How do you keep your shoulders parallel to the board but face your chest towards the nose. 😂😂😂

This is hands down the best tutorial for hardflips on UA-cam. You explain every step unlike most who just try to show their technique.

Been trying hard flips for a long time, watched countless how to videos but still no success. Tonight I watched your video at the local skatepark and landed a hard flip in about 5 tries, so I want to say Thankyou for making this video. This is the first ever how to video that's actually helped me!

Love that man with pushing your back foot forward. Stopped skating hard due to illness years ago. Could’ve done many flip tricks but never got around to learning hard flips, started learning them right before I faded into the darkness., whatever I was doing I was doing right as I was getting the flip that day I started taking it seriously, but from your description, I think it’s the best. And makes sense for anyone who will want to learn hard flips, esp the note on its its own trick apart from kick flip and fs shuv . Which I’ve always known seeing people hard flip by mistake, or inward heel instead of heel flipping and people can variable kicklip without doing shuv s or flips, I’ve witnessed this and when u look at the motion and pressure and weight for each of the tricks, it’s all different......however! I’m sure their are many who can do the fs shuv thing with the kick flick and get a hard flip.......we all have different speed flick patterns and weight and timing styles which all require different techniques. Thanks for sharing yours to the skate world 🦋🌺✊🏼🌎

Excellent video as always. You have a tenancy to repeat, or over explain things. I like that. Much better than leaving things out like most people do. I haven't seen a Hardflip video besides yours where they actually tell you to push the board forward. I'm glad you did the pre-vid clarification on the flick, because seeing you show it differently each time would've confused me lol.

  • @xXaerooff2Xx

Thanks for that video man. I'm learning hardflips right now and I actually have landed a few "fs varials", but this vid showed me how to do it properly. Haven't seen any better before, all others explenations are like "stand like that, do that, that's all", so thanks again.

so true. I can't skate a 7.75 AT ALL...I started with 8's, and moved up.
I learned how to treflip with an 8.75 and now I'm back down to an 8.5 which is pretty comfortable (surprisingly still feels a lil small)
thanks for the tips man! It all makes sense now!

haha I know exactly where you are coming from dude. When I was learning how to skate way back when, the internet was the only place I could go to learn how to skate. So I survived on trick tips and such; and I'd get super pissed with how standoffish and cold so many trick tippers are, it's crazy. It's like they didn't care about the little guys at all, absolutely no replies for the people who have problems, I hated that so much. And now I'm here doing the stuff I wish I had access to when I was younger, haha
So the pleasure is all my dude

I'm still working on it, but believe it or not, being able to front shuv no-comply helped me a lot more than normal front pop shuvs. Because I get the board staying under me and going between my legs with the no comply. Pop shuvs fronside go behind me do that feels less like a hardflip.

Yeah, I think it's funny watching different vids of the same trick seeing how different people do the exact same trick in totally different ways. I saw this little kid teaching a Hardflip and he flicked damn near backwards lol.
Also wanna tell you I most enjoy your "odd" trick videos, like the Mentally Accelerated series. Probably why Haslam is one of my favorite pros. I hope you do more of those types of tricks. The Gazelle Nerdflip you did was very excellent.

Once he said he didn’t like hardflips that have more of a front shove in them I was out. Some of the best hardflips in the game, Bryan Herman and Mike Carrol both do them that way, plus a grip of other people. They are definitely the more stylish of the two.

I think you're sliding your foot forward like an olllie or kickflip. The best way to feel this trick out is to just pop and push like he said with your back foot and just leave your front foot right where he says to leave it and you'll feel the trick start. Then you just flick perpendicular and it should flip right around.

    • @slowmomike
      @slowmomike  10 років тому

Yeah this is when things get a little iffy because I had an easier time learning since I'm kind of tall, so I really didn't have to learn how to evade from hardflips. What I would recommend is possibly trying hardflips and planting your back foot on the ground once you start them? You know, to get a feel of the rotation and making sure that the hardflip rotates fast enough. You can also go buy yourself a cup too if you think it may help you be more confident. I think those are some good ideas.

I don't put it on the ground immediatly, but I can't keep it up the whole time my board does the motion. I think my problem is tucking in my legs, but like I said, if i focus on tucking in my legs I can't really pop it because I'm to focused on tucking in my legs. Maybe you have some tips so I can learn how to tuck in my legs better? If not, I'll just have to keep practicing :) And thanks for the help man, I really appreciate all the work you put in helping others! I'll let you know if it helped

Ive got the motion with me, its just that usually, as I jump and pickup my back foot, my back foot accidentally taps or gets the board and either get a shinner on that leg, or land the board upside down. Its really weird but in first person, I feel like I will get the motion, but just end up with hardflip fails, some times I do land it though

main thing i noticed with hardflips is that you have to commit. and commit hard.
you cant half commit or you end up nutting yourself. its like doing a backflip, if you are not going 100%, you will probably mess up.
    (at least while learning)

I have a problem with my hardflips, i get the flick down just fine, board does the full motion and i can land it with my front foot, but I just seem to instantly put down my back foot... If I focus on really jumping with my back foot, I can't get the full motion of my board. I've noticed that I have a different placement of my back foot, I put both my feet parallel. I've tought that might be the reason why I can't seem to land them, because I think I have my shoulders twisted too much see part 2
