    *We know the Limited Palisade would have been better to compare, but one was not available at our dealer! This SEL has nearly all the options of the Limited and is aligned with the Telluride SX (non Prestige package). Thanks for understanding, and we hope you enjoyed the video!

      Once again, great job guys. Just a couple of things to note. The Hyundai Palisade does not have blind spot monitoring in the lowest, SE trim. You have to step up to the SEL trim for that. Also where the Kia Telluride LX has the Sofino leatherette trim in the base model, the Hyundai has cloth.
      Once again a fantastic job on the comparison. My wife likes the styling of the Kia but we will reserve final judgement until we can drive them back to back. I have yet to see a Palisade and the Kia dealers in my area cannot keep a Telluride SX for even 48 hours without it selling.

      dalex7777 I had never heard of the telluride before. I consider myself a bit of a Chevy person. I went to the Kia dealership on a whim and just happened to slip into the only telluride on the lot. It was ordered for a young lady and was mistakenly ordered with AWD. Her loss was my gain, as I gladly welcomed the AWD feature. My salesperson asked if I wanted to see inside and I was floored with interior. After a 15 minute test drive, I was hooked. As I was pulling back up, another salesperson was trying to show it to another customer. I told him that he could show it but not to add any additional miles to my car. I bought it right then and there. Traded in my Chevy Traverse LTZ model and have been a very happy camper. I just hope my wife lets me driver her new Telluride.

    We had to wait 8 months for our 2020 Telluride that we had to order because no one had any. Yes we could have went down the road and bought a Palisade, but someone I overheard said it best when comparing these two, “ The Palisade is nice, but it looks like every other SUV out there, but the Telluride is very distinctive and handsome “ And I would have to agree.

      Any brand can completely botch a project. The G70 is a failure imo. They have a ton of new and affordable brands to beat and for a brand that likely hasn’t generated a profit yet, at least from what people can see on the roads, their survival depends on their SUV. If they don’t come ready to play ball, they’re _fucked_

    I bought my new 2020 Kia Telluride on July 5th. I compared several SUV's that would be the best compatible SUV for my children and myself after being involved in a MVA. One thing that was never mentioned was the safety features of both vehicles. I can say for 1 that the safety features when in a crash of any sort is what really got be to make the deal. The cruise control setting offers a safe distance behind the vehicle in front of you no matter what your speed setting is at. It goes the same speed as the vehicle in front of you. I had it set going through a little town and didn't even have to touch the gas or break as the car in front of me basically dictated how fast we went. Also, when the vehicle slowed down to make a turn the Telluride also allowed for the vehicle to make a clean turn without being so close and resumed my setting speed as if I never needed to touch it. The lane assist also helps you stay in your lane in case you get distracted. This ride is very smooth and quiet! It has a PA system that you can talk to passengers in the back over the speakers without having to shout. Another feature is the quiet feature. You can adjust the setting to where the sound and phone calls come to the front speakers and leave the back silent. Very useful with sleeping children! I can also say that the overall look of the Telluride "Interior and Exterior" is superior in my opinion. Also, the sound system of the Telluride is out of this world and has to be one of the best stock sound systems I have ever heard with the Advanced sound features which includes BASS boost. The night rides have to be one of the best because the interior offers the Ambient lighting and you can pick and choose what color you prefer on the door arm rests as well as the glove compartment. You have various brightness options as well. For the most part you can see really well at night with the LED lighting and with the automatic dim feature is remarkable. As for the MPG's; Depending on which drive mode setting your on I have gotten anywhere between 20/30 mpg's. To conclude, I love to drive this thing everyday as it is a very comfortable vehicle and stylish in all aspects. The Telluride also offers the moon roof in the back "which does not open" buuuuuut.. I couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase. One last thing to add.......I didn't even get a chance to drive it before I bought it to test it out because of the safety features alone however, when I got in it to drive it off the lot I KNEW MY FUTURE INVESTMENT WAS IN THIS VEHICLE. I highly recommend this crossover SUV as one of the best ever made.

      Sounds like a well-written sales pitch. Haha. I would like to say, as someone who is still undecided between these 2 models, that the Palisades Limited has all the same features you mentioned. PA system, smart cruise control, lane departure, high end sound system, etc. I think both cars are pretty safe. And if safety is a priority, I would add Subaru Ascent as a solid option as well.

      Roman M with the exception that the Subaru ascent is only offered with a 2.4L 4 cylinder which is an automatic no from me. It may have a turbo but definitely not enough power for such a large suv in my opinion.

