I LOVE that you didn't re-invent your style, but improved old outfits. It was such an epiphany for me recently to realize that my style over the years changed much less than I had thought. We tend to be drawn to similar "ideas" (such as your example of the trousers). This is so important to realize because it allows you to work with what you have instead of always trying to re-invent yourself. It also shows that we tend to already have a personal style, we just need to polish it to convey the message adequately
love that you called out the “is it an outfit or is she just skinny” trend! it frustrates for me how people don’t know how proportion plays such a subtle but powerful role in creating outfits. PLUS celebrities in majority really do have stylists to help know which style fits for THEM, which is totally normal if it doesn’t for others.
I love how it's not that you're forcing one aesthetic as the answer or claiming that one style is better than the other, but just explaining how FOR YOU, something works well for logical reasons. Really helped me a lot! Love your videos xoxo
Shopping for your body type is an absolute game changer! I have started feeling more comfortable with my body when I stopped "following trends" and simply just wearing things that look good on ME and that I feel comfortable in. Great tips here!
In the most cases she only changed to high waisted trousers. It's a trend thing after all. I remember the time, when you can't find/buy higher waisted trousers... that sucked.
This was a beautifully explained, well put together and a calm video. The one outfit that really stood out for me was Outfit 3, I have always struggled or have always thought on how to style a graphic T-shirt. Love the edits !!
"Calm" really stood out for me, as well! So many of these types of videos are really hectic, fast paced and pumped. There's no way I can really learn or retain information thrown at me that way.
you adding the red bag to break up the focus of the red shoes really blew my mind. crazy how something so simple changed up the whole look. amazing job!!

You truly understand fit, proportions and fabric. This makes you an unbelievably fashionable person no matter the outfit. Kudos to you and the lesson you are passing on to us. Much thanks!
Girlll, as a fellow broad shouldered/narrow hip proportioned person, this resonated with me SO MUCH. I also had a wardrobe of narrow cropped trousers in the mid- to late- 2010s which never suited me - they were massively on trend for a while but never worked. Making the switch to longer & wider hems (even on things like shorts) has made SUCH a difference for me! Love this video, great & timeless advice 👌 you have a new fan!

That allowed the purple to stand out against the b&w whilst still having some sort of color combo details

Haven’t even finished the video but had to pause it to comment that this is very very well done Asia! Your commentary is spot on and very informed. I am a designer and studied a lot of these elements so I love this! Every “after” outfit is fantastic 👏🏾
Omg finally a fashion UA-camr that is not just about showing the clothes but provides substantial information that we can all learned about! You got a new follower! Meeee. ❤
Love this! Most videos Only tell us what to Do. You show us outfits that don’t work (that most of us probably have worn) and then you tell us how to fix it and the reasoning behind it. This was so thorough and helpful! Thank you!
This video definitely helped with my anxiety of styling myself. I’ve always just thrown stuff on and have been intimidated when trying to figure out my personal style. Love the outfits ! Super helpful!
This is so sweet and helpful. I’m so happy there’s an element of science (?) behind it all and such in depth explanation. I was having a clothing meltdown earlier but I feel like this gives me more room to be intentional and less judgemental of my body. It’s so nice to hear you be non judgmental to your body
The last outfit blows my mind, I never thought that that combination could look so good and formal, thanks for making this video it was super informative and now I think I can be stylish😊
This video was so relatable 😭 I have very similar body proportions and have always been insecure about my “broad shoulders” but this helps so much and makes me feel better. Thank you! ♥️♥️
I love this because we have a very similar body type so I can take a lot of reference from you. I also didn't have much choices when I was a child, I had to wear skinny jeans and they did not look good on me. I still don't think my mom knows why I am actually obsessed with baggy pants yet and absolutely will avoid skinny jeans for the rest of my life.
I liked the recreation with the puffer jacket the most, I think. I have mostly high waisted pants these days, so I love a cropped jacket. On a related note, I'm considering getting back into skinny jeans, but we shall see. Cropped kick flares also seem like fun!
