesn’t mean anything when getting sounds installed. Great job on showing the right way to do things.
im sure you have said it before but why do you use so thin speaker wires. when thicker ones will give better sound, as with the amps the bigger the cable the more power so wouldnt the bigger the speaker cable do the same. , [ i was told a few yrs back, the bigger the pipe the more water can flow thru it ] so if the wire was bigger the more sound can travel thru it, and clearer so wouldnt that do the same thing,
I have 2011 Corolla S and tried installing a new stereo . I used the Metra 70-1761 but I am getting NO sound . I put the old stereo and works. Car does have an extra harness that’s left unconnected. I’m guessing I have An amp? But I can’t find anywhere a connector to make my speakers work
Yep i have to 911 the speaker wires going to the rear parcel shelf in my car butttt i am waiting for the installer to get the stinger speaker cable i want to come in as he used the bigg 10 gauge for my subwoofer now i want to get the 16 gauge for the speakers
Hi Dean, I have a question a 2010 toyota sienna to change my radio I bought the pack, but my accessory wire to the radio comes out from the pac and I do not get power at any time, what could It be gracias.
Question. How do you determine ttime correction if you have tweeters high in the A pillar and the mids down in the door. Or any combination of dash and door mounted speakers?
It is recommended to measure to the larger speakers. Another option is to run full active which would allow you to set an appropriate delay to each independent speaker.
hello guys i have a alpine 650e in my car i want replace it with a alpine iLx f309e i trying to find out if wiring harness are the same or not i think they are please tell me thanks
I recomand stinger cables they have realy good qualety cables i used the stinger SK6241 (ther is a version with signal thats the SK6641 it has a nice sleeve on the part that wil be in the engain bay its pricy but full copper so yea
No kidding. The car was in 2 different shops before Five Star....the first shop was the one that did the hack job on the speakers. I was "robbed" for $200 from that shop.
911 do you need fire, ambulance, or police.?... I need police because I got robbed, and fire because my car and wallet got torched by my last installer before 5 start got a hold of it
Yes it was a horrible job . But no one can see it and if it worked I believe in the saying , If it's not broken then don't fix it. if you never took the car apart you never would have noticed it. I would have just tried to make sure no water was getting into the car . After that I would have just left it alone
I like the 911 name, but if youre gonna change it, i think "I know a guy..." would be a good title. What i DONT like, is your "car audio school" where EVERY SINGLE video is a complete tutorial on how to do EVERYTHING you do. Youve got dedicated vids on amp racks, figuring out which wire does what, how to make custom speaker spacers/mounts etc etc etc... so, DONT PUT THAT CONTENT IN A NORMAL VIDEO. Go look, every vid that has an amp install in it, is a complete tute on how you wire your amp racks. Or is it that you just like hearing yourself talk or have that much free time while doing your job that you feel you need to fill space? if you cut this content out, youd have a much easier time when editing, or be able to link to previous vids and spend more time with your family.
I went to your channel to see if you had the experience to throw them advice…..Are you being serious? LMFAO! You’ve got a long ways to go before you tell them what people want to see in their videos. 😂😂😂
These videos remind me of "This Old House", but for car audio. Love it.

5Star Makeover. Keep it as simple as 911
Play off the show "Bar Rescue" with "Car Rescue".
I love this series. Wish I had a partner at work like you guys get along lol
Really admire your work bro..working in kinda same line of work your clean work really deserve respect🤝
Great video! I would call it an "Audio Intervention".
Yo!! Swear I love these 911’s….. KEEP THE NAME….👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾

In deed my first instal was like that on my second car i went all out even spend 109 euro on a stinger cable kit

Sound intervention
Keep it simple... Five Star Rescue!
You guys are really professionals... regards from Lima, Perú
Love this series!!
Radio redemption sounds pretty good I think..
Would it have been better to have disconnected the tweeters on the coaxes in the door? would having two different point sources for the highs not cause imaging issues?
It does indeed. A gud mid woofer is most preferred as these coaxials tend to dip at certain mid frequencies compared to a Component woofer.

Never mind, I went behind the glovebox since it removes easily and there is a gromet back there.
Love the show, guys! What are good aftermarket speakers for an 07 toyota tundra crew max with the jbl system?
Anything that can stand some amp power. Go pioneer / skar / kenwood excelon

When it comes to the battery. Start with black end with black
Call them SOS "Save Our Stereo"
where can I get that blue speaker wire with the remote turn on wire ?
Car audio rescue sounds good but 911 is good also
Call them Audio Interventions.

It is recommended to measure to the larger speakers. Another option is to run full active which would allow you to set an appropriate delay to each independent speaker.
You can call them a wire refresh instead of 911 or maybe wire rescue those are my 2 suggestions
Now waiting for a "Porsche 911 Nine One One" video.
Car Audio Rescue, Do's and Don'ts
How about ER?
hello guys i have a alpine 650e in my car i want replace it with a alpine iLx f309e i trying to find out if wiring harness are the same or not i think they are please tell me thanks
You don't have to tap the screen like that to move the fade curser
Can you disclose price for this 911?
Does JL Audio use really good wire for their amp kits

@@ljmike1204 I have really good rca/patch cables on my car, and jl audio 2 gauge kit
How much is the emergency call say 911 I need to get my system fixed

Radio rescue!
I like 911s quick and concise, we know your repairing something that's ugly
3 screw option on two....
3 screw option on two....
Ready break!!!
Fernando Fix
You should call it either 911/ 411 or something that has to do with 411
Let’s call it Emergency Repairs
How about calling it a “rescue project”?
I like to call it: Rescue, rip it out make it best
Call them Pho Juan Juan’s
How about emergency calls 911
I like 911s cause the previous installer robbed you. I.E. Custom Radio in Williamsville robbed me on install, someone call 911!

Name them rescue 😁
Back yard special is i fitting name if you don't like 911.
Sometimes I click thinking it's a Porsche 911 so that's the only argument that you should call these videos something else.
DeFubar!
I like 911's because a poorly installed car stereo is a priority 1 emergency bruh
Redo Rescue… or 911😁
I bet you, this is a DIY job by the owner
Part of it was.
"To Zero and Back"
911!!! 👊🏿👌🏿
811 number you call before you dig
Audio rescue
Instead of 911, why not call it a "Decrapification?"
👍👍😎✌️ 911 👍👍
Car Rescue
"Radio Rehabilitation"
Disaster Recovery, Previous install rehab, lol
Car audio re-installation 😂
call it, destroy and rebuild hahaha

Cold Bass Files. - because it's an awful crime and no one knows who did it.

911 do you need fire, ambulance, or police.?... I need police because I got robbed, and fire because my car and wallet got torched by my last installer before 5 start got a hold of it
Car EMS
REHAB instead of 911 would be better not just because it looked like a tweeker installed the previous system 😂

For us Europeans 911 doesn’t make sense at all , but the name is ok, 9-11 makes sense.
How's 911 to a 9/11 for a name?
Horror installs
911
Unprofessional install
I like the 911 name, but if youre gonna change it, i think "I know a guy..." would be a good title.