      Ryan the Traverse and Acadia are different sized vehicles. The Palisade and Telluride are the same size, share engineering and power trains but are made in different factories - the Palisade in South Korea and the Telluride in Georgia. Having been in both - the design and materials qualities shame the domestics and Japanese brands - not to mention Hyundai, KIA and Genesis rank higher in quality than the domestics and even Honda. These are home run vehicles. I just ordered a telluride SX. After driving the competition of other $50K competitors - nothing else comes close to what H/K are offering.

    - fog lights (none on Palisade)
    - folding mirrors

      Personally, I agree. But it's worth keeping in mind that the Telluride has been designed for and built in the US. The Palisade, on the other hand, is meant to be a vehicle for the international market, especially the potentially huge Asian market where the Telluride is not even offered. In those markets the "rugged" vibe of the Telluride is arguably less appealing than the "near luxury" vibe of the Palisade. The emerging middle class in Asia doesn't find "rugged" nearly as attractive as North Americans. Those folks have endured a long history of "rugged;" they're more attracted to vehicles that demonstrate their new found middle class status.

    I finally got to drive both models in top tier mode (Limited and SX) after a month of trying. Alas, FWD only. Both have pros and cons but really 95% the same. In my case, it comes down to personal preferences of some details -- digital or analog instrument cluster, gear lever or buttons, etc. Hyundai offers more standard because it has to come from Korea already made. The Kia is made in Georgia so they offer more as options. To get a far comparison, you can't ignore such things as the Prestige package. Building both on their websites, AWD, fully kitted out, the Kia is $190 more. Personally, I would be happy with either. If you are considering one of these, try to drive both but do pay close attention to what options are in the model you test. If you can find a model to test.

    I got the limited telluride with prestige and I love it. It's built for tough roads and light off road ING whereas palisade is for city only experience! That's the mail difference. Everyone is fixated on the third row power recliner for extra luggage space but it's really slow and you cannot stop the inclination manually at 45 degrees in palisade.

      Actually, I suspect there's no significant difference in the off-road/rough road ability of the two vehicles. Despite being identical underneath , I it's clear both brands are targeting for different buyer's for both vehicles.
    American's designed the telluride (which explains the masculinity compared to the Palisade) so it's obviously going to be the one that appeals more to the Us market.
    Hyundai went their own roots and took what they've have (or lack) in the Genesis line and basically threw in the Palisade.
    I'd wait a bit to look at either right now , since their new and demand is high , expect dealer mark ups , heard some Kia dealer's are doing over MSRP for top trim tellurides. Nonetheless , both great car's for the money. 😁👍

    • @stephenhendricks103
      @stephenhendricks103 5 років тому +2

      KIA and US KIA dealers made a major error in underestimating the demand for the top trim SX Telluride when the vehicle was put into production. The result is price gouging by some dealers and long waiting lists for dealers prepared to offer the SX Telluride at MSRP. Obviously, US consumers were somewhat ahead of dealers in recognizing that KIA is no longer simply a "budget" brand.

    I can't believe the boys awarded .5 points to the Palisades slowest folding 3rd row in the auto industry🤔🤔 The Tellurides 3rd row could've been manually lowered and raised back up twice during the Palisades agonizingly slow process.

  • @stephenhendricks103

    Excellent video, guys. I would quarrel with a couple of points, however. You didn't award points to either vehicle in terms of cargo space behind the third row. I'd argue that the 21 cubic feet of the Telluride compared to the 18 cubic feet of Palisade deserved a half point advantage on your rating scale. It's not a huge difference, of course, but the Telluride's space is exceeded only by the humungous Chevy Traverse (23 cf) while the Palisade's space is essentially equal to the Subaru Ascent and Ford Explorer and barely more than several other rivals. The difference can mean a lot when a three row SUV is packed with passengers and gear.
    More important, though, is the 2 points you awarded the Palisade for its alleged price advantage. There are many different ways to compare MSRP's of two vehicles. I find the most useful comparisons result from the top trim, fully loaded versions of each vehicle. That approach reduces or eliminates the impact of features available/not available at various other trim/option levels and take into account the entire set of features each vehicle has to offer.
    Using the "build and price" tools for each vehicle in their respective AWD, top trim, fully optioned versions, the Telluride (SX) has an MSRP of $47,330 vs the Palisades (Limited) at $47,445, negligible difference of $115 in favor of the KIA. Had the 2 points given to the Hyundai not been included, the KIA would have "won" the overall comparison on your rating scale by a significant margin.
    Of course, the entire video is an entertaining and detailed perspective about two very impressive vehicles rather than a than a definitive comparison. MSRP comparisons don't take into account "real world" prices that result from serious negotiations with a dealer. The huge demand for the Telluride may mean its availability is more restricted than the Palisade. And had the Palisade's Limited trim been compared to the Telluride's SX trim, the appeal of the Hyundai's interior might have been greater. All in all, either vehicle is a very strong contender in the midsize three row mainstream crossover market.

