Perfect and detailed video instructions. I was wondering about those pigtail leads on my video cable. The instruction diagram didn't match and the instructions didn't translate well to English. Great video and instructions, I've done the same exact job to my 2009 venza, I had a budget of 300 cad, so I went for a used Pioneer AVH-280BT ( 150 cad ) + Metra dash mounting kit ( 70 cad ) + decent backup camera with tons of good reviews on amazon ( 40 cad ) + 2.5mm microphone from amazon ( 10 cad ) because the radio the radio is used and didn't have it + some required tools like sealant and drilling bit for the hole etc....
Everything works as expected and I didn't end up spending a ton of money.
For the radio I preferred getting a good and reliable known product, even if it is getting old, rather than buying cheaper chinese products, which are unreliable especially when the cold and humid hits here in Canada, so basically, I sacrified caprlay for reliability and staying on my budget.

So,...he makes this look pretty easy,...years back I let some guy install a new cd player in my Avenger, and it worked but oddly other things started to mess up, turning signals, dash lights, etc. It was weird...but now I don't let hardly anyone mess with my cars unless they know what their doing!

Thanks for the great detail. I would love to have seen more specifics on how you ran it and secured it the wires under the driver side but the rest of the details were great and doesn't skip sections. We first timers need to see every step so all the other videos that gloss over parts, like how they exactly popped off the pieces and routed from point a to point b, are a little frustrating. Looking at doing this (new radio & backup cam, plus a mono amp for subwoofer) on a old 2005 scion TC so most of the bits are the same (or essentially so) as this car.
For similar backup cam installs, you may want to check out the Auto-Vox units as they have a nice behind-the-license plate mount that would have saved drilling into the car for the attachment.
