@@Chandy84 We're a small country, so most of us speak at least one foreign language. She is definately very good at English, but if any of you English speakers out there ever visit Denmark, you'll see that you'll have no problem getting by in your own language. Most Danes speak English. I'm an old dude myself, and speak English and German quite fluently ... and some French, if I'm forced to :D
Stuff like this is happening all over the city all the time. You can't stop to listen to every one of them. You also pass by stuff, that other people find too good to pass by.

@@Corttoro I might be wrong, but especially her being from Denmark, it wouldn't surprise me that she's on birth control, with her parents' blessings. I've heard that in some countries, some parents start their daughters on it at 10 yr. I'm not yet sure if I like that idea or not. 🤔 When I was a teenager, I knew a fourteen-year-old girl whose parents had her on birth control pills, so that in case she ever she got raped, she wouldn't get pregnant.
I would sing in another country before singing in my own. Noone knows you there, so it doesn't matter if you mess up. You go back home and you never see these people again. But when you live in a small city and will sing publicly, it's entirely different story.
Loved the Danish generosity applauding Reggie as he repeated Hej and Tak, while the teenage tourist effortlessly talks about how "the stakes are high" and how she "talked herself up". Such linguistic prowess! And I teared up with her beautiful rendition...
Judging from her composure, she's about 13 years old. The danish school system moved their english curriculum to start from 3rd to 1st grade in 2014, so she'll have had between 6 and 7 years of English classes already. She's quite likely alot better in conversational english than her parents, whose start was likely to be at 5th grade.
@Fotter Most do, but not to that level at that age (assuming eidodk is about right with the guess). Especially the bigger countries are way behind, just for the reason that not everything gets dubbed into their languages. I'm German, almost everything you get to see on TV or in cinemas is dubbed German, you'll hear barely any English that way. Sure, you get a pretty good education and should(!) be able to understand and speak English to an acceptable level at the end of it (B2 if you do 12/13 years for those who know that scale). Realistically though, this won't get you more than just basic grammar and some vocabulary. My English at 13 was horrible, at least compared to hers. You need regular real exposure to get a feeling of how a language works, even films and series help a lot. The internet is changing things a lot, pretty much all the English I know beyond education through school is from the internet and the current generation of kids and teens starts learning English thorugh it even earlier so their level will be high a lot faster. Long story short, sadly, it's not like this everywhere in Europe and her English is great.
@@huldren3 Hm. I know that nothing really gets dubbed and there are subtitles only. Looking back at what I wrote, my wording was pretty bad for what I wanted to convey. My bad there.

@@purpledancerbmw5279 not every person who sings has an american accent... even with an accent id say she still had amazing pronunciation, compared to other people. in some parts it could use a little work, sure, but overall she did really well!
@@purpledancerbmw5279 - tell that to ABBA, The Beatles, The Monkeys, SIA, Keith Urban, Men At Work, etc, etc, etc. Define "accent." People in every country have accents according to their region, people in every large city have accents according to their neighborhood (Queen's English, Cockney, RP - all in London alone!). If you only want American voices as your musical preferences, that is truly unfortunate as there are so many wonderful songs sung by people the word over. Heck, even in America, there are HEAVILY accented singers - ones from Louisiana and Mississippi Bayou areas, the deep and middle south, Mountain music, etc. it is a rich tapestry of sound, emotion and feeling. Music is in the very heart and soul of a person and I have enjoyed the musical talents of Alaskan Natives, Gregorian Chant, Camaroon drummers, Southern Gospel, Northern Worship and others along with the "standard" American fare. I find my outlook on life is greatly broadened by all I have experienced. Accented or not.

