Oh Oma, my Grandmother use to make this for us kids.. I have watched and very much enjoyed your other recipes, but this one hits home. Yes, yes it was about 1960 when my Grams started making this. Thank you so much. My brother is in for the birthday surprise of his life this year. Bless you
I am binge watching your Cooking with Oma videos. My mother passed almost 4 years ago and I was the only person that wanted her recipes and kitchen equipment. When i get in the kitchen and make food that I grew up with, it gives me such a great sense of comfort and security. I love these videos and I just want to give your mom and you a hug for providing me with a great evening of enjoyment. What you are doing is a special thing. Now...when do we get to see you taste this great looking dessert? Looks yummy.
littlegiles I wish so much I could have done this with my Grandma! Have u watched I think it's called Buonapettiti or something similar? A precious Italian Nona who is a marvelous baker and cook.

I just love u and our grandparents are so precious . Thank u for sharing your Mother with me , i am close to my Mother too !!!God Bless u
Dear Olma, I was so happy to find this recipe! My mother was part Hungarian ,and Slavic, and could cook anything. This recipe is one she made for us a lot, especially in the summer. The only thing she did differently was to chill the milk in a metal bowl till it formed milk crystals. We always called it Fluff. I lost my mom in 2000 and think of her every day. Most of her recipe's were from memory.and were not written down.Thank you so much for helping me to share this with my family. It will go in the family cook book for many generations to come. May god bless you for sharing your gift and sweet spirit.
i love seeing the corning mixing bowls,my mothers set got all sratched up but my grandmama's are in perfect condition, just like yours, but both broke the green one

wow!!!!! what a different spin on jello cake. Thank you so very much for sharing your recipe with so many of us here. Words can not describe how much I enjoy watching you share your talents with us. you are so very special and such a living treasure for many of us who do not have mothers or grandmothers or strong loving female matriarchs in our family at this time. You remind me of my grandmother so much. I pray you continued joy and happiness, health and prosperity for you and your loved ones always, P.S. if you haven't yet., I would love a good recipe for sauerkraut or a yummy potato salad to take to pot lucks. Thank you.
Love your jello cake recipe, I can't wait to try it! I love canned milk in my coffee too! Canned milk in stove top perked coffee is the best, it reminds me of my Dad. He would have loved your videos, he would want to make every recipe.

Oma is the evaporated milk you used sweetened condensed or just the normal one? Love your show! I know your not doing it anymore but I watch reruns !
Im wondering if you only put the 1 cup of hot water? I didnt see a 2nd cup being added. I just want to be sure i want to make this it looks yummy!

:)
Bryant Fernquist I am pretty sure that lemon jello doesn't taste like key lime.
Gonna try it
My mother made this when I was a child....she called it Lemon Fluff.....that was back in the 50's.....
Can I make a suggestion? If you chill the evaporated milk in the freezer for 1 hour before you whip it, it will whip up thick and fluffy very fast.
I'm making this with the sugar free Jello. Hope it works! I missed the Oma-n-Son taste test and hearing Oma declare it was YUMMY :-). I love Oma!
Looks yummy
7:38 loved her laugh
