And he done that good without the normal backup singers and the harmonies you hear in the album version I'm impressed because I've been an incubus fan for a long time and honestly have never really heard them do live show
Chris I just lost my little brother a week ago to Suicide. He was 33. This song hits so close to home for me. I tried to be there. We had openly talked about his struggles. I tried to keep him from drinking. He promised me he was gonna be ok. I love and miss him so much. Everyone Cares, Love Harder
you did everything you could, and more. Im so sorry you've lost your brother. Apparently he couldn't live with the pain anymore and saw no other way out. Im sure he is proud that you are his brother, and you we're there for him. A very Big Hug for you Justin. Im sending you love and light 💞🕯🙏
I'm 54 and it seems I've heard this song on the radio more frequently this year (2024). I don't recall hearing it for several years so it is new again to me.
This jam helped me make my mind up to get off hard drugs in my early 20's. I'm 36 now and still have to throw it on from time to time. Thanks guys, I appreciate your wisdom, no matter your intentions when writing this masterpiece.
I was born in 07' and my biggest regret was not being old enough to see this live. Incubus is my favorite band and always will be. 🫶 My mom was pregnant with me when Light Grenades came out, and she listened to it on repeat so much that the lyrics and songs are practically engraved in my bones. Incubus slayed this so hard. Love yall
Old heads like me really appreciate it when you who JUST missed this era of music, go back and at least attempt to appreciate it….. because it was another world, kid. I seen Incubus 3 times from 00-02, and it was just epic
I get the funny feeling that they removed the previous video with this name where the singer looked so high lol, now they put this one and censored the other BETTER one... oh the new generation...
Brandon's vocals are insane. Sure it's a pretty basic song, but just absolutely hitting every note in a live performance, knowing it's going on TV and you have to be perfect. He seemed so calm what the hell.
I JUST discovered Incubus... Yup a little late. I have gone through all the albums and can't believe how great they are. Drive gives me goosebumps with Brandon's vocals, the lyrics and the vibe. I compare it to one of my other discoveries this year that I love (late again), Would? with Layne Stayley and Alice in Chains. Power, emotion, harmonies...the goosebumps factor.
I was really in to Incubus just before 9/11. I had their albums and listened to them on the way to and from work. I remember driving home from work on 9/11 from Dulles Airport to Arlington VA after the attack, early release. I was against traffic. As I crossed Lee Highway, there were no cars, just thousands of people walking. Traffic was so gridlocked that walking was quicker than driving. Tens of thousands of people abandoned their cars. I lived a mile and a half from the Pentagon and could smell it burning when I got home. I walked down there the next morning and stood on the hill where the Air Force memorial is now looking on the smoldering remains of the west face. A friend of mine died there in the Navy Command Center. I walked in his funeral cortège in Arlington Cemetery soon after. All of these things well up as I listen to this.
Oh yea! the lyrics are like the ones from the 60s 70s against the wars and establishment. No one else singing songs like this for the last couple decades now. Awesome! Beautiful! Smart! Brave!
Whenever my mind goes back to those “dark times” in my life, I just listen to this.. This song always reminds me that I am in control and not let my past take over..

Once in a great while, there's a song or 3 from a group of musicians that strike a deep, deep chord in the depths of one's soul. This is one of those bands.
This is my favorite song of all time. I can be having the worst day, watching the news, questioning my life choices, wondering if I did a good job raising my daughters, and then, this song. It always brings me back to myself again. Oh, and the daughters turned out alright.
Keep your head up high no matter what. Reward yourself for your efforts. Cherish the memories. Do not let anyone down you. Just words of encouragement.
"Drive" - Thee coolest, most meaningful, impactful and profound solo! It was this song that made me fall in love with Incubus all over again. Certain Songs from certain CD's bring you back to certain events/people that were in your life at that time. I fell hard and fast for "Danny" -too bad it didn't last that long. At least we had Incubus together. Thank you, Incubus ♡
Thank you Incubus, this song changed my life for the better. It finally made me decide to take the wheel both figuratively and literally. For that I am eternally grateful. Keep rocking!!
I can really feel the nostalgia hearing this. As a kid we’d take road trips from Oklahoma to Nebraska and my parents let me pick the radio stations. A couple of years ago my mom passed away, and this reminds me of those road trips. Reminds me of the good times, I’m 28 now, but this gets me. Love music from this era. Love you all!

I'm always impressed when a singers live voice sounds as great as it was on the album
80s and 90s kids not really impressed. Music used to be for talented people. Nowadays autotune and all that sh make anyone an "artist".

Exactly! I agree!
Especially when they do it solo, Han.
This is called talent, not autotune and voice modifying.

This song has such a deep meaning to not let fear drive your life. It's a beautiful perfect song.
The vocals are SO in synch with the rhythm. This band is as tight as you can get.
Absolutely - the percussive nature of the whole band is notable.
Kid poured his heart and soul in to this one

Brandon is a true artist. And he’s not bad on the eyes. 😎
This performance is an absolute vocal masterclass from Brandon. He can go off on runs if he wants, chooses not to. Just emotes. Brilliant.
Oh yea! the lyrics are like the ones from the 60s 70s against the wars and establishment. No one else singing songs like this for the last couple decades now. Awesome! Beautiful! Smart! Brave!

The not all about me music era. There are some good artists out there but I cannot relate to Swifties etc
Incubus is one of the greatest bands ever fr this is forever a timeless classic and phenomenal 👏👏👏😁
The record scratching added on it was really nice. Listening to this version gives me goosebumps that's how good it is

I miss the time singers would just sit there and sing.
No auto tune, no tons of effects, no over sexualization.
He's still sexy sexy af
No autotunes, no pre-recorded shit.. just their gear and talent. I hope music will go back to something like this..
It’s the music industry, thanks to autotune, they don’t need to make money off of talent anymore, just people that are good looking.
All up to Gen z now
elavted cost off producciòn in actually . its the problem.
Don't be so sure, autotune had been around for like 4 years at this point. This was around the time when it was being used much more common.

Lyrics :
Sometimes
I feel the fear of
Uncertainty stinging clear
And I, can't help but ask myself how much I'll let the fear
Take the wheel and steer
It's driven me before and seems to have a vague
Haunting mass appeal
But lately I'm beginning to find that I
Should be the one behind the wheel
Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings
I'll be there, I'll be there
So, if I
Decide to waiver my
Chance to be one of
The hive
Will I choose water over wine
And hold my own and drive?
Aah ah ooo
It's driven me before and it seems to be the way
That everyone else gets around
But lately I'm beginning to find that when
I drive myself my light is found
Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings
I'll be there I'll be there
Would you choose water over wine?
Hold the wheel and drive
Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings
I'll be there I'll be there
