It’s crazy how much you’ve changed over the years! It always makes me emotional to look at old pictures so I never do 😭. It’s insane cus I started watching you during your initial Korea trip and it’s so bizarre how you don’t notice change when it’s happening, you only notice it when you’re looking back.

Happy for the self compassion at the end of the video. I find myself going down rabbit holes when Google shows me my younger self who was struggling to figure out who she was, was so trapped and depressed. But instead of tearing younger me apart I now accept and appreciate her with grace and realize, I was and always have and to this day, am just doing my best

Fei, this video was amazing. I honestly wish we were friends during this period of your life. I think we’re around the same age, and I was honestly going through the same exact identity crisis. I used to dye my hair all the time, wear heavy makeup, contact lenses, and I really didn’t know how to dress myself. I was so lost as to who I actually was I would tell myself “I want to look like a different person” whenever I put on my makeup to go out. Thinking back on it, it was sad. But, just like you, I’ve learned to be comfortable being myself. Am I 100% there yet? Not at all. But I found people like me for me and embracing me instead of trying to change everything about myself is more enjoyable 😊

I was in the same position as you - being insecure of my image and being unsure of who I was. Watching this made me realize that we basically grew together. We moved past that phase and found ourselves. I don't really comment often but I'm doing it now because I really wanna express from the bottom of my heart just how proud I am of us :')))

Oh man oh man can I relate to the MASSIVE weight fluctuations when looking back at old photos. Weight cycling really has had me a chokehold since I was like 13 lol. It's so awkward because when you look back at photos people can just do that INSTANT comparison and see if you are "on track" or "falling off".

Sometimes as we grow up we're confused as to what we want. We sometimes just follow certain trends that aren't really speaks of who we really are. But when we're old enough or reach that certain age that we don't care anymore of what other's say, that's when we accept ourselves.

I think everyone can relate to cringing at and feeling embarrassed by their old self (I'm cringing about it as I type this lol). I'm 21 and _definitely_ still feel like I'm stuck in an awkward phase. But, at the same time, I acknowledge that I've come a long way from my most "embarrassing" years-- and that I'm going to grow and change even more as time goes on. I think it's totally fine to poke fun at yourself and be like "what was I thinking?!" but always make sure to appreciate the *you* that you are now and the changes that happened along the way.

I have real braces - the metal ones. Couldn't afford the invisible ones. Dude...FYI to anyone wanting them as a n adult....it freaking hurts so much. But Fei, I feel the same way girl. My face and smile is changing and I'm starting to feel more confident. Interesting how one thing changes and your whole identity blossoms. I'm also doing more active things, and I'm just loving life. After losing my Mom in October last year to pancreatic cancer, I've realized life is too short to be mad, or sad about how you look, or worrying about money. Guys, just live. Live and enjoy the little things in life and remember you can easily walk away from someone who being mean, or block them. You have control over you, never stop being you. Xoxo. if any of you feel bad abt yourself looking at your old photos thinking you look so much worse back then, just know that there are people (like me) who hates their look so much they never even get any photos taken and just wont allow anyone to take their photo. i was in boarding school so people usually wanna take pictures together especially on events, but if i even caught a camera that might have catch me in the photo, i would go up and delete the photos from their cameras myself. i'd always be aware of event cameras facing me so i'll turn to make sure i'll never get caught in any photo. basically i have nothing to look back on because i just hate how i look. even these days, i only agree to pictures when i actually feel good abt myself (the pictures would still turn out bad for me and i'd delete them)

I went from being 120-135 for years, YEARS. Then I’m the last two years I blew up to 180. I’m assuming it was some of the medications I took, because nothing changed otherwise. But even when I was ‘skinny’ I believed I was fat. I literally looked at myself in the mirror then and just saw myself as way bigger than I was. Now I’m ‘fat’ and I hate how much I disliked myself back then.
