      It’s astonishing! I used to hate Hyundai and considered them to be subpar, bellow every other East Asian manufacturer. Three years ago I would never have even considered getting one. But they’ve completely redesigned all of their models, adding great features that are not so commonly found in other vehicles of the same caliber and I am absolutely ready to take back any prejudices that I had about Hyundai. They’ve done a stellar job remaking themselves and I would actually consider getting one the next time I’m looking for a car.

    • @stuff4115
      @stuff4115 3 роки тому +8

      I mean they are hiring designers that designed some good European cars, one of them is Sangyup lee (might have spelled that wrong). He designed the 5th gen Chevy Camaro, and the Bentley bentayga. He designed the genesis gv80 and that’s why the bentayga and gv80 look similar.

    The two genius features (in my opinion) are:
    1) the blind spot cameras that come on when you use the turn signals - because they will get folks to USE THEIR TURN SIGNALS,
    2) the low mounted headlights, so they don't blind the drivers in front at night, like trucks and suv's do now because their headlights are mounted at the top, making them shine directly into the cabin of sedans.
    Great job, Hyundai!

    • @checkoutmyyoutubepage
      @checkoutmyyoutubepage 2 роки тому +1

      That turn signal feature is amazing because it solves two problems, an annoying blind spot and it makes the drivers safer at driving.

    • @caglioso
      @caglioso 5 років тому +215

      Milan Sremcevic lol very true, and as an American who lives in a big city with street parking only I think a vehicle like this is absolutely gigantic. I couldn’t park something like this in my neighborhood, I’d have to move to the burbs just to have a place to stash it!

    • @merrelljohnson
      @merrelljohnson 5 років тому +114

      It really isn't as big as it looks on Camera. It's about the same size as a Honda Pilot, or Explorer.

    • @caglioso
      @caglioso 5 років тому +140

      Merrell Johnson well to me at least, those vehicles are also gigantic. Of course I live in a dense area with small streets and no driveway, so it’s all relative.

    • @Vgp-rp4iu
      @Vgp-rp4iu 5 років тому +32

      Nah this thing isn't that big. Easy enough to park in small downtown parking. We have a suburban also and that gets parked in street parking downtown daily. It can be done and isn't too bad.

    • @caglioso
      @caglioso 5 років тому +9

      Juan Carlos Hermosillo I agree, and my point was that in America there’s also lots of dense city areas (like where I am) that make it very difficult to accommodate a vehicle of that size. America has lots of open spaces and suburban housing for sure, but plenty of us live in the dense, urban areas as well.

  • @TDPEquinox

    That dial isn't bad design, it's brilliant. It allows you to quickly adjust it without looking down, you can switch it all the way to one side and then turn it one by one all by memory.

      My car doesn't have this dial-lock feature and I know how annoying it is when I'm not looking at it & I always miss my selection.
      This lock allows one to not look at the dial and still make the desired selection.

    • @zlamanit
      @zlamanit 5 років тому +2

      I think that the bad design remark was about the dial not stopping when it's in the first or in the last position. As for the ability to select the drive mode without looking - it's nice, but you have the current mode shown on the screen so it's not necessary.

    • @MMM18092
      @MMM18092 5 років тому

      But it's not a dial you would use a lot during driving. You use it when you start driving and probably so rarely that you wouldn't learn the settings by heart.

      My wife always gets the new car and she got one of these, fully loaded. The thing is beautiful. She ended up getting the white one (basically could get nothing more on it) with white interior. We have 3 kids and I was wondering what she was thinking, however, the interior has been very easy to take care of.
      I got the hand me down 2014 highlander (also a great vehicle).
      Yeah, this thing is (no other way to describe) F'n nice. Very good quality and comfortable. We paid about $48k for ours in WI.
      Every time I get into it I am still surprised that it's a Hyundai. (I was previously driving a 2005 Santa Fe that just wouldn't die - again the hand me down).
      After driving American for years, between Toyota and Hyundai, you can't go wrong. Very well built vehicles.

My car has been blowing headlights- having electrical issues (my auto windows go back down when you roll them up, my rear windshield wipers go off whenever they want, my break light seems to go on and off at random. I have reached out because as a company they should only want the best products out there. I was told that “because my car is over 3 years old. There is nothing they can do for me. To bring it to a dealer and “see what I can get” for it. I owe more than it’s worth because one thing they don’t tell you when you buy a Hyundai is they depreciate way faster than you can make payments to survive. DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI.

    We just made a 5 hour drive to get our 2020 Hyundai Palisade Limited all-wheel-drive just as we would have ordered it, if it were possible. During my research over the past month or so, I have seen that the Limited Edition is in high demand. All wheel drive even more so. I have checked dealers from South Carolina all the way to Pennsylvania and found that they sell these vehicles, in the Limited trim, just as fast as they arrive on the lot. We were very fortunate to be able to snag one with all of our specifications. We just purchased the 2020 limited in All wheel Drive with graphite exterior and beige interior. Loaded with every option and then some dealer add-ons. If we would have missed this opportunity we were looking at up to a three month or more wait for the exact vehicle we wanted. In the time that we have owned ours, it has been as impressive as my 2018 Mercedes-Benz, which we purchased new!
    We were within hours of buying a brand new Audi Q7 Quattro, then we took a pause and looked at the Hyundai and for the money we are pleased with our purchase.

    2 months of ownership and 3,000 miles we love ours. Here's what has surprised us so far:
    1) Regularly gets over 30mpg hwy steady driving.
    2) Puddle lights from side view mirrors and backlit door handles - great at night.
    3) 64 custom color interior light colors
    4) 12 speaker 640 watt stereo booms
    5) Heated/cooled 2nd row
    6) When car is off, hold windshield washer and wipers will freeze straight up. Great for washing.
    7) Telluride just aced it's iihs crash test. Bodes well for Palisade.
    8) Simply stand at the back when locked, 3X car beeps and the rear tail gate opens. No foot-wagging.
    9) Self-driving. Not Tesla-like, but damned impressive.

      I wouldnt. While it is a nice vehicle in comfort and appearance, Hyundai engines are shit right now, and their paint is terrible. The dealerships are scrambling to fix rampant oil starvation problems in all of their models under warranty, and paint is pealing on thousands of Hyundais that are less than 4 years old. Its an epidemic. Of course, Hyundai wont tell you this until you go talk to an angry service tech. They sell you polished turds, and the shine wears off the minute the warranty expires and you have a seized up engine at 50k miles.

I frequently change it from comfort to sport especially when I need that quick throttle response when turning into a fast road from a dead stop, then when I'm at highway speeds, I switch it back to comfort. And when I'm in the city in bumper to bumper traffic I place it in eco mode and sometimes used the "auto hold" button for automatic braking so I don't have to hold the brakes down often and I also use the adaptive cruise control to let the Palisade do all the stop and go work.

      One does wonder, though, how much these features affect people's driving: why concentrate on driving well yourself when the car does it for you. Example: with rear cameras, how many people actually check their surroundings - e.g. for pedestrians? Or do they just look at the screen in order to protect their car?
