Never been a massive Dave grohl fan (nothing against him at all, just not a fanboy of his), but always respected how he treats his gigs like parties. He doesn't take himself too seriously and that's such a great quality to have. Are you really gonna enjoy a gig more where every note is played perfect from a stiff band or one where the frontman interacts and has fun with the crowd? Fair play to the dude.
I went to a FOO fighters concert quite awhile ago when he fell of stage and snapped his leg, instead of canceling the rest of the tour he had a giant chair made of guitars like the iron throne from game of thrones and rebranded the tour the broken leg tour. It was a great time he's a genuine dude ! Love the way he makes everything a party like you said.
I wouldn't be surprised if it had to do with loosing Kurt early on in his career. Sure kurt obviously had drug issues and offed himself, but im sure it gave dave foresight on nkt taking the world seriously cause you never know when this day will be your last.

Love the Foo Fighters, I was at a show in roanoke va and the crowd pushed the baracade against the stage and the civic center manager came out asking the crowd to back up nobody moved then Foo Fighters walked out said there family was there to see them play and ow yeah don't eat the brown acid.. the look on the managers face was awesome.it was a hell of a show. Love me some Foo Fighters
She's nailing it but if you close, you can see the terror in her eyes. Understandably. As former roadie who has had to run out on stage in the middle of a show to fix something, there's a certain level of fright that flows through you. Hundreds if not thousands watching you.