Girl you had me in the first second of the video. I love people who don't take themselves too seriously and also, the information in your video is really valuable.
I really love this video. Of course this vlogger is speaking for herself about herself, but my takeaway is two-fold: It's okay to get things wrong. It's also awesome to work on figuring out a style that works for you.
I love this type of video and really liked the transformation of the second and third outfit! When we understand our body, the diference in fabrics and fits dressing up gets a lot more easy :)
I realised this month that I'd given up on being stylish and fashion forward since the pandemic happened. I used to dress up just to chill out with my friends but now it's always sweatpants and athleisure (which, granted, can still be stylish, but the point is that I don't think when I dress anymore). I'm trying to get back into upping my awareness me sense, so thanks for helping out!
I am a newbie in the fashion world and this was very informative. I really liked how you did just discuss the mistakes; you also showed how to correct it. It all tied together well. Thank you 🙏🏾
This is a great video Asia - you listed out basically all the mistakes I've made over the years and the advice you give is super clear and easy to follow. Thank you :)
What a masterclass!!!!! And the second look was perfect to see how the exact same outfits look completely different whe we pay attention on proportions. Thankkkksss girl!
I’m currently going through finding my own personal style! It’s fun but overwhelming and this video helped understand concepts I’ve been missing. Getting rid of my skinny jeans now bc I also wasn’t reaching out for them. Great video! Looking forward to more 😎
finally somebody put it well, there is a lot of yutubers spaming vids like how to look expensive etc but all they provide is a visual on their body that would not look good on others. Love the different approach
Yup, I've learnt that too about my body proportions and my style & comfort evolved a notch in the last few years ! Best thing most of us did is getting rid of skinny pants 😂 Love all ur recreations 👌🏼 Keep this type of videos coming 😃
Wow wow wow. Stumbled upon this video by accident but it's literally what I've been looking for! To my people embarking on this fashion journey with me- WE GOT THIS!!! Thanks Asia 💜
Yes to fashionista Asia! Your fashion videos were what brought me to your channel back in 2017. I was in high school then and I've just finished my master's degree which is just crazy. I honestly have to thank you for guiding me when I was a teen and wanted to become a fashion girly but didn't know how haha love you, Asia ❤
Dang, this was SO well done- it was very relatable, with tweaks and thoughts that I could easily put into practice right nah.👏👏👏 I’m a bit flipped with having wider hips than my shoulders, but same dealio with needing certain fabrics and cuts to really do it all justice. Also, I’m digging outfits 2 & 3. So guuuuud. Thank you!!
Wowwww Asia!!! This was totally awesome to watch! I love how you went through your old photos and recreated them based on your knew knowledge of fashion. I could do relate to you cause once you figure out your body proportion and fit, OMG you understand how to style yourself in a more appealing way. Definitely got a new subscriber on your hands!😊
I'm thinking about this from the perspective of 1) what my favorite outfits/pieces are, 2) why I love them/feel good in them, and 3) how to apply that to new clothes. It'd be really cute to see you analyze those things with a friend who doesn't know these principles yet, going through their wardrobe, etc.
I didn’t know I needed this but I did! I’ve always been told to wear clothes that flatter my body but no one ever explains what that means; broad shoulders, narrow hips, shorter torso, longer legs, etc. so helpful. I love all of your opinions and tips
Same here. I bought this plain brown shirt a couple of months ago because I wanted more basic pieces but haven’t bothered to wear it after the first time. The fabric is just way too thin and I was constantly having to adjust it. This video really highlighted to me why it didn’t work for me.
Yesss!!! I love this!!! High waisted skinny jeans were my enemy but it was the only thing available for years. Thank you gen z for bringing back wide leg, baggy, mid-rise, flare etc.
It's kind of cool to see too how in the before pictures you have the long hair, but it's almost always pulled back anyway. That short hairstyle really suits you!
