Absolutely love it. I used to go to silverlakes loads in the early 2000's. I remember me and my friend trying to buy a cut off rear end of a Ferrari 355 so we could make an elaborate BBQ but it was too expensive for us in our early 20's. I loved the pick and pull area. We would always go down there after heavy rain or frost to see what people had crashed and pick it apart.
I've just picked up a 2003 Citroen C3 HDI 16V (92bhp version) for £350 that wasn't long for this world. Needs a few bits and bobs for a new mot (rear brake pads/discs, and a coil spring), but it's a great little car. To think for less than £60 in parts and it'll be road legal again, but it was days from being scrapped is crazy. Plus it has air con, does 65mpg, and is £35 a year road tax!
It's absolutely mad how those structures can hold those cars like a shelf built for model cars. It's great how the Polo saloon, LS400 and Colt were saved. Just shows that there are people who want them on the road still. The 106 is a gem, give it a full detailing and it'll be a proper survivor. I also noticed a 4-door Mk2 Golf that looked to be in great condition. There are a lot of Mk2 Golfs puttering around in my area. Keep it stock, don't change anything on it!

Love it. My first car was an L reg 106 XND Graduate which I wrote off when I was 18. That was a mighty 1.4 non-turbo diesel. This video brings back a lot of memories.
Replaced the 106 with a mk1 clio 1.2. That felt like a rocket in comparison to the non-turbo diesel!
As a 106 owner myself, this video is just special, those cars are just amazing, handle very nicely and they are a lot fun to drive, even if they are as underpowered as my 106 1.0i xD
Special little cars, im glad you guys got one and saved it :)
I love the little 106 almost as much as Edwin as an addition to the team 😊
I like how you’re keeping it stock (except for when you need replacement parts of course). It’s really true to its heritage.
This is amazing I love seeing cheap cars get saved. Excellent video!
I saved a 1996 Volvo 850 TDI Estate from rotting away, its my daily now and boy oh boy i cannot tell you how happy i am to see this video. The one sole thing that kept me from going insane with this volvo was my soul beeing at peace knowing full well its got a loving home :)
Such a cool little find. Well done lads
That's such a good find! Those diesels are slow but mint little emgines , so glad you're appreciating the baguettes 👌
I;d love to see them go back and save that Morris Minor too since this was such an easy win.
Parts for Moggies are readily available. The MX5 mod sounds intriguing!
ive only just noticed the 911 that edwin liked is now the one that he is fixing on his own channel lol
That’s bloody brilliant, what a great find, and probably one of the rarest cars on the U.K. roads …..👍👌🇮🇲
This video has cheered me up so much. I’m now in love with that little green 106 😂
Little did Edwin know he would be rebuilding that 996
It's absolutely mad how those structures can hold those cars like a shelf built for model cars.
It’s a shame we never saw the saxo clio 106 challenge
Imagine a series like this... Once a quater the gang buys a car due to be scraped and spend a month or two throwing used parts at it until it works. Dream channel right there!
Some gems can be found here fr.
Great episode, we need more of this! It's unbelievable how many good cars are scrapped for no reason! Now you have to go back and save that Merc W124 and the Rolls!
With the collection of old rare cars your getting currently you definitely have some great contenders for the Festival Of The Unexceptional.
There was a nice looking golf at 2:40 but good choice with the 106!
I love the 1st gen colt! not many around anymore...
2:46
The GTO IS EVEN MORE TDC FORESHADOWING
This channel is really in a new golden age without Alex.
Absolutely love the content and the addition of Edwin in front of the camera!
I loved this video! Thanks guys, it made me happy. It reminds me of a couple of years ago when I bought an old diesel corsa for £400, gave it a bit of love and it was brilliant
This is brilliant content fir the channel, more of sake please great job everyone 👍👍👍
I love Ethan getting more and more excited about cars.
Very specific ones, but still
Also lovely find, love the interior, especially the matched seatbelts
Awesome little car! Look at those green seat belts👍
Well done boys ! Freakishly I did virtually the same thing 6 months ago to an L reg 1.4i Astra Estate, bought from the car auction site I work at. Would have gone to the scrap-man if I hadnt snapped it up for £553. You win, my tyres were only 13 years old. One owner since 96, under 2000 miles in last 12 years. Bought primarily to keep the mileage down on my previous daily, a 5litre V10 RS6. Apart from both being estates and both in nice colours they have nothing in common. 500 bhp difference. Love them equally.
This looks like a really cool car, I'd love a sequel
What a find!! And that is one heck of scrap yard! The little Pug, just needs some deep cleaning and polishing, and maybe painting the bumpers?
The 911 wouldve been class.
What was that next to the 911 in the aerial view? Looked like a 959!
Just looked again it’s not a 959, it’s a 968. I figured they would t have overlooked a 959 😂
Probably my favourite video you gents have released. What a gem of a car, so glad you saved it!
How is that car in for scrap ! It’s mint
Great episode! I want to see more of this car. I love when you guys get cheap nuggets and this one feels like a little gem. Good work saving it from the wrecker!
It breaks my heart seeing car's scrapped like that..
No matter what's wrong with a car it can always be rebuilt.
should be illegal if fixable, id be happy people get jail for braking any car what fixable. i know my current car or my next one if i find right one hopefully become a classic, when i make mind up a lot rust fixing and prevention and high maintenance, no reason any car cannot see 30 plus years even much more
The first generation Colt....the Silver Spirit and the poor poor Beetle.... I'd hate to know what will happen to them!!!
Great video lads. Great exposure to a good company helping give old cars a 2nd chance 👍
Hold up, is that the first sighting of the TDC Porsche?!
Repair and reuse is what true environmentally friendliness is
Make more of these videos. And if you go back i would love to se the mitsubishi colt back on the road
I saw that exact Mitsubishi Colt on the road last year. Was very surprised to see it in this video 😢
@@thomasmason3483 to bad they arent seen as cool cars to people just a old rustbucket. But i think they are super cool get some nice wheels for it and a frontlip and a okay exhaust and you have a uniqe car
They call it a UA-cam channel but secretly, these guys are collectors of cars you haven't seen in a long time. Such a great crew!
you see a rolls and a porsche and you decide on 106, bruh
There's a good reason why the Porsche and rolls are there
The 106 they brought is the keywest edition, there's only 6 left on the road
I’m in the states and I absolutely love the new ride! That’ll clean up to show room condition with minimal effort. You guys genuinely scored with this one! Can’t wait to see what you all do with it.
They'll install a proot as a new multimedia headunit :P
Would it not be more environmentally friendly to sometimes sell parts for rarer/ older cars.
Probably only if you had people pick them up directly, shipping them would not
I'm chugging along in a '98 Clio. Sure the mileage isn't that great but it's solid, easy to repair and fun. Also while a lot of it could be re-used it could also be re-used more efficiently every year it doesn't get trashed.
Biggest killer of cars in the UK is rust. End up with a lot of mechanically solid cars that just aren't safe any more. So you end up with a lot of parts and nowhere to put them.
@@drunkenhobo8020 yeah but if people store/ maintain or under seal them correctly they are fine
Please please please do more of these videos!!! I really enjoyed how you gave that little car a new lease of life. However I would have enjoyed it more if it was the Polo
I love that 106 so much. The colour is amazing as is the interior. The seatbelts are *chefs kiss*. And it sounds like a tractor! I would love to own one of these.
Brilliant. This reminds me of my Green 206 Y reg that I just can't get rid of. A shame to see a fully working car with this much charm be scrapped! Great videos lads, great to see Car Throttle thriving with the new trio it works beautifully