    I'm surprised that several other posters noticed the abysmally slow power folding rear seats in the Palisade. It's a feature that Hyundai apparently believes spells "luxury" but in addition to its pokey performance, the motors and wiring required means a sacrifice of about 16% in the cargo space behind the third row. And then there's the relative reliability of the human arm vs an electric motor.

    Bought the limited palisade over the Telluride for a few reasons. Palisade has a digital dash, Kia doesn’t and its connected to the entertainment system vie one piece, looks seamless. Palisade has 3 row powered seats, Kia didn’t. The limited edition comes with Napa leather, rear seats with A/C and heat and HUDS up display, you have to get the prestige package on the telluride to get all that where as it’s standard in the Hyundai. Last was Hyundai was offering 1.9% financing where as Kia didn’t have that for the Telluride. Being fair I think the Telluride looks nicer on the outside but for the cost the Hyundai was my choice.

    Pokemon Telluride vs Pokemon Palisade version. Just when I think I have a winner, these two Korean companies trade blow for blow. Kia and Hyundai sure know how to make good value cars. I prefer the Kia Telluride front, and the Hyundai Palisade Rear and side profile designs. If I needed more room, I would choose the Hyundai as it has good storage for take out meals, and electric third row seats that even toddlers and old people can use. Manual paddle shifters for gear controls are nice too. But the Kia’s front navigation design and non-button shifter feels more well known and comfortable. And the 360 rear reverse camera is very cool.

It's too wide, but other than that it's ok. Rear design is nice, LED taillights look very stylish and modern.The Interior of Telluride I really like, has a very premium look, which to me sets it apart from the Palisade.So for my money I'd buy the Telluride. I wanted a Kia Telluride all wheel drive. They are super hard to find. One dealer bragged than he was charging 8K over MSRP. I almost bought it from a dealer who wanted to charge me only 3K over MSRP. Then I bought a Hyundai Palisade in Tracy and got WAY more options (fully loaded) at 500.00 UNDER MSRP. It is all wheel drive as well. It’s almost exactly the same, but a much better color. Got it all and saved a lot. My dealer probably could have easily sold my Palisade for thousands over MSRP as it was the only AWD within 100 miles of the Bay Area, but he chose to give me a great deal instead. I couldn’t find a KIA dealer who didn’t want more than MSRP on the AWD version. I will never buy a Kia.

It's more luxurious especially on the inside vs a more off roadish type of feel with telluride. I will say that the SX Telluride look with the black wheels and trim is the best looking one out of all their trims. Both great vehicles with exceptional values. These guys know how to build cars and Kia and Hyundai have come a LONG way from what they used to be. Can't go wrong with either. both have their pluses when comparing. I like the front view, rear view and interior of the Telluride better, but prefer the side view (back 1/3) of the Palisade. The faux wood in the Telluride is better looking than the black plastic/faux carbon fiber in the Palisade. Even though it costs you a bit of additional storage....the traditional shifter in the Telluride is very well done. Looks very high end and more interesting to the eye than the touch button transmission selection of the Palisade. I'm not crazy about black wheels though and prefer the wheels of the Palisade (especially the ones on the Limited). Telluride also has more room behind the 3rd seat which is a big plus in my book. With 3 kids...every square foot matters on those road trips. Power folding 3rd seats is a pretty useless feature in my opinion. Takes too long and just more opportunity for failures....especially considering just how easy they fold down in the Telluride. Both are very sharp, but the Telluride (in the top trim level) is just the better package, imo.

  • @sphong0610
    @sphong0610 4 роки тому

    The quirks and features are insane.. The main point of difference in any trim level would be the electronic shifter in the Palisade vs. normal automatic stick in the Telluride, the auto height adjustment on the Palisade vs. the Towing package on the Telluride and for those that need it the electronic 3rd row maneuverability in the Palisade vs the manual 3rd row fold/unfold in the Telluride. Other than that it's pretty much the design and options/price range. In the mid trim levels the Telluride has more electronics such as the 360 camera and 10" LCD but the Palisade has heated rear seats standard.
