  • ⭐️MY JOURNEY TO WAIST LENGTH 4B/4C NATURAL HAIR WITH PICTURES! ⭐️
    I remember watching natural hair journey videos years ago when I was learning how to take care of my hair. I always wanted to make a video like this and finally took the time to look through old pictures and do it. I hope you find this video entertaining and inspiring, as I show my journey to waist length natural hair. With some care and patience, I went from shoulder length to waist length. If I can grow waist length natural hair then you can too! Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe :)

    • @kiyokumabear
      @kiyokumabear 3 роки тому +13

      Don't have to, but it can help if you have the confidence to rock it, (I sure as shit didn't in 7th grade).
      Buzzed my hair down and it grew back in about a year. Been 2 years now and it's armpit length, (I don't straighten my hair), but I'm exploring different protective styles and options.
      Tbh depending on your hair, you MIGHT need to cut it, (I did because it barely touched my shoulders and wouldn't get longer due to chemical damage when I was a teenager,) but you don't necessarily have to go bald. I wanted all the "bad hair" off my head, so I cut it and it regrew nice and healthy!
      Sometimes starting over and relearning how to do things is good. Don't be scared to admit you're wrong and turn back in life, as it can benefit you in the end! 😊

    I watched your video with my very young daughters. We live in Italy and are on lockdown. Somehow your vide popped up in my daughter's feed as I was cornrowing her very thick and long 3c hair. At the end of your video my daughter who is only 6yrs old, asked me in a sad tone in Italian, "Mama why did she do that to her hair, did she think her real hair was ugly?" Having to try to explain it to her without making her feel that her hair was "too difficult" or "too much work" was heartbreaking. I'm so glad we live in Italy, I am an American expat but my husband is Italian. Here black women wear their hair mostly natural, not feeling our schedules or our workplaces can't accommodate our twists, Bantu knots, braids and other protective styles that are seen as "unprofessional" in the US. It seems America makes our people believe that straight hair is "easy" and "professional hair." The Euro beauty standard is more at work in the US than here in Rome, where our glorious voluminous hair is appreciated for its obvious beauty. This video in the end made me and my 3 little girls very sad. Your hair was beautiful.♥️

      I’m sorry to hear that. Everyone’s hair is different. For me, I wanted to stop spending 4-5 hours washing & detangling my waist length hair plus another 1-2 hours to twist it all up and another 24 hours to wait for the twists to dry so I can take them down. One time, I was standing in the shower so long that I fainted. I couldnt just wash my hair, let it air dry & go because it would get really tangled & I would get a ton of single strand knots. Now since I’m training to be a doctor, I no longer want to spend a whole day doing my hair, nor do I have the time to. With the curly perm I can wash my hair & style it in an hour or less, which is crazy. For me, it didn’t have anything to do with professionalism, beauty standards, etc. I loved my hair the way it was, which is why I never did anything too crazy to it until recently. I can’t speak for everyone but I got this for better time management and that’s all. It wasnt that my hair was “a lot of work” or “hard to do”. It was more so that my hair took a lot of time because I was always very gentle with it when I was natural and never rushed doing it. Also can’t assume what worked for someone with 3c hair (or even someone with similar 4b or 4c hair) is gonna work for my hair. There’s more to hair than just the curl pattern (density, porosity, thickness, length). My natural hair may take hours to do but someone else’s may not take as long. So no one will really know my experience except me. I hope that makes sense!

      Same thing happened to me in Spain. I've been encouraged to wear my hair natural since I was a teen but I decided to do it 3 years ago. People love. The hairstyles and everything. They specially like it when I detangle my hair and wear an Afro. People ask for pictures an everything. They embrace our features way more than in the Americas

    • @PrincessYonna1
      @PrincessYonna1 3 роки тому +2

      @Tiffany Moore I think it’s because bw wear their hair texture more . Whether it’s there’s , or clip ins /wig whereas in the USA our protective styles are braids or straight clip ins and wigs . I think we should embrace it more and not worry about what others say

    It wasn’t until I started doing my son’s type 4 hair that I realized how unique/high maintenance it is. I have 3c hair that is a lot of work so I can understand why someone would want a ginaperm if it makes the work just a little bit easier.

    I swear it’s a struggle with my hair.
    I can’t get it to be moisturize
    I can’t set detangle it without knots being pull out
    It’s always breaking
    It’s honestly a struggle dealing with it to be honest. I’m doing one thing next minute you know someone tells me that I’m doing it wrong

    • @eliselol85
      @eliselol85 3 роки тому +3

      Trim ends, get a moisture routine for your porosity as well and only detangle when moisturised. If you are low po stay away from protein if you are high po then protein is your bff. Then also protective style. Be gentle

    • @melteddarkchocolate000
      @melteddarkchocolate000 3 роки тому

      @@idk.2521 yeah it’s the same alike yours and for the knots I realize that the knot on my hair form by just being dried. Once I add water or cream it disappear. My hair is completely fine for now my only big issues is just the split ends. For how I moisturize my hair, Whenever I do moisturize I cover it with a paper bag to keep the heat and moisture in to soften my hair. It works in softening my hair and the soft texture last for like 2-3 days :D) my hairs alright but growth is slow

      @@eliselol85 I need to try braiding my hair again but I don’t look good in wigs 🗿I have my afro out every single day and Honestly My hair grows regardless with or without being braid and I believe it’s the grease and oil that’s making it stand strong.

      Hii! Thanks for the questions, sorry I forgot to address them in the video. Once I learned how to take care of my hair from girls on youtube I only straightened it 1-2 times a year every Fall/Winter! I redid twistouts maybe 1-2 times per week depending how long the style lasted. I did twists after washing my hair & took them out the next day as soon as they were dry (my hair takes a while to dry so it took a while)
