I’m proud of you.
Stay strong God bless good brother! We are proud of you!
Stay strong my brother.
Congrats. Keep the good work, it's hard to fallback
icypyschedelic hayes good job
This was my older brothers favorite band. He died two days ago and still don’t know how to feel. It’s been really weird. But I’m still gonna listen to incubus for those good memories of him
I’m sorry to hear. My condolences to you and your family. Your brother must’ve been a great man.
@@chrisperez4199 it’s weird. He was great. I’ll miss him. Can’t do anything but to try now
that must be extremely weird. do you want to describe the situation, since we're a bunch of internet strangers who won't be full of Sorry For Your Losses about it? it seems like the people closest to the deceased person usually have basically no one to talk to because everyone's being so careful around them. how old was he? was he married? do you want to say how he died? etc
honestly you're clearly in shock still so please don't make any major life changes (don't break up with your gf, quit your job, decide to move, or anything like that-- tell everyone in your life you need a minute)
@@SpecialBlanket I’m still doing everything I should. I haven’t left nor quit my job, I’m just empty. Trying to do things I hoped he would’ve been proud of. That’s all I can do.
The transition between Steven Yeun to Incubus on this song gave goosebumps

Same. That, and the amazing grace that he sang. was beautiful!
My Dad just had a stroke. A mild one. Complete 80s rocker, had the long hair, is a self taught guitarist. This is a song of many he has listened to with me, discussing the moral of the song. I’m so thankful to have music like this because they hold memories of my father… how I felt with him in those moments come flooding back.

My mom used to listen to this song on repeat and sing it all the time when I was little. Song just randomly got stuck in my head. Miss my mom.
Karlie Stoddard 😢😢😢
This song was my "thinking" song as a teenager. I would sing it multiple times a day cuz for some reason it was only thing that made me feel like me being me would be, okay. Idk what the feeling was that this song gave your mom that made her love to sing it repeatedly but I'm sure that she was moved in a way that made her soul happy. And she gave u this song that you will never forget , so u can always remember.
she lives everytime you listen to this song.
Thank you guys so much :,)
What a sweet memory! I can’t imagine a better lullaby for your mom to have sent you forth into the world with. You are a lucky girl. And your mom certainly knows that.

