This song makes me cry as a player. The drum army is the best thing. You can't really hear the other players. This is my wake up call about caring every day. Somebody is falling and needs a hand up while others just need support. If you're a player, play this song.
It's been a long time since I've been affected by a video. Man, this is overwhelming. And they say Rock 'N' Roll is dead. I call BULLSHIT! Can't wait to see the footage of the Foo Fighters concert!
Ten Second Songs I follow you and your freakin' awesome work. I was there, one of the 250 singers.. And it is absolutely great for me reading a comment of yours here, Anthony ..
I got sent here by The Charismatic Voice reacting to Learn To Fly. The comment section kept mentioning this video. I am so happy I just discovered this. It is amazing!
Smooth McGroove Imagine if you're Dave. The feeling that so many people know how to play your song, sing your lyrics, feel so passionate about the band that they put on this just to ask if they will bless them with your presence. Just as a compassionate human i'd want to thank every single one and play a show for an hour at least for this effort..
James Trendall I can imagine that today was one of the best days a human could ever have for Dave. Too bad we can't quantify it and put it into the Guinness Book of World Records.
After eight years still watching it with tears of happiness ! It makes my day when i see such nice italians gathering for a band. Italy is a country full of culture, history, amazing landscapes but i will always remember the kind, friendly (from young to old) and helpfull people during my holidays in the nineties ! You don't have to visit big cities there... Just a small village out of nowhere and will you know how friendship feels like !!!
When I am old and grey, I want to tell my grandchildren I was part of something, something like this. Screw money, fame, being an out of touch footballer, for me this is what life is all about. This is special, something that binds binds people, normal people together. I am so glad these people got together and created something this beautiful, I am extremely jealous (in a good way) not to be a part of something like this but also thankful someone had the vision to go, yeah, let's fucking do this!. I don't get choked up easily but this really got to me, I absolutely fucking love it and can feel myself holding it back every time haha
Amazing, wonderful, I've seen it so many times..., and also so important, so full of positive messages, here are some: 1) Rock will never die 2) Italy has still some hope 3) Dreams come true, sometimes 4) Humanity is not so evil, perhaps 5) Viva la gnocca (the most evident)
In these years there's the economical crisis, but it's a lot more complicate: the social and political problems (for many years we haven't been able to express a competent/decent political class, so people have no trust in the administration and the state), there is a lot of pessimism around, for the future too... and the artistical/cultural decadence, I think it is also a consequence of the other problems, anyway it's impossible tu discuss all these aspects in a few posts...... but this fantastic video made by all these beautiful and happy people, though it doesn't solve anything, gives me happiness and a little hope, and it's not only me, I have read a lot of posts, so many italians did express the same feelings... ciao!
Enrico Ferrari A handshake from an American...we feel your pain as well.We are humans afterall.Governments, elected officials and all that shit doesnt appy here..this video was made by,for humans..and you surely arent the only one..was crying my eyes out seeing this for the first time lol,and I'm a man with no emotions!Cheers from Seattle WA baby!!