“Explore literally any other type of pants. Yes, I’m taking to you fellow millennials!” She really got me 🤣🤣 I have been so hesitant to branch out because I’ve been shamed in the past so hard for wearing high water flare pants and now they’re in style… this video has convinced me to brand out!!
Can you please do more videos like this? I have a similar body shape and this is blowing my mind in the best way. Edit: my fave outfit was the second one with the v neck bodysuit. I LOVE those white pants! I’m always looking for a longer inseam to accommodate my legs.
Your guide on how to elevate daily style is like a fashion compass leading to a realm of chic sophistication! It's reminiscent of the teachings from my lifecoach Lisa Haisha during her soul-enriching retreat in the Philippines. Both you and Lisa share a common thread of inspiring greatness.
I love how you explain things. I have a better understanding of how to pair clothes. Now I know some looks just aren’t meant for my body type and will change it up to fit me. Thank you for this video ❤ btw loved the second recreated outfit
Great video Asia! I too have recently discovered that I have narrow hips or ‘Inverted Triangle’ body shape which is also exaggerated with my large bust 😅 I fall into the short torso/long leg category and love a high waisted pant to show off my long legs, but have been experimenting with mid rise to balance out my proportions 🤞🏾 I’ll see how it goes. More videos like this would be amazing! ✌🏾
Hi Asia! Thank you so much for making this video - I've struggled for a long time with my short torso and long legs, especially considering it's not represented in mainstream media and having friends who fit that image more. It's really nice to see this representation and I was happy to see that we had the same proportions :)
Really?? I always thought long legs were represented and my short stubby legs aren’t made for anything or represented by anyone or any brand 😂 I guess we all feel underrepresented
I lost a significant amount of weight over the past few years and I thought that would help me look better & even tho I’m very fit now I still hate the way I look when I dress and this video and your other video is a game changer for me thank you!!!🥺🫶🏽 we need more of these, this isn’t talked about enough! I always wondered why I hate some of my jeans and I can never get a good outfit together. Also, I love when you used your mom as a comparison because it really shows the perspective for both but really shows the visual differences! Definitely subscribing
In the decade that I've been drowning in clothes unfit for me, I never thought to complement my proportions and choose the right fabrics :o thanks for sharing tt attention to detail!
Great freaking video!!!!! Loved how you explained everything in detail, showed us different ideas for your body type, and added some comedy in as well. Definitely giving stylist energy👀
BE A U TI FULLLLLLL!!! I can tell how much effort you put on this video, and let me tell you? What a masterpiece! I loved, thank you for the knowledge queennnnn
Excellent video! You’ve gained a new subscriber here! I loved how you broke each of the looks down and analysed your own proportions to improve the look. I’m plus sized and often think that things look good on my Pinterest pins just because the subject is slim. You have most definitely proved me wrong and the examples of the different body styles you showed demonstrated that. I think I’m going to have some fun trying this exercise on myself. Thank you Asia. X
Girl... this was amazing. I have been struggling understanding how to dress and constantly frustrated in the morning with what to wear and feeling so uncomfortable and the most in-confident all day long. This video has given me structure for how to learn to dress myself to material, my body type, and proportions. You're a life saver. Thank you so much for this video.
As a fellow millennial, I cracked up and can relate to when you said “release yourself self from the chains of skinny jeans” 😂I finally did that and now I enjoy shopping and wearing clothes again 🤗
I thought that Outfit 3 was the biggest improvement style-wise and Outfit 4 did the most for your body proportions. Thank you for this informative guide! Would love to see more like this!
I love this video this is the first time I’ve ever actually understood why certain pieces are chosen for a specific body type! Thank you for sharing! 💗

I still don't think my mom knows why I am actually obsessed with baggy pants yet and absolutely will avoid skinny jeans for the rest of my life.
the comment you made about the red bag and shoes was so insightful. A consideration l am definitely going to apply to my own wardrobe xx
I liked the recreation with the puffer jacket the most, I think. I have mostly high waisted pants these days, so I love a cropped jacket. On a related note, I'm considering getting back into skinny jeans, but we shall see. Cropped kick flares also seem like fun!
