I don't know how you ladies do it!! You go through so much to care for your hair. Plz don't perm or heat straighten it. Your natural curls are so beautiful and unique. I know we all want what we cant have. That's human nature. However, even with curl perms for straight, non ethnic hair types, they do not produce the type of curls you have naturally. They are so versatile and beautiful!! Embrace it ladies!! I love it so much! Be your own unique stunning selves!

It's a huge step when you decide to cut your hair, especially when it's heat damaged. You look different, feel different and you have a whole new hair texture. It's probably overwhelming because being natural is a commitment and it's new to her. Either way, she looks beautiful and when it grows out even more, she'll be glad she cut it.

I permed my hair in middle school Bc I was embarrassed of my hair texture because I would go to the Dominican salon and they would judge me and ask me why my hair was so kinky and it hurt so bad when they did my hair. And the kids in my class would judge me and ask y my hair was nappy. I was ashamed of my black hair. Now I gotten into highschool and I’m embracing myself I’m more confident with my skin tone and my hair texture

My mom used to take me to the Dominican hair salons. They used to talk shit about my hair when their hair was literally dry and looked like troll hair. They thought I didn't understand Spanish. When my mom left they would purposely pull my hair. 🙄 I'm half black and half Puerto Rican and I've come to realize my curls were actually beautiful as fuck. They were just being mean. Now I'm engaged to a Dominican 😅 it's all water under the bridge now.

What a beautiful head of hair on a beautiful girl!!! This is honestly THE BEST Big Chop I’ve ever watched!!! I love how her friend cut above the demarcation line, so that there were no stringy ends left. Many of the Big Chip videos I’ve watched, ppl often leave relaxed ends and say they’ll cut them at a later time. This video was very satisfying, everyone in it contributed to it’s positive vibe! The young lady cutting her hair did a great job, the friend in the background was very encouraging as she edified her beauty and she herself had a great attitude about it! Awesome job ladies! 🙌🏾

Second as a 53 year old woman who has been bald twice in my life, but has had a perm in my hair for the last 20 years...I am big chopping again 'cause of the LOVE you have of being real and loving your realness. I love my realness too. My hair is long but not as long as yours and I have been slowly cutting, the first time I chopped 5 inches from the straight ends and now I have those same scraggly straightened ends that have to go and I am letting go of them this weekend. Just beautiful..I wear my natural hair in protective styles alot. I work out; so weaves are much easier to deal with when your rushing to get in that workout before heading to work...after seeing this and others videos like it I'm thinking hell why not and with color;)

All these big chop videos motivated me to cut my hair that was just before shoulder length and heat damaged ,now when i tell you that is probably the best decision ive made i really mean it😅😅it's grown back way past shoulder length in its thick natural form and guess what it's only been 6 months. From my pinkie finger length to that I swear👌
Protective style( I usually braid have my hair open for 3-4 days and braid again)
Moisture (I can not stress how important this is even when braided )
No heat or chemicals
When hairs out of braids deep condition or apply treatment
Finger detangle and don't comb too much
Fav product
I use alot of diffrent things but
Cantu leave in conditioner
And black Jamaican oil is the bomb if you cant afford it just make sure you use something to moisturize your hair especially oils (emphasis on moisture yol )
I swear you'll thank me later😊

I can't express how important this video is! I am a white girl and it astonishes me when black girls feel like they have to straighten and damage their hair, you girls have some hair magic that has to be protected and praised at all costs! People don't understand that sometimes and I'm noy saying this as kind of a white saviour action that's just the truth.♥️ One of my close friends is black and constantly straightened her hair and it was extremely damaged, I encouraged her to go natural and make the big chop. She's the happiest she's ever been and looks so beautiful. Keep being awesome 🥰

Natural hair grows really fast
Kay I It’s about normal length. Half inch per month is 5 inches for 10 months. That’s about what it looks like. It will look a lot shorter when she wets it and let’s it dry.

She could do a puff 💘 with that hair all you need is string and a gel apply gel to the front of the hair take a string wrap it around the hair and keep pulling it up until it forms into a puff
