  • The windage on this FAL is now dialed in and I don't think it can get any better! I backed the barrel timing off about a degree. It's an accurate rifle now with OEM iron sights! Here's a link of the barrel being re-timed. • FN FAL SA58 Barrel Re-...

Thanks! My Grandfather was from Vienna, Austria! Not to many people over here in the USA with the last name Egger but my understanding is that it's more common in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

How tight was your barrel when you went to move it. Over clocked mine oops

I used a 3 ft cheater bar. The receiver with the fixture was in the vice and I moved the barrel with the wrench. I've seen it done the other way where the barrel is in the vice and the receiver is rotated using the fixture with the barrel stationary. It moved easier then I thought it would and I could control the barrel movement using very fine movements. I used copper ant-seize when I originally assembled the rifle so I'm sure that helped a lot. Mine wasn't bad at all thankfully!

@@peteregger7928 I guess the barrels don't come unscrewed as easy as I thought, mine is nice and snug using the breaker bar so I should be fine, thank you and happy holidays

I believe it's South African. NATO 7.62x51mm R1M1 about the same as M80. The outside labels fell off and disappeared from the sealed plastic 200 round battle packs. The individual cardboard 20 round boxes do not have much info on them other than what I provided here. Also assuming it is 147 Grain. Unlikely it is still available anywhere. My lot number is 036 B04/81. Bought this stuff in 2004 so it was old even back then. It's Berdan primed so not easy to reload either. It's still good stuff after all these years!