Watch Foo Fighters Play the Italian City That Made Crazy Viral Video to Invite Them Chris Payne 11/4/2015 Grohl of Foo Fighters performs live at Nuovo Teatro Carisport in Cesena Francesco Castaldo/Pacific Press/LightRocket Three months ago, a video featuring a thousand Italians begging the Foo Fighters to play their city went viral. Tuesday night (Nov. 3) this very random dream came true, as one of the biggest rock bands in the world played a marathon set in Cesena, Italy. What a time to be alive Appropriately, the set opened with “Learn to Fly,” the song covered by a thousand musicians in the video that launched the whole affair. Later on, Dave Grohl spotted the mohawked drummer from the video in the crowd and invited him onstage to drum on a cover of Queen’s “Under Pressure.” Check it out below:
ATCsmusic You think this is inspiring, you should check out the old Coca-Cola commercials! You remember, "I'd like to teach the world to sing." ua-cam.com/video/1VM2eLhvsSM/v-deo.html
It is the trippiest thing in the world watching the drummers all in sync like this- I may be an EDM producer, but I was raised on rock, and this is the best thing I've seen all year!
Music is really a beautiful thing, if someday humanity is destroyed and some alien race comes upon Earth I hope one of the only things they see is our music
Whod have thought it. Since the dawn of music it was always a communal thing. While rock n roll is good idolising a few musicians is probably missing the point as this event demonstrates. It mustve been epic to be involved in this. The consumer becomes the artist
For those that say that the heart of music has died in this digital era- behold it beats strong as ever. You just need to give people an opportunity to show it... One song can unite 1000 people in one field. Italy- you rocked it.
Chad Cassidy Just wait for Dave and the other band members to respond. That will indeed be the best comment/response ever :) I suspect strong emotions may be involved...
Eric William -MKme Tech Yes, one song that is Katy Perry with distorted guitar, bass and drums and produced in a studio while showing everyone playing live. Could not be more fake and cliche, even Michael Bay would do a better direction out of this.
Who the hell downvotes this???? Look at the joy, the musicianship, the precision, the skill. This is the power of music and the arts right here on display for all of us and nearly 500 of you are like "NOPE, do not like!" What is wrong with your life that you can't appreciate this?
FrankuKnowsBest Why be so divisive? Most really really religious people would likely not watch a video like this. I'm religious and I loved the skill. The song is not especially offensive. It is just a song.
Jason Beck YOU'RE DAMN DAMN FUCKING RGHT! What is wrong with their lives that they can't appreciate that? i totally agree with you. POOR SOUR PEOPLE WITHOUT SOUL. Rock saves lives. and this video mada me cry. it is A MIRACLE." I believe in miracles I belive in a better world. (j. Ramone)"

I feel so EMOTIONAL every damn time I watch this, and I’ve been coming back to it for years. It never ceases to move me to tears. The music is stellar, and I think it’s the joy on the faces of everyone that is contagious 🥰 So pure.
Absolutely one of the most incredible and inspiring musical performance I’ve ever seen. May the universal language of music deepen our understanding of one another and teach us that we’re a lot more alike than different. Thanks to the 1000 rockers and thanks to the Foo Fighters.
This is just brilliant. I can't stop watching. This makes me happy. It is much more than a possible Foo Fighters concert. It is humans gathering together and show that it is possible to fight for one major objective, have compassion and produce completely inspiring moments. Completely amazed.
Rodrigo Antunes well said. Just one thing, they fight for an objective but they took the strenght from the love for foo fighters! So foos are somewhat the soul of this show. Their work has inspired all this
All the wars going on all over the world all the hate and still come together to make something so beautiful! Y'all are awesome We need more of it. GOD BLESS!
I'm 49 years old, from Texas, and I've watched this video so many times. It's wonderful. I've never been to Italy, so I'm foreign to you, but I love everyone in this video. Would have loved to have been a part of that experience. The Drummers are amazing, the women are beautiful and can sing like angels. The guitarists got it together. Reminds me of the fun I had back in the day... Italy is awesome!
I've traveled to Europe a multitude of times, though I haven't been to Italy YET. Everyone I spoke to, said they LOVED both Italy and the Isle of Sicily. :)
I'm from Texas too. I was just going to leave a comment until I read yours and your words were so perfect that, if you don't mind, I'm going to just give you a big like and say that we are Texans and we approve this message :P . God Bless, Italy... y'all are in our prayers.
Well I'm Canadian and I've lived in Toronto, Ontario.. Now in Edmonton, Alberta.. I'm actually seeing the Foo Fighters in 10 days and I've seen them live 3 times before.. .. This video really makes me realize that I may take too much advantage of the concert opportunities we get here... I would love to see this kind of passion come from my people but it wouldn't happen because we are spoiled and can't unite like that for just the pure love of music.. This video has inspired me to do something special just for the fun of it.. Thanks Italy you guys made me smile and think :)
AttilatheThrilla ok, but Italy is not on the Moon...Foo Fighters will come in Italy in November (also in Bologna, only 50km from Cesena). They come in Italy whenever they do a tour. Obviously, not only Foo Fighters, more or less any famous band come in Italy during a world or European tour. Rockin' 1000 was a great social event create by fans to call FF to play in Cesena (a small city) also because in 1997 FF played there.
AttilatheThrilla Foo Fighters play often here, the point is that Cesena is a small town, in Canada you have to live in one the four big cities to see a big gig, I guess if you live in the middle of Manitoba it would not be easier to see a concerrt! In Europe you don't need to drive more than 3-4 hours to be in a big city, in Canada you must fly few hours from Montreal to Calgary.
This group did not miss a beat. It just goes to show the love we all have for the Foos. They imprint on us and become part of our lives, the phases of life we endure, suffer, and succeed through. They’re always playing in the background. Rest In Peace, Taylor. Thank you for being there, always. ❤️
+Arlilecay The magic was they did NOT asked us to do ANYTHING... They gave us the track once they selected us with some basic rules (no chops, be very basic), and then we rehearsed together only on that day. What you see is ALL spontaneous.

