The legality of this 'car' gives me an idea for a video you should do - you've each got 8 hours to drive every letter category vehicle on the back of your licence that you're legally allowed to drive, including the odd ones like tractors and/or roadrollers. The catch to make it more difficult is you're not allowed to buy or hire any or borrow off friends, you've got to seek them out on your travels.
Realistically. You could swap a 1.4TDI or 1.9TDI VW diesel into that car. Probably get 70+MPG's and it would be reasonably quick due to the good torque the VW TDI motors put out. The 1.9TDI comes in a PD100 (100hp) or a PD150 (150)HP. The PD150's can hold 200+ wheel HP with just a turbo, big intercooler and tuning.
@@camerongsx9122 1.9 ARL's with the GT1749VB are very old and very rare now. They were the original 'Red Letter' TDI engines and they were rare to get in a VW. More commonly these units were found in the 1st generation Seat Leon FR's. It's a hard engine to get hold of these days as most 1.9's with the ARL engine code have long been scrapped. The Turbo's never lasted on them and you'd be lucky to find an ARL that doesn't have a 'war siren' turbo on its way out. I had a 1.9 PD engine in the original Seat Leon FR so I know these engines well as I had one for six years. They were good at the time when they first came out but not long shortly after other newer 16 valve twin overhead commonrail injected diesels came along with 350/370nms of torque with extra overboost features and the ARL's became quickly out dated. Sadly as they were Pumpe Duse and only running 320nms of torque on an 8 valve engine they weren't the best.
100hp would kill that chassis, it's not designed to take a lot of torque. They could simply get an diesel 15kW engine from kubota, and it would run better. I have an Aixam with an 5HP diesel engine, and although it has a lower v-max, the torque is wayy better than this.
There's an even easier swap. Lombardini makes a 3 and 4 cylinder turbo version of the same series engine. Even a common rail version. Sold as Kohler diesels in the US.
I went to Vietnam ages ago and rented a motorcycle, since at the gas station everything was written in Vietnamese I filled it with Diesel, after a while I've realized the mistake since it was loosing a lot of throttle, I've half empytied it by tilting it on the side in an empty field and put some gasoline, it ran like 1 week with 50% Diesel and 50% Gasoline, then i filled the trunk again with the correct fuel. Still impressed.

I had no idea a car like this existed. This would be a dream to import into the US for me. Wonder if any are 25 years old already? It's small, it's diesel, the only thing it's missing is the manual transmission. The closest thing we got to this in the US was the Chevette diesel which I absolutely love. Small with a manual transmission and gets 70-80 miles per gallon on the highway. Here in the US there is a 3 cylinder Turbo version of that Lombardini diesel sold as a Kohler and used in industrial applications. Which would be a really cool swap for that car.

Something that I find absolutely hilarious about this car is that despite the fact it's a 500cc petrol engine with zero emissions, it still has to pay both the ULEZ in London and the CAZ charge for Birmingham and Bristol. So sadly, you wont be saving any money on that with the upgrade from the Range Rover.
I actually own one, it’s a Virgo II Luxe from the year 2000 and I had it since I was 15 years old. Overall is very cheap to mantain, in Italy I pay £150 for insurance and £50 for “road tax”. In my 3 year experience I can say that the engine is quite reliable, but I had a very long list of issues, such as battery problems, starter motor, alternator, cooling problems and many more. As I’m writing this, she’s sitting currently in my yard on 3 wheels, since the suspension decided to break in half in front of my house, leading to the semi axle to get out of his place. Now I’m planning to repair it and probably sell it to a friend of mine, hoping he will treat her well. In Italy they are quite common, there are a lot of different models and they don’t loose to much value (I paid mine £1300 with approximately 22.000 miles or 36.000km, now she has 26.000 miles or 42.000km). Mine is a two seater diesel , like the majority of these quadricycles in Italy, with an astonishing 4bhp and when you go uphill she eventually loses speed and start to overheat. In the end, she was actually a shitbox, but a lovely and cute one (she’s green) and I will probably miss her (even tho she saw more the mechanic than my mom’s Peugeot). P.S. Before you ask, all my friends with quadricycles had a LOT of issues, they tend to be VERY unreliable, so think twice before buying one
This should be your Max Power style build to rival the FTO. Should be aftermarket lights for Saxo's and Corsa's, get a banging sound system, lowered, wheels, paint... build what you would have dreamed of as a Max Power kid at 16.
We have quite many of these in Finland, in finnish 'mopoauto' or literally translated 'moped car'. You can get a moped licence when you're 15, which used to allow to drive these things as well. But there were many accidents involving these things, so now you actually need some driving lessons with these, so the license for them is a bit stricter. They are also limited to 45 km/h, as are the mopeds.

The section where you took it on the cycle paths and through the tunnels was incredibly funny. Top gear vibes. Loved this video.
Honestly, putting Diesel on a Petrol is truly a British automobile youtuber moment
The heist and cycle lane parts just made this my favourite car channel
We have quite many of these in Finland, in finnish 'mopoauto' or literally translated 'moped car'. You can get a moped licence when you're 15, which used to allow to drive these things as well. But there were many accidents involving these things, so now you actually need some driving lessons with these, so the license for them is a bit stricter. They are also limited to 45 km/h, as are the mopeds.
Won't lie, wasn't feeling the first 5 mins, worried it would be the first ep that didn't absolutely bang. Boy was i wrong!
This channel keeps getting better and better well done chaps!
Edwin making a car look small is pretty normal.
When Will does it you _know_ it's small.
And the car that is dwarfed by Alex doesn't exist.
Made me laugh how comfortably Alex fit in the back :D
You guys are now my favourite UA-cam channel. The robbery was pure genius. “NOBODY MOVE…..please” 😂😂
You guys just can't miss with these banger videos. I am loving this new freedom you have.
Is this the first time Alex has sat in the back of a car without a booster seat!?