Amy Winehouse is such a tragedy. I feel like people didn't take her seriously because of her addiction but, man, she is such an incredible soul artist. Lyrics were so upfront and realistic. Miss that woman.
That's absurd! She was talented and she got credit and recognition for it. How else would she have been successful and known worldwide? Same with Whitney Houston! But they both undermined their talents and gift with drugs and alcoholism and were no longer doing their jobs well, i.e. getting up on stage and doing their thing. Whatever your job and talent, anytime you compromise it with addiction of any kind, it's game over for most.
@@crackerjackrappr it's not people, it's her performance and herself. She stopped taking herself, her work and her opportunities seriously. What she put herself out there as a professional singer who was applauded by people (and that being her business) and then she wasn't delivering, she stopped due to addictions. She lost her work ethic. That goes for any job in any business in any industry. She defied any help she got and could continue getting. That's not people's/fans' fault. You can't rely on the industry and fan base to help you (that's business as usual). Only you can help yourself if you say you take yourself seriously, with the support of well-meaning colleagues, family members and close friends. Fans can only wish and hope that you'll do the right thing. They help you by motivation by cheering and applauding you but can't hand hold you. The mode addicts go into is that of "it's ok, it's just a little harmless fun - it's nothing, I am ok, I know what I am doing, it's my life and I can do whatever I wanna do". What are the fans suposed to do about that when personal friends, medical professionals and family who know addicts can't get through their mindsets. Addicts even undermine their sense of purpose. Whitney Houston didn't even think she had a daughter for 'a little harmless fun'. Her daughter and motherhood should have been her motivation. Her performance too dropped significantly. So fan like healthy singers, not crashers! When Amy Whitehouse was clean, taking her blooming career seriously and performing well, she did well and remained clean. That kind of performance appraisal, presentation, commitment and delivery of good work is always appreciated across any industry. No excuses for sub-standard output when you have (actually) shown and done better! Don't expect to pay top-dollar for sub-standard job performance. Never blame others (people) of disloyalty when you betrayed yourself to start with.
@@crackerjackrappr if you don't take your talent (expertise) and work seriously, no one can help you! And then you blame everyone but yourself for your own failures.

Something was up with that Danish family. Either that girl thought he was hitting on her at end or he was a legit creep for asking for her contact info. Strange she insisted on getting his social but didn’t want to give any of hers.
@@jetnut89 she just didn’t want her social media posted online but he obviously ended up getting it, but had to be edited out for obvious reason 🙄

The Danish girl has real talent, that sounded so hauntingly atmospheric and could be a huge hit just as it is, well done girl ❤️.

@@_NCO youd be surprised. hands down my favourite change to youtube and the internet in the last 10 years is the older generations using it. i remember in 2010 running into someone who was older than 60 was rare. nowadays, i play games with a group that ranges from 20-65yo, i love it man. genuinely such a blessing to get to bond with ppl from all walks of life with common interests. Reggie's guitar skills are off the charts! To be able to accompany anyone on anything takes some serious technical skill. Thank you for doing what you do, Reggie. As much as any minister or psychotherapist, you put the human spirit on a higher plain. Both Josh who sang "Valerie" and Signe who sang "We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off" were strong singers. Signe sounds professional.

Signe sang such a touching rendition of the song. Very sweet to see her family/friends really enjoying her song.
WHen she said that song i was like HUH?!?! and then pre-embarrassed because she was with her parents lmao but like you said, it was a really sweet rendition of it. Very surprising and very cool duet! :)
The young man was adorable and he could sing, and the gentleman playing the guitar is awesome and the young girl did really well. This was fun..

Just a horrible song for a 14 yr old to be listening to and singing lol
Brave? LOL! She has her own band.
@@Corttoro I might be wrong, but especially her being from Denmark, it wouldn't surprise me that she's on birth control, with her parents' blessings. I've heard that in some countries, some parents start their daughters on it at 10 yr.
I'm not yet sure if I like that idea or not. 🤔
When I was a teenager, I knew a fourteen-year-old girl whose parents had her on birth control pills, so that in case she ever she got raped, she wouldn't get pregnant.
I would sing in another country before singing in my own. Noone knows you there, so it doesn't matter if you mess up. You go back home and you never see these people again. But when you live in a small city and will sing publicly, it's entirely different story.
yeah, i would never have done this, too shy. so this was really awesome!!
@@eidodk She is such a good singer, just think how good she will be when her voice matures!
@@airfighter0013 Just a footnote, nothing on tv is dubbed in Denmark, it's subtitled.
@@huldren3 Hm. I know that nothing really gets dubbed and there are subtitles only. Looking back at what I wrote, my wording was pretty bad for what I wanted to convey.

Gotta lose the accent.
@@purpledancerbmw5279 not every person who sings has an american accent... even with an accent id say she still had amazing pronunciation, compared to other people. in some parts it could use a little work, sure, but overall she did really well!
Loved the accent and voice!

It's a staple Jermaine Stewart hit from 1986.
I have heard it had no idea it had been around so long.
@eidodk yes, I found it. I suspect this young lady listened to Ella Eyre's version from 2015. The 1986 tempo was more funk...2015 slower. Thanks for info.
@@Zinnie988 So what you're saying is that people stopped taking her seriously bc of her addiction?