im a plumber. my old boss with my first company used to play this type of music and i miss tf out of our rides home getting shloaded listening to the best dad music. shoutout Chip.
Hahaha. I've lived enough to hear Incubus be described as "dad music". Bless you, lad!
Check out some nine inch nails, guano apes and deftones for even more old man entertainment.
Dad music OMG lol.. this is what all the cool kids bumped in the early 2000s
Woke up with this song in my mind and had to find it and play it. Who else had this song stuck in their head?
wow. so did I...that's weird
Danny Koko That is weird there is no reason, I hadn't even heard this song since about 2002
That's what I'm saying. It's been forever, and to both randomly come here to listen to it. Definitely odd!
It's always a fav and one that reoccurs in my mind as well...just a good theme and good spirit to it, a song that has a vibration attuned to my own spirit.
You all do realize that an incubus is a demonic male sexual spirit right? And when you listen to this you are inviting demons into your minds.
the most underrated band to ever grace this beautiful earth
believe me, incubus isn't underrated
only one? you clearly know nothing young one
i don´t have to, you´re the one who knows nothing. google it, check their full discography, watch morning view sessions video, you won´t regret it. you´ll also find out they have millions of fans and followers
thenightfox Anna Molly, Are you in, Pardon me, Dig, Stellar...some bands are a one hit Wonder like New Radicals, crash test dummies, incubus is way beyond that definition....perhaps you don't like the style and that s ok, but that s you
Wish you were here is another great song
After years of living with depression and anxiety and multiple suicide attempts. Today..I can say now... whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there.
Err..... unless untimely death occurs.
even after... just in another way
Rebecca C I feel you, went through the same, this was my jam when I was a teenager. Still is 10 years later. Love yourself, love life, live without regret!
Rebecca C Why'd you stop?
A.I I stopped because I learnt how to live in the moment and take it one day at a time. I try to see the good in everyday and after a while you realize life really is worth living. I didn't do it alone tho... medication settled my mind... my counselor got to the root of my problems and my family and friends carried me through. I still struggle with myself but I have come so far. things get better... we grow and look back at our old self and can feel proud for being strong enough to get through all the shit we were dealt. Hope that answers your question and helps anyone who reads it.
This song and album were so good. Incubus and Linkin Park defined the early 2000s, the last great decade of music
For me, it was the '90s which was the last great decade of music, but the '00s was the decade that music stopped evolving. Everything since then just sounds the same.
Every decade had its style, everything was changing year after year, for example, the early '90s were so much different than the late '80s, but now, whether something came out in 2010 or 2024, it's almost the same.
Even some new bands, mostly alternative, which make good music, they just rehash the '00s, if not the '90s.
@@Dreamcatcher9000early 2000s had some great music different but great .. you can listen today and brings such a nostalgic feeling … those years you mentioned were a completely different sound alternative rock bands didn’t make it 💔
@@Soamazinq3 Nostalgia depends on age, of course. I was born in 1979, so I was a kid in the '80s and a teenager in the '90s, so, I feel more nostalgic about those decades. Weill, I even feel nostalgic for the '70s and '60s, which I didn't live! :p I have some nostalgia for the early '00s, but they don't make me feel this "warmth" I feel for the previous decades.
What year were you born?
@@Dreamcatcher9000 understood I get it .. I was born in 91 so I was a kid in the 90s but still remember everything about the 90s from music to movies it was a great decade I was a teenager in the 2000s era then an adult so really all these decades mean something to me .. I respect the generations before as well because I Also occasionally listen to music from the 60s 70s and 80s thanks to my mom
@@Soamazinq3 So which do you prefer mostly, the '90s or '00s? I have more fond (music) memories from the '80s, when I was a kid, so maybe you have more fond from the '90s when you were a kid, compared to the '00s;
Objectively speaking though, regardless of ages and generations, the '90s were SO much better than the '00s.
And what do you like mostly from the '80s?
This is one of the rare ones that you can play and EVERYONE knows the lyrics, EVEYONE sings along and EVERYONE loves the band... still jamming incubus over 20 years later!

Early 2000's man, Good memories.
it was during 2000-2001, so very close to that year when i was listening to it.
this is one if my go to songs when I'm hitting up some new art work! just did some again today with this song on ✌👌🎨
+kirwi kirwinson incubus is avant garde enough my friend
+kirwi kirwinson Music in general can be an incredible source of inspiration. Music is Art. It holds so many complex emotions and themes, and much like a painting, can be interpreted by the one enjoying it.
From this particular song, I noticed themes of overcoming weakness or perhaps addiction if the wine metaphor is to be taken literally, growing as a person, and most importantly seizing control of one's future. That's some pretty powerful stuff, and the raw emotion people draw from music makes an excellent reservoir to tap into when working to produce the necessary creative "building blocks" that we artists need to work with.
As an aspiring writer, I can tell you right now that I cannot write without music. It gets my brain moving and into a mode that identifies words and their meanings, and it helps me construct metaphors easier.
When I need ideas, I listen to very powerful music that evokes strong and intense emotions.
When I need to write about something and describe it, I listen to Hip-Hop/Rap of the complex lyrical variety because hearing complex rhymes and language skills helps me to construct better sentences.
I know a lot of people dismiss Rap as mere audio pollution, and don't get me wrong a lot of it is, I'm a serious Rap snob, but don't underestimate the power of the mind and the complex rhymes it can create.
Story-Telling Rap is my favorite kind. I love hearing someone paint a picture in my mind with words. The moody and/or eclectic beats, the artist's raw emotive speech, the complex language skills uses to produce mesmerizing stories... there are some truly talented individuals out there.
I couldn't imagine what my writing would be like had I never discovered such a powerful source of inspiration.
So don't limit yourself or others to a particular type or style of music when immersing yourself in the creation of art. People seek inspiration from so many different sources; music, their lives, other forms of art entirely, all of it valid and immensely powerful.