Please please do more of these for other body types!!! This was so helpful
Ok this was so helpful. I need you to do one for summer clothes though!! I look so weird in shorts and I have no idea why
This just got me rethinking about everything in my closet. Thank you for this Asia
Looking forward to more 😎
bro this video was the missing link in my fashion journey. The way you described your body proportions just makes sense and is so accurate to mine
finally somebody put it well, there is a lot of yutubers spaming vids like how to look expensive etc but all they provide is a visual on their body that would not look good on others.
Def me too
I appreciate the deconstruction and reconstruction of eqch outfit with detailed explanations..it has to be intentional...love it!
this has been the most useful video about style i’ve seen so far on youtube. those clear examples and explanations were soooo helpful, thanks!!!
Dang, this was SO well done- it was very relatable, with tweaks and thoughts that I could easily put into practice right nah.👏👏👏
I’m a bit flipped with having wider hips than my shoulders, but same dealio with needing certain fabrics and cuts to really do it all justice.
I’ve always been told to wear clothes that flatter my body but no one ever explains what that means; broad shoulders, narrow hips, shorter torso, longer legs, etc. so helpful. I love all of your opinions and tips
this is exactly what i was looking for. understanding body type, proportions is EVERYTHING. i love your style and content
This is probably the most useful stylig video I've ever seen (and I've seen a few).
The part about different Tshirt materials was an eye-opener
Same here. I bought this plain brown shirt a couple of months ago because I wanted more basic pieces but haven’t bothered to wear it after the first time. The fabric is just way too thin and I was constantly having to adjust it. This video really highlighted to me why it didn’t work for me.
Amazing job on explaining the details and I love how you used your photos as comparison. Beautiful video!
To say I learned a lot from this video is an UNDERSTATEMENT 🤌✨💕 Loved your explanations side by side with the visuals!
This is hands down the most educational video on style, understanding your body type and body proportions when recreating Pinterest style! Thank you
“Explore literally any other type of pants.
Also, can you please share where the bra is from?
@@aasian thank you! I realize I didn’t specify the black bra… but it’s definitely skims 😩❤️ I appreciate you!!!
Thank you for sharing your insights! I'm not sure of the last one, but first 4 definitely changed the entire look. You're fab
I lost a significant amount of weight over the past few years and I thought that would help me look better & even tho I’m very fit now I still hate the way I look when I dress and this video and your other video is a game changer for me thank you!!!🥺🫶🏽
we need more of these, this isn’t talked about enough!
BROO!! I finally found a fashion creator with my body type AND fantastic style!! 😭👏💯
Girl, I just discovered your channel with this video... I watched all these tips and comments with my mouth open. You're so good!
As a fellow millennial, I cracked up and can relate to when you said “release yourself self from the chains of skinny jeans” 😂I finally did that and now I enjoy shopping and wearing clothes again 🤗
This video has been one of the best ways to break this down for me.. as a midsize girly THANK YOU 15:03
just, WOW. I think we have a similar body type/shape and this video was SO HELPFUL! Would love to see more vids like this! Thank you, Asia!! ♥♥♥
You did an amazing job w this video, the effort, production, and editing totally shows!!
I thought that Outfit 3 was the biggest improvement style-wise and Outfit 4 did the most for your body proportions. Thank you for this informative guide! Would love to see more like this!
as a neurodivergent fashion girlie, thank u for making this so comprehensible oh my gosh.
I love this video this is the first time I’ve ever actually understood why certain pieces are chosen for a specific body type! Thank you for sharing! 💗
it is worth paying attention to, thanks for the video to the author!
Thanks for this brilliant coverage of important concepts. Glad you showed up in my feed. 😃 It appears that your channel is mainly about lifestyle /travel. However, I’m hoping that you do more of style/design videos like this one- bc you’re amazingly good at this. 🤷🏻♀️
@Asia Jackson. Wow! Up to 1 million views now. 🥳