I agree. I can't stop smiling when I watch this over and over. If I had a bucket list, being involved with this, or something like it, would be on it. This had to sound amazing.
@@BlaBla-ny4bo Music isn't black and white - its fluid. This might be more "pop" - as in "popular" - because of its chord progression and general song structure mimics the tropes many popular songs do. I wouldn't call this Pop, however. Madonna, Britney Spears, Demi Levato, etc, are Pop. Foo Fighters evolved from the Grunge era - namely Dave Grohl's time in Nirvana. Older acts such as ACDC, Gun's N Roses and such, are moreso classified as "classic rock". To me, its all rock. Music shouldn't be defined by such terms, imo, it undermines the connection it's supposed to bring.
Bla Bla so your saying “rock” music should be something not everyone can play and therefore have a deeper more personal connection too. Because by that definition AC/DC isn’t rock because any one can pick up a bass a continuously play a 7 on E and say “hey look I’m playing thunderstruck”
Bruhhh you just made me imagine a place where all the rock legends that died like Freddie Mercury, Jimi Hendrix, SRV, John Lennon, and many others just having the time of their lives
Foo Fighters, you are the luckiest and the most beloved band on the earth; never seen any fans like this so far. You Italians, the coolest fans of the world. A fan from Seoul.
As the tears fall down my cheeks, I'd like to think I could b apart of this massive friendship before I die. Bucket list, I just began. Today, at 50, just to be a part of something bigger than I could imagine. Music has always been magical to me. Thank you

Ammirazione infinita!
Michael Mitchell he was! In one the interviews Dave said that the biggest compliment in his life came from Kurt's mouth. After he heard song recorded by Dave and his friends he told him something like: "Man, this is fuckin' awesome." I bet I would want to hear something like that.
What I find incredible about this video is the vast diversity of people all uniting for the singular purpose of playing 1 song. There's plenty of negativity in this world, but moments like this one show us there is still good left. Rock on!
I tried so hard to hear someone screw up, but nothing. It sounds like they got it absolutely PERFECT. Which I really have to commend them on. This was beautiful.
Whenever I feel down or depressed, I put this video on. It never fails to remind me that there are still some good things in this wretched world of ours that are worth living for.

I'm not crying...you're crying...seriously tho tears of joy!
I do too😂
I have watched this over a hundred times, at least and it still produces those goosebumps for me too.
This song makes me cry as a player. The drum army is the best thing. You can't really hear the other players. This is my wake up call about caring every day. Somebody is falling and needs a hand up while others just need support. If you're a player, play this song.
I feel the same way. This performance isn't just uplifting, its magical. Very powerful....
I'm feeling the same in Argentina

