I am part of a group that teach night vision for my agency..he made it look easy...just going through the classroom and movement takes hours..more so with live fire and tactics..even with students that have a some experience with nvgs..good content
Perry has more time under Night Vision than most. That's why we asked him to help with this. Cody and I both have a lot of missions under our belt with NV from our time in the Marines and Ranger Battalion, but Perry has us both beat by a lot. He's also a phenomenal teacher.
I love how he starts it simple, without any live fire drills. Demonstrates how important alignment of your laser is, and centres the focus on distance assessment. Will lead to good reflex.
After running around at night a fair bit with my pvs14 I'll add that retention is really nice not only because its gonna keep your unit attached but its also gonna take the slack out of system. Just a little bit of tension keeps everything in place really nicely. (kinda baffles me that theres slop at all when each one of these little mounting pieces costs several hundred dollars XD)
Might want to mention too when storing your NOD's not to leave the battery inside, for a couple of reasons, if not being used for a while the batteries can leak and also if someone else happened to pick them up and turn them on they can't damage them to sunlight if the battery is not installed. Also when you mentioned about getting them for the first time and checking them for blems, this should be done with the daylight caps installed or at night in a darkened room as even auto gated tubes can still be damaged by strong lighting especially the higher gain tubes.
Dudes running adjustable diopters like a 1531: the saying for focusing is ‘outer, inner, outer’. Adjust the outer (objective) to get the image as sharp as you can at the desired distance. Then do the inner (diopter). Then finally just tweak the outer. That’s how we were trained to do the AN/AVS-9s, and it works great on the adjustable diopter ground goggles as well. Gives you the sharpest image with the least eye strain.
Funny thing is, yes, duals are awesome. Even single PVS14s have the same issue. You're not aiming down the sights! A designator is incredibly important for single/dual. Add that to your budget for NVGs. You MUST have a laser designator.
Thank you for the video, I decided the best mono was better than trying to get the same cost dual. The light shift being by myself seemed to be of additional value. My first use will be nocturnal animals.
Good job. Something that I’ve always stressed to those I run with/teach/etc is retention while in use. I have seen a ton of JerryRigged setups to 1) secure NVGs to the helmets & 2) placing tension on this so as not to rattle/bounce. A lot of helmets have the bungee straps but are too short/not anchored well & pop out/etc. It would be worth a few minutes for y’all to show some of the more tried & true means to secure & retain NVGs. Yeah, Wilcox makes great stuff but not everyone Civilian Warrior has $ for it all. Just a thought. I’m about 100 miles from Sweetwater & wouldn’t mind visiting your place. Do y’all have a brick & mortar or just doing web sales? I’ve just seen your bldg from a distance in passing.
At first u didn’t look like a seal the first 5 seconds of vids but when it changed and u were standing with the guns behind u I could see a seal thanks for ur service
@16:19 hey bro, your index finger is blocking your magwell receiving the mag 😂😂😂. Guys will spend thousands on Gucci gear but have little to no proficiency…
Come back to us when you can reload perfectly while unable to see your rifle. They are unable to see their rifles because the objective lens of their tubes are pointed forward, not down. If you haven't practiced reloading in the dark or with your eyes closed you have no room to talk shit, you keyboard warrior.
It looked to me like he was using his index finger to guide the mag into the well, I think unless you sit there in the dark with your eyes closed and practise changing mags without looking then you won't get it right first time, all the time, so it's certainly something to consider to practise doing, if you want to become proficient at shooting at night and have quick and perfect mag changes.

Perry is a really good teacher. We need to get him back out for some more videos. Anything in particular you'd like to see?
Off the top of my head, not exactly. He must have a few more tips with those kind of hours, huh?

Solid info from aolid, experienced soldiers. Much appreciated.

Excellent video. The install/fix and fixture section was a pleasant surprise and super informative. Yee is a great instructor.
Glad you found that informative!
Nice job Perry. The integration of helmet and NV is very slick! 🙂
The airport looks like a dance party.
Yo, we should collab. We can hook up the U.S.S. with some pretty dank setups.
@@HardHeadVeterans we’re always up for a good colab. You may have heard of the project we’ve been working on the last couple years with Pfizer.

Brother Perry. good to see you still killing it out there!!

Great video, fellas. Been night larping for about 3 years now and I still just can't get enough. Bad guys come out at night. Vampires do too.
I love the intro !!!

Hey, a mono today is better than a dual tube in 3 years. You can always get a bridge later and upgrade it to a dual tube system!
Thanks for the video!!

I really want to see the up armor in a video