The early 00's was just about as great as the 70's-90's we almost could've kept going cause the mid 00's wasn't terrible either really, but AFTER THAT was when everything took a TOTAL Left and music started to become feeble and lifeless and all about the CLUBS & PARTIES!!! Lord only knows how much I miss those days!!!
Let me tell you something, Deadmau5 is great at making music and so as Knife Party and Pendelum, and maybe even Diplo, the only reason why you think that because you're a non-edm fan, besides Pink Floyd is better than Incubus.
Ortum Lynx Still, Knife Party are Pendelun is awesome, but then again, your opinion sounds like it's from a non-EDM fan, so your opinion isn't really anything special.

To the Classicals such as Beethoven, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky!!!!! And of this generation Hanson, Duncan Sheik, Seether, Fuel, Evanescence, Hoizer, FKA Twiggs, Eric Benet, Carl Thomas, India Arie, Glenn Lewis, Erykah Badu, Van Hunt, D' angelo, Angus & Julie Stone, and of course Incubus!!! This song was my childhood
My cousin died a couple years ago in a car crash she loved this song and we played it at her funeral
That song must have hit hard. You have my condolences.

It's a beautiful song isn't it. I'm very sorry for your loss.
Geez I cannot believe this song is 21 yrs old. It’s crazy..I was in college when this came out. I love this song so much. Many memories
And I was just born, yet love it equally.
21 Years ago i was in 2nd grade in Russia.... i still cannot escape
god I'm getting old. I was 30 when it came out. in my head this is still "new music". get off my lawn.
Me too
I know... our time flew so fast....
I was 12 when this came out. Brings back a lot of memories... The most specific one is watching mtv and vh1 in the mornings before leaving for school. I was the last one to leave my house so I would get ready and when everyone else was gone I'd turn on the tv and watch videos until it was time to walk to school. I remember seeing this one quite a few times. Always liked it, it's a great song. Seems like that was just yesterday, hard to believe it's now 2016! Time sure does fly by fast.
+paintedbird I'm 11 And I'm now just starting to get into this band
+Jackson Garcia That's cool. Hope you enjoy the music and maybe this band will lead you to discover other great bands / artists from the past. Truly great music is timeless!
+paintedbird same here, always watched videos before school. Brings back awesome memories.
+paintedbird I would have been 11 when this came out and you are right that time flies! :/
+paintedbird pity mtv & vh1 has changed so much...I miss seeing actual music videos! Not to mention the music was so much better in 90's and 00's!!!!!
I didn’t understand the lyrics 15 years ago, but at 31 this has hit something in me! WHATEVER TOMORROW BRINGS, ILL BE THERE!
it's 2021 and we're all still visiting this song.
Keep forgetting it was normal to sing topless in music videos back then
I just found this song last january 😆
why is the year relevant? as long as the internet is around this song will be listened to, no need to bring up the year.
Yes we are. Why are you apologizing?

Indeed!
:'( feel the same
Nostalgia is not what it used to be
Only just realised how much Incubus have had an influence on my thinking especially Brandon's lyrics I was also listening to them at 17 😊
To be 6 again... XD
still listening to this as of august 2024. anyone else?
Always
This song got me through a hard time. I still tear up to it
It's 2022 let's leave these gem of lyrics on top
(Lyrics)
Sometimes
I feel the fear of
Uncertainty stinging clear
And I, can't help but ask myself how much I'll let the fear
Take the wheel and steer
It's driven me before and seems to have a vague
Haunting mass appeal
But lately I'm beginning to find that I
Should be the one behind the wheel
Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings
I'll be there, I'll be there
So, if I
Decide to waiver my
Chance to be one of
The hive
Will I choose water over wine
And hold my own and drive?
Aah ah ooo
It's driven me before and it seems to be the way
That everyone else gets around
But lately I'm beginning to find that when
I drive myself my light is found
Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings
I'll be there I'll be there
Would you choose water over wine?
Hold the wheel and drive
Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings
I'll be there I'll be there

Incubus is the best!!! But you need to listen to "Live Not Survive" by SLT right now! You're missing out !!!!!!
What I love about 90's alternative is the lyrics always have meaning behind them. Music now a days has no meaning, it is just a bunch of crap.put together, I hope more bands like this one come out and make good music.
It's still there, it's just harder to find now that it's not on the radio.

Lost my father over a year ago, Grew up listening to this song together. Thank you for the memories
I used to fall asleep to this song as a little kid, my dad burned this song and a bunch of his other favorites onto a CD because I had a hard time sleeping without white noise. Hearing this takes me back to simply being a little girl tucked into bed. Major nostalgia trip.

