Awesome dude 🤙🏼 you're still young, you got a lot of skating ahead of you if you keep it up. I am 20 and I am super close to landing my first hardflip now and I hope to continue skating into my 40s.
Yea same dude just two days ago I accidentally almost did a hard flip and I’m already taking it down stuff 😂😂but yea the hang time and catching it was my issue
Finally somebody who says something important about the back foot on this trick, most think it's all on the flick but that "pop-follow" thing seems to make a lot of sense and may be very helpful.
I’m getting closer to throwing the trick consistently. Just having trouble with the rotation on the back foot and timing with the front but I’m getting closer. This might be the most helpful tutorial on hard flips I’ve seen so far❤️
Also, how I do this trick is ; scoop the tail sort of like an impossible, keep the front toes pointed almost inline with the nose, scoop down/under while dragging the tip of my shoe straight up. I like that you especially mentioned the “ jump”. Also after the slight flick it helps me to temporarily think of my front foot as the back foot while in the air ( look how far back the front leg gets sucked back )
Considering I just landed a few front shuv, I’ll attempt HF once I’m getting more consistent. Thank you for the upload, your hard flip looking really good I must say.
Its a really fun trick for sure. Having frontside shuvits really good I think is really important for this one. Tutorial for that trick coming soon as well.
This is what I’m talking about right here America! Real down and dirty skate trix. Smooth like peanut butter on a whole wheat sliver of toast. Thank you Benny
Nice tutorial. I struggle to even form the motion for this, my front foot either just does a kickflip or misses the board entirely. I’ve had kickflip and front shoves on lock for a while but am nowhere near a hardflip and getting frustrated! Such a cool looking trick though.
I learned fakie hardflips recently after learning fakie frontside flips. I wanna do this trick off this gap at my skatepark so I gotta learn regular hardflips. Yesterday I learned frontside flips so I think today is the day I learn hardflips. You explained it perfectly!
I’m glad it helped. I personally find normal hardflips easier but I never really do them fakie. I think I’ll do some next skate session. I’m sure you could get it over the gap if you get them hood on flat. Thanks for the comment.
Ayye im seeing alot of Georgia spots! Love seeing a local on youtube. Great instructional video on a infamous trick 🤘🏻 would love to catch a sesh some time homiee
Been a bit since I’ve seen this vid but it got me to hardflip so much love, thank you for these videos they help out so damn much, and again thank u :)
@@Skiddyskates sorry for not responding earlier! Not used to bigger channels actually doing that! Tbh I wouldn’t mind something different like “how to warm up” or “what stretches and preventative measures skaters should know”. As far as tricks go tho, for me I really wanna get Fakie bigspins, nose manuals and fs/bs flips. Love your content btw bro. Really happy to see you growing🙏🏻🔥
Nice! If you guide the board the rest of the rotation with your front foot after you catch it then you can just drop your back foot onto the board. Hope that helps.
I’ve been skating on and off since around 1990, so it feels weird watching a tutorial on a trick I’ve been doing for years. I’ve taken a series of injuries in the last decade that have caused me to skate very very little, one of which resulted in a missing chunk of bone in my foot AND loss of confidence in my ability. I guess what I’m trying to say is we are never too old to learn or in my case, re-learn something.
@@edoardobertelli8874 nice! I'm working on another kickflip video actually since the one I made has so many questions. Hope you keep skating and enjoying it.

The thing is I have hardflips but I don’t got them clean like I used. Like at times it won’t rotate all the way and I have to tick tack out in order for it to be a land.
For sure I used to have that problem I got good at them doing them off of a curb. It gave me some time to get that rotation around. After that I just started popping them higher on flat so I could do the same thing. I hope this helps.

@@Skiddyskates so... Yesterday I "landed" My first 4 hardflips (stationary)! 🥳 Although I landed very far nose side and (as you said) the board didn't rotate the whole way I managed to actually land it. I just changed the back foot position from the heelside part to the toeside part of the tail. Popping straight down at this position flips the board right into my front foot, which makes it easier to get the flick right! Now it's practicing time to get it clean while rolling. Thanks so much again for your videos! If it's somehow possible for me I'd like to upload a clip or so of my hardflips for you to watch them. Have a nice day! ✌
Yea for sure, I used to have the same problem. I pull my front foot over to catch as soon as I flick then kind of help it around the rest of the way. Keeping your shoulders square with the bolts helps a lot too.
Just one question...do you like imagine flick super late when the board is pretty much straight between your legs? Whenever I try it it just becomes like a very rocketed kickflip
When I do my "hardflips" I have my front foot the opposite of what everyone else does it seems. I put my front foot with my heel planted In the middle with my front toes hanging off, when I flip it I'm kicking my front foot way out like a heelfip and the board flips under that front leg and between my legs. Idk it's weird looking
i keep trying frontside flips and hard flips and when i do the front foot kick to make it flip i shoot to board and it goes flying out, almost hit somebody once
This is common when you first start landing them. You really want to keep your shoulders lined up with where the bolts and where you want the board to go. This will help you guide the board the rest of the way around. At 6:15 you can see what I mean.
If you are watching this but you are still struggling with Kickflips, check out my how to Kickflip video here: ua-cam.com/video/Bp1j0Q5eYcw/v-deo.html