I am 62 and remember the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. I have rocked ever since but I have to admit, this video is the coolest thing ever.
Ten Second Songs Well said Anthony!
Ten Second Songs Buddy Rock and Roll will never be dead. It's music. And music never dies!
Ten Second Songs It's a powerful video. What a tremendous "come visit us" ask!
Ten Second Songs my feelings exactly was overwhelmed by the sheer awesomeness of it man i loved it!!
I got sent here by The Charismatic Voice reacting to Learn To Fly. The comment section kept mentioning this video. I am so happy I just discovered this. It is amazing!
Three years on, this remains the single most beautiful thing I have ever seen on UA-cam.
Me too Sid. I have had it on repeat all day. It is so feel good
I couldn't agree more.
Count me in too Sid Fang. This old man is crying. Someone invent time travel just so I can be there. Damn!
Same for their cover for Smells like teen spirit. Sooooooo many goosebumps!!!
Its price less
This is amazing.
1000 musicians getting together to jam on a good song...had to be the best feeling ever!
Smooth McGroove Imagine if you're Dave. The feeling that so many people know how to play your song, sing your lyrics, feel so passionate about the band that they put on this just to ask if they will bless them with your presence. Just as a compassionate human i'd want to thank every single one and play a show for an hour at least for this effort..
it would be even more epic if they played a Slayer song, although it would prettty sound very jumbled
It was amazing! Trust me ;)
James Trendall I can imagine that today was one of the best days a human could ever have for Dave. Too bad we can't quantify it and put it into the Guinness Book of World Records.
Smooth McGroove Smooth approves! Fuck yeah!
Almost 5 years have passed and nothing compares to this.
Matteo Mosca i agree. I still love this video and rendition.
Still the best vid on Utube

This one is still the best of all rock 1000. Seems more real than the others
@adsfafad agreed. Americans are very lucky. Not like here in Italy where we're very close to dictatorship.
Thankfully, I keep coming back to this. It's a gift of greatness. And humanity at its finest.
They say this made David Grohl cry. If it doesn't make you cry, you're not human!
Beautiful!
No human :0
agree
How could it not...imagine 1000 people covering a song you wrote... if i were him id be thinking “god i made it in life!”
Don’t be silly. I couldn’t stop smiling and drumming with my fingers.
It made Dave Grohl cry cause thousands came together to recreate an art he was responsible for. If you cry to this, its just weird.
Unbelievable that’s he’s gone.. their music will live through us all. RIP Taylor Hawkins 🕊

Amazing, wonderful, I've seen it so many times..., and also so important, so full of positive messages, here are some:
1) Rock will never die
2) Italy has still some hope
3) Dreams come true, sometimes
4) Humanity is not so evil, perhaps
5) Viva la gnocca (the most evident)
Best comment ever lol....
Enrico Ferrari ahahaha grande. Hai ragione. Gimme five (5!!!).
Hope? They are diying or something?
In these years there's the economical crisis, but it's a lot more complicate: the social and political problems (for many years we haven't been able to express a competent/decent political class, so people have no trust in the administration and the state), there is a lot of pessimism around, for the future too... and the artistical/cultural decadence, I think it is also a consequence of the other problems, anyway it's impossible tu discuss all these aspects in a few posts...... but this fantastic video made by all these beautiful and happy people, though it doesn't solve anything, gives me happiness and a little hope, and it's not only me, I have read a lot of posts, so many italians did express the same feelings...
ciao!
Enrico Ferrari

Watch Foo Fighters Play the Italian City That Made Crazy Viral Video to Invite Them
Chris Payne

Grohl of Foo Fighters performs live at Nuovo Teatro Carisport in Cesena
Francesco Castaldo/Pacific Press/LightRocket
Three months ago, a video featuring a thousand Italians begging the Foo Fighters to play their city went viral. Tuesday night (Nov. 3) this very random dream came true, as one of the biggest rock bands in the world played a marathon set in Cesena, Italy. What a time to be alive
Appropriately, the set opened with “Learn to Fly,” the song covered by a thousand musicians in the video that launched the whole affair. Later on, Dave Grohl spotted the mohawked drummer from the video in the crowd and invited him onstage to drum on a cover of Queen’s “Under Pressure.” Check it out below:
When I need that dopamine, humans at their best.
I hear you! This is a great pick me up. pay attention to the drummers. fucking awesome!
The fact that there is people from all different ages singing, smiling and having fun makes this video even more beautiful.
is it weird that i feel a bit emotional right now ?
i mean seeing how these people in harmony and happy makes me restore faith in humanity