He knew the words to this song would make you strong! Smart Daddy!
This is a beautiful comment, thanks for sharing.
Props to dear soul, both you and your father...sweet how subtle the ties that bind us all. Sweet and lovely...beyond all regard. An enviable state...be well in all you'll do.
I did too. I was in my teens.
As soon as I heard *"whatever tomorrow brings"* it brought a smile to my face, realizing that this was a classic childhood song I haven't listened in almost forever. Such an underrated classic 🥲
Born in 82, class of 2000...🤘🤘 I love this most excellent comment!
@@ThatGuyGregHD I was born in '99, but I'm not too far off lol but yeah, I just wish I explored more songs from them that doesn't get much love as this one
I suffered from general anxiety disorder and major depression for years, and just came back to be a normal as a fully functional adult months ago after I consulted to a psychiatric doctor with the support of my family. At that time when my condition still uncontrolled, I felt fear over everything, I can't do anything with my life. I was a medical student that almost dropped-out because I couldn't concentrate with my study. I felt so shit about my life in general, couldn't achieve anything and keep felt worse and worse. To the point that I think there's nothing I can do to fix myself, I was suicidal and have a recurrence thought about suicide. Thank God everything is getting better after my family found out my problems and ask me to fight through it together.
One day when my days were getting better, I was driving and randomly tuned some radio station and found this song. Suddenly memories came back, this was my favourite song when I was in high school.
I listened to the lyrics and really can correlate almost everything on it. .
I can safely say that.. this is the soundtrack of my life.
I'm a fully functional human being right now, doing a medical clerkship before graduated as a doctor next year.
To all people who read this comment and has depression or anxiety disorder, be strong!
There will be always people that willing to help you. There will be some ways to make your life better. Be strong guys! Just don't give up and "take the wheel and steer" your life that got stolen by the disease! :D

I agree, music back then was great, unlike now. Now everybody just likes that oversimplified, overly repetitive autotuned trash that clogs the mainstream
There's still a lot of great music out there, you just have to look for it. Here's a few current bands with a lot of talent: Eidola, Night Verses, '68, and The Dear Hunter.

Inal M my favorite music comments lol. Thanks
Sounds like a song of 12 step sobriety program - gaining freedom and independence.
I was out with my kids the other day when my 5 year old asked me “what’s the song that goes like this?” And he starts singing this song and said he really liked it. At that moment I realized two things: one being that I instilled a sense of appreciation for good music and two being that both of my sons are going to need to pay close attention to the lyrics because of the really messy divorce I’m going through with their mother. I hope that they both, and I, are able to take whatever tomorrow brings with open arms and open eyes because their mother sure as hell doesn’t want to be there for any of us.
Keith C I hope you and your kids get through this man I went through my parents divorce and I’m 17 now it still messes with me but remember that no matter what they say or what happens through their childhood you still mean the world to them even if they deny it
I was on vodka and chicken juices when I said forget the day my mother left my family. Then I said, no, I just want to see the day without her. But then I remember the day. I said she ain't leaving, is she? But that day is gone. So a blue sky helps me remember when everything was okay.
A just keep going my friend keep going they are the reason y you need to show that you are the best be there no matter what I know you will be at the end you will look back and you will say I DID WHAT I AM SUPPOSE TO DO BE A FATHER you are becoming INDESTRUCTIBLE (Do not let you situation get you angry otherwise you can do mistakes)
No matter what happens, just be there for them. Rain or shine, they need a father. No matter what your ex does or says they’ll still love you, and you’ll still be their hero.
Stay strong brother. My mother split when I was young. At the time, I thought my father was Superman, and my mother was Wonder Woman. Let them know we're all just people living our lives as best as we can. Be sure they know it's not their fault. And most importantly: Keep being a real life hero. We don't need capes.
I'm slowly introducing this band to my 5 year old and she's singing along to this classic.
THAT'S AWESOME!
WOW you are a legend passing the torch of good music
teach her Jesus too
The best thing you can pass on to her is God (Father Son and holy spirit) he's the only true assurance in this life.
throw some 311 in too
