      yeah him and a few others, they all got caught when I looked up "Inward Heels" on youtube on the first few pages
      Nothing personal to him, but he really should remove those videos so that more people don't get confused

    THE VISUALIZATION THING HAS HELPED ME SO MUCH. The whole "in between the legs" thing really messed me up too. this definitely clears up how to imagine yourself doing the trick!

    You're one of the few who go so deep into analysing a trick in order to make it fully understandable to the viewer(s).Props to that,keep it up and thanks!

    Wow! I remember I was waiting for you to post this for a while but over time I just got the balls to try it and learned them now. My problem was that I just wasn't committing because I could get rotation pretty much every try. I have to tuck my knees in so high haha

    • @slowmomike

      Yeah my apologies for being so late =X everything was against me haha
      Glad you learned it though man! Great to hear it!
      I should give myself a mental note to stress the "tucking your legs" part in my official video then!

      Thanks for the reply! And you're fine, I noticed you were busy. And thank you. And ya for me the tucking the legs part was very important since the trick is so vertical as it does not just flip easily under you as other tricks. Well keep up with the sick tricks man, I love your videos!

      No problem man! It's my pleasure!

    Very detailed video. I tried this trick a few days ago and I got the 180 rotation and flip but I didn't have enough time to tuck in and jump over the board and sometimes when I try shuving it hard it ends up flying away from me. Even the varial heel is way easier, I was able to flick out easily and land it quickly. Anyways, glad your back. Hopefully it won't take you months to show up again.

      Thanks man! I personally shove exactly like a BS pop shove, you shouldn't put that much power into it
      And yeah I'm trying to be a little more consistent when it comes with uploading, problem is I'm always super busy :P Luckily the weather is getting better

    If anything it really helps me understand the trick more. I had to watch so many Inward Heels before I realized exactly how it passes by the front foot. It's weird, Heelflips are that one basic trick that I just couldn't get consistent at. I've only landed a few without toe drag, but I find the Heelflip variations to be a little easier for some reason.

    I've been doing a couple of tries on Inward Heelflips the past days. The foot placement in itself was the same as yours, but I couldn't figure out what exactly to do. It's kinda weird since I was able to do Inward Heels on another board some years ago. The way you visualise the trick has helped me to get the rotation down pretty well, I only need some more practice on actually landing it.
    Thanks so far, can't wait for the *official* Trick Tip.

    thanks bro, that realy helped me, i am only 12 and i am kinda short so could not make the board do his full rotation but the nose thing and the flick and pop shove way to think realy made me progress, when i saw steven fernandex trick tip i notest that he flicked down and he has nt his front foot a bit out of the board but i decided to see more trick tips and i saw that every shorter guy did that way and was though that i needed to grow up to can land a inward but no and now i can do it, congrats, you just won a subscriber, continue working, youre the best! thanks!

    + Colton Skates Yeah, before I make trick tips, I look at what sources people have for learning it. So I type "Inward Heel" and his videos showed up. So when people want to learn it, they are getting some misinformed videos. What also confuses me is that he made a re-do of his video (even though his "inwards" did not exactly improve) and still kept the old one up. When I re-do something, I would kill the previous video if I realize it has misinformed information.
    Definitely not attacking the guy personally, he was just caught in the crossfire when I typed "Inward Heel", but he should kill off all of his inward videos so that more people won't get confused.

    What kind of learning level would you consider inward heels to be on? When should i learn them? I have my bs pop shuvs down very well, although I do need a lot of work on my heelflips.

    • @slowmomike
      @slowmomike  9 років тому +1

      Now after I learned em properly, I'd say that they are around a varial kickflip level of difficulty (maybe a little harder), 360 flips seem more difficult than them. But this all just personal preference. But yeah, those pop shoves and heelflips are definitely key to the trick.

    • @slowmomike

      Anything in particular about the varial flip?
      General tips would be:
      1) Treat the shove, pop and jump exactly like your pop shove
      2) When you flick, flick outwards and *into* the board. Really try to get your front foot to go through the nose of the board so that the board will flick and rotate

    I have a similar issue with he visualization of hard flips, when I landed them at first, they were just illusion flips, too vertical to be considered a hardflip, but now when I form real hardflip a I have trouble landing them, I'm wondering if this logic would apply to hardflips? Thanks

    • @slowmomike
      @slowmomike  9 років тому

      Alex Taylor I am not too sure, give it a shot and see what happens. Normally I just try to do like a vertical fs shove and a perpendicular flick off the board and that gets the job done for me. If it works it works, if it doesn't then just try to find more stuff that will help you "click" with hardflips, I'm sure my hardflip tip should help you in that regard

    • @slowmomike
      @slowmomike  9 років тому

      Definitely remember to treat your shove like a pop shove
      With pop shoves, you should be pushing the board forward a bit (in the direction of your nose), same exact thing goes for inwards. Let me know how that works for you.

    • @epicmickey1983
      @epicmickey1983 8 років тому

      Try moving your front foot down

    • @MrOmaIlse
      @MrOmaIlse 7 років тому

      Try putting your backfoot more towards the heelside half of your tail as you would set up for a fas shuvit, but scoop backside). Also start flipping earlier, slide your front foot up a little slower than for a heelflip and extend your leg more - just like a ninja kick. Also try flipping more paralel to the ground.
      I know this sounds weird, but the inward heelflip is a little bit about some kind of pressure you create between your feet - you are shuving the board right into your flipping foot, you can feel that - and when your front foot leaves the board that pressure is released and the board flips. I like to think of it a a loaded spring that i released.
      This trick is mostly about the front foot. The back foot doesn´t do a lot. When I do them it nearly feels like I´m just popping down, not a even a solid scoop as I would do for a pop shovit. When I leave the front foot out the board just flips end over end or does a weird vertical pop shovit. For me the flip as well as the rotation of the board comes all from the front foot and the key to that is starting to flip as soon as you start to pop (when I do heelflips I flip right after I pop), flick it not to fast but with "conviction" and extend your leg out a lot so your board has room to come around and your foot doesn´t stop the rotation. When I did a bunch of these I see marks from my shoe at the heelside edge of my nose right next to the pocket. That´s where I flip them.

    • @slowmomike
      @slowmomike  9 років тому

      Yeahhhhhh, it's really easy to manipulate people when you have a big subscriber base. I can easily go make a video and sell some dumb wheels and advertise them as "they will make tricks easier!", and some people will listen to me because I have a large subscriber base. It's unfortunate, but yeah stuff like that happens, so I'm trying my best to stop that shit hahah.