ATCsmusic You think this is inspiring, you should check out the old Coca-Cola commercials! You remember, "I'd like to teach the world to sing." ua-cam.com/video/1VM2eLhvsSM/v-deo.html
Jason Hanson its good to gather people from all gender/race ...etc , but the message behind that video is str8 up advertisement , unlike this video ,
Only Italians could have invented such a "live show". Italy has always been the soul of all the arts.
Yes, ever since the Renaissance. Check the Italian Prog-Rock band Premiata Forneria Marconi, they were amazing.

Marsh B.O. Mallow B. And electricity...and wifi xD
Unity through music. I love it
Whod have thought it.
Eric William -MKme Tech or that Rock is Dead? Best comment ever Eric! You nailed it!
Eric William -MKme Tech Well said!

True. The drummers were incredible. -- Texas, U.S.A.

It is truly the most beautiful thing in the world to watch....
To be fair, everyone had metronome lights to help. You can see the flashing red and green lights on the tower to mark the beats of each measure.
Even with the metronome, to see young kids playing with such smoothness and grace, just wow!!!! Magical!! ✨
Still in tears everytime I watch this video. So many beautiful people, so much passion, so much joy. 🤩🤩🤩

This is just brilliant. I can't stop watching. This makes me happy. It is much more than a possible Foo Fighters concert. It is humans gathering together and show that it is possible to fight for one major objective, have compassion and produce completely inspiring moments. Completely amazed.

AttilatheThrilla by the way.......Oilers 4 life !!!
Chica Latina come to visit :)
This group did not miss a beat. It just goes to show the love we all have for the Foos. They imprint on us and become part of our lives, the phases of life we endure, suffer, and succeed through. They’re always playing in the background.
Rest In Peace, Taylor. Thank you for being there, always. ❤️
Anyone else find it very aesthetically pleasing to see all the drummers' sticks flying around in sync?
That just goes to show how well they pulled this off. It's phenomenal.
+Arlilecay The magic was they did NOT asked us to do ANYTHING... They gave us the track once they selected us with some basic rules (no chops, be very basic), and then we rehearsed together only on that day. What you see is ALL spontaneous.

Ammirazione infinita!

Charlie Riser neighbors wouldnt be happy XD
I don't care how bad a day at work I had, this snaps me out of it! This should win a Nobel Peace Prize or the like, because, yeah, it's that good a contribution to the world!
+Marlowe Peterson Couldn't agree more. Watching this makes me feel good no matter how bad a day
+Marlowe Peterson no it shouldn't...this does nothing for the world in reality...its super cool absolutely but cmon
+Reggie “Batman” Hammond bet you're fun at parties.
Erin Maya I am indeed...cuz im honest
+Marlowe Peterson It's surprisingly moving, I teared up watching it. That 1000 people can do this gives me faith in humankind!
The drums being so well in synch and on time is incredible.
The fact that that amazes you is sad TBH..
I'm sadly amazed by your pessimism and negativity.
Well get used to it
Some hits are early, some hits are late. The ones that are on time add up in velocity and cover up any timing mistakes. I hope I explained that properly. Basically its the law of averages. It isn't really incredible.
not to mention everything is edited and compressed to the point where its almost perfect. besides the fact that this is probly the 25th take
I’ve just watched about this on tv here in Brazil. OMG … siete incredibile!!!! Sono emozionata
This is why music is so important and why it inspires so many. RIP Taylor Hawkins
Hawkins knew the risks and played by them. He’s joined a very long list of rockers who have fallen by the wayside.
