Hi from a GR girlie, Salvation Army is great for jeans, vases and jackets, goodwill on 29th street for mugs and glasses, New 2 You for belts, sweaters, jewelry, old lady china, Renew Upscale Thrift for everything, I found super cute clothes there and kitchen stuff, B2 Outlets on 28th street in Grand rapids not the wyoming location is amazing for clothes and home decor they're a discount store that gets tons of stuff from Target and smaller brands. If you want to have fun diving through cheap bins that are clothes by the pound around $1.25 per pound go to the goodwill outlet center in grandville BRING SOME GLOVES you don't wanna touch kid undies.

I didn't know Grand Rapids had an Uptown Cheapskate! I definitely prefer thrift stores with prices like Salvation Arm, but it's still cool to know they have one of those there. Wow, that Salvation Army is really empty. YES, I try to always tell people when I think they look cute, I like their outfit, I think they are pretty, I like their hair, etc. We know how good it feels when someone tells us that kind of stuff, so why not let other people know when we think those things about them, because it most likely will make them feel good too! I definitely need to get some cargo pants. Super cute coat. We definitely need the bulky, super warm coats for Michigan winters. Loving everything you got!

I would love to see you try some of torrid’s basics, as they go from a size 8/10 and up. It might help when finding garments that fit your body stature. I’m a size 5 at torrid or a 26-30 in women’s plus size so it would be fun to see you branch into a completely different part of the fashion world!
They do? When I was a size 10/12, there was nothing at Torrid for me because I was too small. Now I’m a 14/16 but none of their clothes fit my new fairycore whimsigoth grunge style.

I don't know what it is about thrifting but I've never felt better about my body since I started buying pre-worn clothes. Maybe it's because you REALLY have no idea what your size is "supposed" to be since half of them are missing tags but I think you're also willing to experiment more with style because, I mean, it's $6. I use ThreadUp a lot which I know it's not the most ideal for the environment since everything is shipped instead of local (it's also very hard to return clothes) but damn they have some great options.

no hate to fei, I am a long time viewer and she have made me so much more confident in my mid size body but I just want someone to tell me their side on this... I kinda disagree with trifting for the most part. I am okay and understanding of people buying from the first store she went to bc it's more expensive, second hand, nice clothes but I HATE people with money buying from good will and salvation army as someone you had to get a job at 15 to support myself. a lot of people need those places to get clothes. if you don't want to be a part of fast fashion, then buy from globally responsible brands and don't fall into trends, just keep clothes you like until they are no longer wearable. I understand one or 2 pieces every 5 or 6 months while going out but the people buying there whole wardrobe is from goodwill just to throw it away or give it to a friend after wearing it twice for a insta pic is just somthing that rubs me the wrong way.... if someone sees it differently please comment, I might just not see the whole picture from my situation in comparison to yours or fei's
just using this as an example but at the end most the pieces of clothes she actually loved came from the expensive store, most people just buy from cheap thrift stores to say they did it not bc they actually love the piece

I’m queer and eat Chick fil a. It’s been over a decade since the initial controversy and the orig family doesn’t rule with the thumb they used to-not to mention I’ve never been to a Chick fil a where there weren’t queer staff. 😂 Now Salvation Army? I steer way clear. They’ve been pieces of crap for years with no improvement and their discrimination and poor charity business practices go beyond the LGBTQ+ community and disenfranchise other marginalized groups. But my motto is just do what you feel comfortable with and what’s within you personal means. As long as someone practices kindness and acceptance, I don’t care where they shop or eat once informed.
